Yeah, it's pretty ugly out my window, too. I wonder if the press is still sitting outside the landfill gate? LOL. Actually, when I went to bed last night, the forecast for snow had dropped to thirty or forty percent, and I thought that the weather would turn out nice and LE would prove me wrong on my prediction about them not starting the landfill search today. But no---it's turning out to be a pretty good snow event today, although as you can see by the attached map, it depends on where you are. That's always the thing about weather up here---hard to predict and highly dependent on location.
I'm learning more about how the media works in high-profile cases like this. Seeing those news trucks lined up at the landfill gate yesterday makes me realize how easy it is for LE to manipulate the media. I'm not suggesting they have bad motives in this, the media can really get in the way of an investigation, I am sure. If, for example, LE wanted to go back to a location to search again, and they didn't want anyone to see what they were looking at, all they have to do is suggest that something might be happening somewhere else. (I am not suggesting that LE searched anywhere yesterday, so please no yellow bicycle rumors.)
Oh, also I wanted to mention that when I posted about when LE might start to search the landfill, I forgot that this was a long weekend, with a holiday on Monday. I kind of doubt that, given a choice, LE would want to start searching on a long weekend. But we will see....[/QUOTE
I also wondered if the news about the landfill search was a fluke to cover another location. We may never know.
