I imagine the two days KB was in the tote bacteria was setting in and she had started to bloat and ooze decomposition fluids, I think that smell was all around that tote. Apology : a little graphic but that is what happens to a deceased body. What caused the dog to hit the discolored area?
Add : you can be 25 yards downwind from a dead cow that has only been dead 12 hours and the stench will make you want to puke. And it takes a few hours to get that smell out of your nostrils. I am speaking of a cow that has died during a hard delivery of a calf , there is very little blood , not the body beat to a pulp like KB may have been. It stinks like nothing you ever want to smell.
