What? We have a deceased female and an arrested suspect with a known associate with the victim's phone that took at least one trip. These are the facts of the case.

Agree with a caveat. We know KB's phone "pinged" in ID, we know KK(L) is involved w/PF per friends in media, and know KK lives in ID.
It is logical that KK had KB's phone, but we don't know that, unless I'm missing something.

KB earned her Commercial Pilot Certifications 9/22/2015 and her Flight Instructor Certificate 4/24/2017.

She would have gotten pregnant around Jan 2017.

So you may be correct in your theory-- she could have been training for her flight instructor Certificate during her early pregnancy when she was living with her friend.

The woman in the interview, Ashley Cogburn, lives in Grand Junction where Kelsey lived when she first moved to Colorado. Kelsey worked as a pilot in Grand Junction. Ashley and Kelsey grew up together in Washington state. Woodland Park and Grand Junction are about a five hour drive apart. So I guess PF visited in GJ often?

Oddly, this is what has made sense to me but PF told LE several versions so several versions have been reported. One has been KB dropped the child off. The other that he picked the child up at the townhome. Either version, LE verbalized that he placed himself as the last person to see KB. This is a BIG problem.

Do we know he told several versions? The reporting has been astonishingly poor and L.e has said very little.

Yeah, this interview backs up what many of us have thought about both of them.

Typically, a domestic murder is proceeded by conflict and abuse.

So that fits.

We thought Kelsey was probably introverted, quiet, and reserved.

I’m a bit surprised that she communicated this much to her friend, but as expected, it appears to have been a bit short on specifics.

It’s a match made in hell if you think about it. An abuser on one hand, and a fairly isolated victim on the other.

He’d be abusive to her only in private, so only those two would know about it.

She wasn’t one to advertise this sort of thing, especially considering she appeared to have hope that the relationship would work out.

So her personality made her reluctant to talk, and her hope for the future would have led to her minimizing what was really going on.

Perhaps this article makes this situation clearer. Narcissist are difficult and highly manipulative people as I have tried, and now don't try anymore to understand my family member. I can see KB getting caught up in this rat maze and trying to give it her best to understand it. But honestly, there IS no understanding and I had to severe ties in order to remain healthy.

The harder the loved one tries to modify their behavior to accommodate the abuser, the more powerful the abuser feels and escalates the abuse. There's no winning. KB was a graduate of the 2 year Aviation program at Big Bend Community College, Moses Lake, Wa., which includes flight instructor qualification. Her cousin told news media that she did it as a teenager, so my guess is that she had been a certified flying instructor since about age 20. I do not know if it has to be renewed, or what the renewal process involves.

I'm curious about PF's mother and her role, if any, in all of this.

Just me, but I tried to put myself in her shoes. My son has just been arrested for murdering the mother of his child, I'm in total shock and disbelief. He isn't saying much and it looks very bad.

In that situation, I can't see myself getting a lawyer and filing for custody of my son's child - not when the murdered mother's family is perfectly suitable and available. I just couldn't do it to another mother.

perhaps. it seems to me that PF's mom was, along with KB, the care provider of the child. it appears to me that PF's mom had at least provided 50% of total care time, considering KB was in Pueblo working. during this time KB's mom provided care only during relatively short term visits. all the crime thing aside i would think that there was from the perspective of the child a fairly great bonding to PF's mom and not as much with KB's mom. i think PF's mom had devoted a great deal of her time to the care of the child whilst KB's mom was a distant grandmother type. granted, because of the dynamics of the murder charges i can see the temporary removal of the child from PF's mom. but i can also understand PF's mom actions.

Thanks! That makes sense. She already had the commercial cert. Flight Instructor might have been a job she could still do throughout her pregnancy if it was mostly classroom based. It would make sense for her to decide to get a FI Cert after she got pregnant so that she could keep supporting herself and her baby. Although she told a fellow pilot in Feb 2017 that she was getting married soon, PF sure wasn't stepping up to marry and support KB financially anytime soon. I think a FI Cert might have been her plan B-- and good for her! MOO.

For those thinking PF had nothing to do with KB's murder, please listen to Jennifer V, Snr. Deputy District Attorney when asked if arresting PF was done to soon. She is confident he was not arrested to soon. Imo, they know something or have some kind of evidence.

Just some musings as we wait for more concrete news to come from LE.

My biggest fear at the present moment is that LE is planning on using KK as their prime witness against PF and his defense claiming PF didnt have anything to do with the murder and that she was the sole perpetrator.

PF can claim sure his DNA will be all over that apartment because he visited there often. He can also claim that she is lying that he asked her to murder KB. And the really scary thing about that defense to me is that if she did help him cleanup the apartment he can claim that her DNA is in that apartment to prove she did it on her own as well as her taking KB's phone home with her to ID.

Basically it will be his word against hers with both of them pointing fingers at the other.

All I can hope is LE has much more evidence that we are not aware of yet that proves beyond a reasonable doubt which one of them was the actual murderer. And if the other one was involved in the murder then my hopes is that LE charges them both.

The news conference by the district attorney prosecuting this case is online at the link below. It's rather lengthy, with starts and stops, but he explains that the two murder charges represent two different theories of how the one crime of murder was commited, so one will be dropped as the evidence is gathered. He distinctly said that each one of the three charges of Solicitation represented a separate solicitation. The DA was followed by the Assistant DA, who explained the motions being contested at that time and explained that the next hearing date will be when they actually present evidence. PF can enter a plea after this, but he is not required to. I can caution that the presentation of evidence in the court does not mean that we will automatically see it. The information has to be shared with PF by ruling, but there is still a court order sealing all evidence from the public, and there is no motion pending to unseal it.

Is Grand Junction the closest place to Woodland Park she could have done her flight instructor certification? I'm still confused on where the info comes from that she moved to Grand Junction at all.
She moved to Woodland Park in 2016 based on the video interview with her uncle.
If GJ was where she had to go for training, she might have moved there from WP only to do the FI training in Feb 2017 which is when she told a fellow pilot who reportedly went to "flight school" with her that she was getting married soon: Who was Kelsey Berreth?
