Idaho woman pleads guilty to charge in Kelsey Berreth case

Krystal Jean Lee Kenney, 32, of Idaho, pleaded guilty Friday morning to one count of tampering with physical evidence in connection to the case of missing Woodland Park mom Kelsey Berreth.

The criminal complaint accuses Lee of tampering with evidence on Nov. 24 or Nov. 25, or both. The tampering charge is a class 6 felony.

In Teller County court Friday, Lee agreed to testify in the trial against Patrick Frazee, Berreth's fiancee who is accused of murdering her. Lee will face her sentence after his trial and is not allowed to talk to media.

Lee’s family members told ABC News that Frazee threatened Lee's life, and that was why she helped him dispose of the phone. Authorities haven’t released information on how Lee and Frazee know each other.

On Dec. 22, 2018 police in Twin Falls, Idaho said they thought they had found possible evidence in connection to the case, though it’s also unclear what that evidence was, or if it’s connected to Lee. During the investigation, both Berreth’s home in Woodland Park and Frazee’s home in Florissant , in addition to a landfill in the city of Fountain , were searched by authorities. It is unclear what, if any, evidence was found during those searches.

How do you KNOW a man just committed homicide and you keep your mouth shut? How?! No matter how bad you may feel about yourself today, be happy you are not Krystal Lee. How shameful.

This does increase the likelihood that PF seeks out his own plea deal. I’ll be shocked if this actually goes to trial. His public defender attorney will push hard for a guilty plea and something other than death or life in prison in exchange for telling what he did with the body. That’s how this is going to go, I bet.

She knows so much . Hopefully they can tack on the other charge for more time. I think if Patrick pleas they will . I can understand the plea I don't like it but atleast Patrick is toast .

Like everyone else, I had a hard time hearing KK's testimony. But this is bombshell news if these tweets are accurate! KK admitted in court that she knew PF had committed the homicide when she agreed to dispose of the phone. I am guessing that's a big part of the reason why LE was able to arrest PF so quickly. MOO

KK pleads guilty - Felony tampering with physical evidence, deferred hearing until after PF’s murder trial. Prosecutors requiring KK to cooperate fully in PF’s murder trial. She is prohibited from speaking with press under plea. Prosecution wants plea papers kept from public. Judge grants motion. Review hearing schedule for June 24th at 11 am and every 90 days or so after.
