Krystal Jean Lee Kenney will plead guilty to one count of tampering with physical evidence in court on Friday according to the district attorney's office.

That crime was committed on November 24 according to court documents, two days after Kelsey Berreth disappeared, having last been seen by fiance Patrick Frazee.

Lee and Frazee have known one another for years, and she has long been a person of interest in the case.

She will only get a fine and probation under the current charge, and it is not known if she made a deal with prosecutors.

This is shocking.

I agree, if this is the result, it is shocking.
Friday can't come quickly enough so we know.
Many hated NK associated with CW, here for me, KK is someone I dislike.
Perhaps as with NK, we may not ever know KK's entire involvement.
But, these women nail their friend, big time, and perhaps disappear into the sunset, not a care in the world.

It wasn't before Tgiving because she spoke to her mother that morning. But she was not seen or heard from after that trip to the market.

I think that they had a plan, went through with it, Strategized how they get away with it…AND it unraveled because it’s too hard to have TWO people know about something and have someone not talk. Especially people who aren’t as smart as they think they are.

Teller County local police indicated there was evidence to indicate KB was 1) decreased and 2) it occurred in the townhouse. This was an early news conference soon after PF's arrest. The burglary has not been explained but has been listed as an alternative to the crime which is allowable in CO. In articles, I have read there may be indications that PF hired or asked someone to rob KB. The robbery allows for the death penalty as a felony during the commission of homicide and can place the death penalty as an option. This gives the DA more options.

I work a lot in white collar crime for lack of a better term. This involves looking at medical professionals backgrounds often. It would be highly unusual for any that plead guilty to any felony to be licensed but to have one related to a homicide would be unheard of in my professional opinion.

Yes, but the question Was about a civil lawsuit and the effect on the nursing license, not criminal charges.

I guess I’m wondering, is KK the person PF solicited to kill or help kill Kelsey? If so, but KK refused and didn’t say anything or participate in the murder, when KK obtained, tampered with and disposed oof Kelsey’s item(s), she must have then thought Kelsey was dead, right? That the reason she had these items is because PF went thru with hia plan finally. And KK didn't say anything to LE until ... when? I don’t like this at all. This actually seems much worse to me than the Chris Watts/N. Kessinger mess, and I said very early on that I thought NK was totally rotten. This ticks me off.

Our lawyers explained in a previous thread that if the murderer/accomplice took KB's purse/phone that would make it a robbery, IIRC. Those items haven't been located that we know of, IMO.

They might have evidence of where but I doubt they have evidence that pinpoints the exact date of death.

I look forward to seeing what evidence they have. The defense will likely present their own "theory."

She goes to the market around noon on Thanksgiving. No one ever sees her, hears from her, ever again. There is no activity on her cells, expect for the phony texts. And no activity on her bank cards. She calls no one to say Happy Thanksgiving, doesn't have dinner with anyone that night, even after baking a bunch of cinnamon buns.
She never checks in on her precious child?

I think it is pretty obvious when she departed this earth.

One point to consider is the 7-800 mile drive back to where the phone pinged. KB was reported as deceased on 11/22; KK received the phone on 11/24 and sent messages on 11/25. What time was she recorded at Sonic?

Wasn't there some social media reports discussed on some of our threads that her Mom was trying to contact her on 11/22 and 11/23? The formal Missing Persons information was in December but her Mom was trying to look for her much earlier I believe. Someone with a better memory can answer.

All the news said she went missing that day. His truck was seen there that day to pick up the baby, but no one saw or heard from her after that. Her rolls were left sitting on the counter. I think that means she disappeared at that time, because she didn't wrap them up. It would probably also mean that was the last day she cooked there as well. She was supposed to go to lunch with pf, but that didn't happen. PF became very suspicious acting, etc, so I think it's thought he killed her the day he was last there.

It is upsetting, thinking perhaps KK's charges will not amount to prison time.
Your post gives me more hope.
So she snitches, to try to save her own skin.
But prior to being implicated by LE, she made no attempts to prevent this murder.
KB has been murdered, and I hope KK gets maximum time, for her input.
From now on, I wish her future to be most miserable, as she suffers from nightmares, and is ousted by those around her.
Let her pay, big time, for her involvement.

I'm wondering if life outside of prison won't be more hideous for her? In prison, she's in a protective atmosphere where she doesn't have to do manure concerning her own self care. Outside, she has to live, care for herself, go to the grocery, whatever. If I were in that same situation, I don't know that I could even remotely deal with the constant silent judgement. I dunno, this kind of prison sentence could satisfy my want to see her punished.

Well, actually, she wouldn't have been able to spend that much time in Colorado, because so much time would have been taken up on the road.

The arrest affidavit states on or about 11/22 so it's an estimate, not a guess. I'm sure there's evidence that lead prosecutor to state that particular day.

The robbery thing clangs off the mind's ear in this case: why would her fiance and father of her child be involved in a violent robbery of KB? Unless it's an en passant robbery charge targeted toward KK taking KB's cell phone to give them further leverage over KK.

Perps and accomplices take cell phones all the time in murder cases.
But I don't recall DA's highlighting robbery as the primary motive in those cases, as seems to be the alternative theory here. "he alone or with other people killed her during a robbery " reads like the primary motive was robbery and KB ended up getting killed during the robbery.

DA's do tack on laundry list charges, illegal handling of a corpse, minor theft charges if the perp took the victim's money/possessions etc. But this reads like LE has an alternative theory centered around a robbery?

The robbery would be to explain an alternative to what crime was being committed (this is allowable in CO) and is a felony enhancement being committed during the commission of a homicide which can be used to ask for the Death Penalty and not just a Life Sentence, Charge 2 (the crime really is the murder and not the robbery). The other possibility is PF committed the homicide without robbery, Charge 1. One of these will be dropped once the investigation is completed.
