Edward Snowden agrees. He says that cell phones can be tracked even though they are turned off. He said what he does is to remove the battery and put the phone in the refrigerator.

This is true. They can be turned on remotely too.

Down in the valley is the town of Cripple Creek - where Patrick Frazee is scheduled to appear in court today at 1:30 pm. Frazee is facing charges of first-degree murder and solicitation of first-degree murder in connection to the disappearance of Kelsey Berreth #9news

I'm not sure if she's on scene.

A lot of the news reporters doing tweets from the courtroom and especially the newer reporters dont realize we want to hear about EVERYTHING. :)

What the defendent is wearing when they walk in?
Any Shackles or restraints?
What color socks they have on?
Do they look scared when walking in?
Are they giving any dirty looks to others in the courtroom?

And what about relatives walking in?
Same questions for those?

Color of handcuffs, color of leg irons, details on personal grooming ...

That’s only if the phone has been previously infiltrated with malware.

You’ll think the phone is off, but it’s still transmitting.

A phone that is shut off, will not normally transmit.

Snowden has a legitimate concern, because he is certainly being watched by intelligence agencies.

Not to go off on conspiracy theories, but I’m pretty sure our phones would all come with the “malware” built in, if the government wanted them to have it. If they want that ...is anyone’s guess, but I would be surprised if phones couldn’t be traced when off. They just would need a legitimate reason to do it (vs say, an employee tracing their wife all around)

Just wanted to greet you as you said you were pretty new here. Hope you will sort out the message system! :)
I think the really confusing part about sending private messages is that
there isn't a SEND button to click at the bottom. It says START A CONVERSATION instead of SEND like sending an email.

If you send your message to multiple posters, does everyone in the group
see everyone else's replies like a chat room?
TIA

I bet he’s glad they’re divorced and not have to deal with any of this! Moo

He's probably glad to be divorced but I bet reporters are still hounding him for comments about his ex wife. JMO.

You know what, I must have misremembered what the EMC request said.

I was under the impression that this was for all hearings, and not just the initial appearance.

@PommyMommy this might not be televised after all, and it would explain the lack of Tweets regarding the coverage today.

You? Misremember anything?

How long are their terms?
(Sorry, but my search engine will only display 1/2 page. Not lazy! Yet.)

P.S. it is 12:43 pm in Colorado now.
I believe its 2 years.

I didn't think she was eligible to run again as she was first appointed Judge by the Gov, and then retained 2 years by election. Apparently she was able to run again in a 2nd election. MOO

I bet he is not happy that his family name is dragged in mud, through no fault of his. The locals in Idaho, at his and her work, know everything and are gossiping nonstop, I bet.

I tried to research this and got contradictory info. It appears that on older feature phones, it was true that it would ping when turned off. Not so sure on smartphones. If true for them, then an iPhone user would be screwed in his criminal activity because you can’t remove the battery.
And that's why Tracfones and other burner phones are frequently used by criminals or people having affairs.

Patrick Frazee is in court today for a motions hearing in his criminal case. It starts at 1:30 p.m. (MT). Among the topics to be covered include letting him actually see the probable cause affidavit & whether to allow consumptive testing. #PatrickFrazee #KelseyBerreth @KOAA

A reminder: Communication with the outside world isn’t allowed from inside the courtroom. I’ll share notes here when the hearing is over. #PatrickFrazee #KelseyBerreth @KOAA

Looks like we're going to be reliant on twitter updates from MSM for realtime info on the hearing this afternoon. Here is the link for the KKTV reporter covering in the courtroom: Ashley Franco on Twitter
