Agree IBT- international business times. They don't do their own investigating, they piece articles together based on whats out there. I think they made an error or an assumption. Frankly, i believe she is in protective custody because she is not around anywhere. But not arrested, we would have heard.
I believe she is in protective custody also.

If the BFF knew, and the R’s knew, and ID nurse knew (knew whatever details), who else knew? We have talkers!

I think might be why PF is not talking. He’s waiting to learn who has talked. Moo

Yes. I believe around Christmas is when I personally first saw the harassment

For those that experience any harassment online please, please report this to the provider of the social media account and if it becomes personal it can be reported to your local law enforcement if they indicate they know your location.

What possible motive could the BFF have for defending KK after she knew what happened in December ? This does not make sense unless something else was going on? JMO
Maybe the BFF thought she was helping KK by having her come in to talk to the R’s. What that really did was expose KK.

He’s not talking because he’s already been charged, and there is absolutely no reason for him to sit down with the DA, other than during a plea negotiation.

Please help me here.

How would the R's know anything about KK's road trip and who were they supposedly told by?
It makes no sense to me why they are talking about their FBI interview and what they were told unless there is a bigger picture ? IMO

  • #548
IMO, the fact they called FBI rather than local LE speaks volumes. IMO, they know LE pays little attention to hearsay & I think something might happen but not sure but.........
Well, he did say, "if only we could have gotten" police to go to this guy and ask him some questions, which makes me think maybe they did call them. I doubt they would want to complain publicly that they tried to get them to do something but they wouldn't listen.
But I do think it's more likely that they knew there was nothing LE could or would do, without knowing who to look into or any other details. Imo

I was thinking KK
Well, if KK wanted a mew life with PF, ok, but geez, we don’t murder someone to get that. Now her new life might be prison.

Is how small towns work, KK is from a old time ranching family, 3rd or 4th generation, probably homesteaded in that area. This is a shock to them all, they will defend them until the evidence proves otherwise. Is human nature, protect those you know. JMO

I think as attorneys, they probably knew calling the FBI was the fastest way to get the information to them, especially since it’s likely the FBI’s jurisdiction.

That would be interesting. Could mean someone else is out there, PF is sitting in jail, he is not threat.

Who?
Where I live protection isn’t provided unless there’s a lot of evidence deeming it necessary. It’s costly, for one. The person needing protection likely has places to hang, if needed, imo. In my state, if I’m afraid of someone & told LE, they’d advise me to stay with a friend or have one stay with me, lock my doors, be alert & “call if you need us.” They can’t babysit me based on something that might or might not be true or happen. Jmo

(Protective custody to me means an incarcerated person is kept from the GP. I think you mean a witness is being protected by LE? Sorry, if not)

True. With it being out of state.

Getting on my “what was their motive” soapbox. MOO, JMO, IMO...All the O’s.
In one of my favorite books, John Douglas Mind Hunter, there was something he stated that hit me and stayed with me. I am going to paraphrase, hope that’s OK mods, my library of John Douglas books are not right here handy. When asked if all the people he hunted were psychotic , he said “no, people who are truly psychotic would kill in public or in a room full of people. They would not try to hide it” He continued “the reason most of these people kill is the same reason people cheat, because at that moment, it feels better than NOT doing it”

Wasn ‘t the whole Sonic video dubious?
And Saturday? Not on Thanksgiving?

Sounds like the BFF told all she knew to the R’s (which came from KK).

It makes no sense to me why they are talking about their FBI interview and what they were told unless there is a bigger picture ? IMO

The R's just came forward this if I am correct.

When their employee came forward to them was it after Thanksgiving or before? If it was before they could not have known about the road trip at that point. This is where I am stuck on how they know anything about the trip.

If I read this correctly.

Snip
Joe and Patty Rockstahl tell KMVT last October one of their employees came to them visibly upset.
.....

They only came forward because their employee (kk’s bff) was getting harrassed.
.....

Snip
The Rockstahls decided to come forward to KMVT News after their employee endured harassment and threats on social media.

Twin Falls couple talks about providing a tip to the FBI on the Kelsey Berreth case

.....

Now whether they asked LE if it was ok to out themselves is another story.

Reward was/is for locating Kelsey...right?
None of these talking people know where she is...right?

Context and hindsight are powerful, aren't they? Or maybe not so much to the lynch mob posting here lately.

My post you were responding to was about the Rs, not about the best friend, but I'll go ahead and answer your question.

If my best friend told me she was asked to murder someone, I would absolutely figure out what was going on with that situation.

If my best friend then told me that her being asked to murder someone was just drunk crazy talk, and to forget she brought it up, that is probably exactly what I would do.

Would I talk to my boss about such a situation? I might if my boss was an attorney. Would I report to LE? Yes, if I felt that was warranted.

But here's the kicker: I've been reading and watching true crime for decades--books, television shows, Websleuths. I'm cynical, I'm suspicious, and I would probably take the "I've been asked to murder someone" story a lot farther than most people would. Those who don't read or follow true crime just don't see a situation the same way we WSers see it. I know this because I have family and friends who just do not think like I do about missing person cases, murders, etc.

So sue me if I cut the Rs some slack.

KK was closest to the problem--as a solicitee, she absolutely should have intervened somehow. Did she try? What was that entire conversation stream with PF?

BFF of KK--well, see above. If the story was eventually made out to be of little consequence by KK, I'm just not sure the average uncynical unsuspicious person would think beyond that. Who in their everyday right mind would think such a thing was a thing?!?

However, if neither BFF or KK went to LE even later when Kelsey's story went national, then they deserve whatever comes their way now.

If PF and solicitation, and KK and her involvement, came to LE's attention because of the Rs, good on them.

The interviews? I'm waiting for an explanation.
Yes, hindsight. We knew a couple and babysat their innocent puppy several times. A year later the dog was totally different and had serious problems, the girlfriend said the boyfriend was "scaring" the dog when one walked into the room. If I had only taken that more seriously (or had she used more serious words like terrorizing the dog instead of scare dog) what unfolded would be much different.
