Yep yep yep. This is where my guessing and speculating is leading me.

One could turn off her phone, drive it to Idaho, turn phone back on, send a couple texts, turn off phone, destroy it, etc, and drive back.
Yup. And it would distance himself from her phone and her location, as he would have left his phone at home in this scenario.

If his phone wasn’t being used by someone else, and was also inactive for that period, it would be very telling.

Especially if this was unusual cell activity for him.

Not quite. It was the family on Dec 7 that mentioned Soap Lake as a possible place she could be.

"TRI-CITIES, Wash. — Family of a Colorado mother missing since Thanksgiving want folks in Eastern Washington to be on the lookout, even as they try to figure out the circumstances around her disappearance.

They say it's a long shot, but she has family in Soap Lake, Wash. and authorities say her phone last pinged, or sent a signal, from an area near Gooding, Idaho."

Pasco relatives pray for miracle as search continues for missing Colorado mother

Didn't they get this info from PF?

Wow! I'm also going to assume that a spoof GPS app works independent of ACTUAL cell towers(??).
They were around at least since 2016. Of course they are just apps, as I have said, a schoolkid tricking his mom into thinking he is in a library while going on a date might use it, while seasoned spy agencies probably have better ways of covering and uncovering tracks, but this is what one immediately finds by Googling.

There might be a situation when all the agency might say would be, "we don't know for sure where the ping originated from".

And here I sit, unaware that HRD dogs can type...
I know that the Wind Cries Mary but what do the trees say, exactly?

Help a buddy out, will you please?
Lol ... thank you

Over time, one gets accustomed to how a forest or field "behaves"

The land gives clues. Am an engineer and longtime scoutmaster.

They had a helicopter, dogs and 100 church people scouring my ranch for my neighbor.

I handled 100 acres to help narrow the search ... I can tell if somebody has been through there in the last week.

Then narrowed down the only place he likely was.

Actually tripped on the body

It was not fun.

Later, a felon admitted to knocking the guy off, to cover up a murder in the city.

Jeepers, you’d think that they would utilize spellcheck.

That headline is misleading, as the police chief is just saying what he’s supposed to say in that regard. He hasn’t provided any evidence that she is alive, and he almost certainly believes that she isn’t.

This is standard though.

I’m glad to hear that he’s sitting down with police, I think it’s the least he can do. It would have been nice if he was this forthcoming from the beginning.

Someone get Tammy on the line!
IKR?! o_O

Why isn't this being reported elsewhere? (That CF is sitting down with police for an interview) I trust you will straighten this out while I make dinner. :)

I almost totally agree that it could be roughly a one man affair. I just am not sure they’d bother to go 700ish miles to create a false ping. Why not 200? Unless someone had to go there on business already...

Well for cryin' out loud, article updated:

Authorities believe missing Woodland Park mom could still be alive

UPDATE 12/14/18 3 p.m.
A reward is being offered for information leading to the location of a missing Colorado mom. The specifics of that reward were not announced as police get ready to sit down face to face with the missing woman's fiance for the first time since an investigation started on Dec. 2.
It's about time. I wonder when the interview is taking place. Should be interesting. If he is cleared the investigation will turn in a completely different direction. I wonder if it is actually new information that she may be alive or they are just going by the last thing LE said that it's possible she is still alive. I guess we will have a much better idea after the interview.

Um, that update is Yesterday's date. Somehow I think the media in that update has something wrong because based on the time that is shortly after the Police Chief got done saying that they would like to have PF sit down with investigators and that he hadn't.

I've been trying to find a source for all the things PF has said. If there's one, please link me up. As far as I know he's radio silent. tia

Don’t put this on me @PommyMommy, you have a whole damn research team at your disposal!

Unless you have released them for the holidays, oops, I mean given them the holidays off, then there’s no excuse for them not getting to the bottom of this.

No pies for them!

He could have went hunting for the weekend ... left his phone there ... so his GPS signal would cover for him ... then drive 100mph to Idaho and back

Updated yesterday, though, right?

I wonder if that the remark about getting ready to meet with him face to face is a poorly worded interpretation of LE’s hopes to meet with him.

Ye Gads!!! How awful. But that is fascinating info. I guess if you're on your land every day, you notice disturbances in pine straw, leaf litter, branches, etc., as you say. Guessing you know animal trails and tracks as second nature, to the point that the odd body stands out. Thanks for the follow-up!

Hard to believe this was a spur of the moment act. He’s a cattle farmer not a techie or crime scene cleanup guy. Not impossible of course but if LE has his phone and there are no imcrimating searches or messages...??? The more ‘out there’ the theory the less I can understand how PF could hsve pulled it off - unless it was very premeditated and he had help. Especially given that LE (maybe) didn’t find evidence on his land. Of course LE could know all kinds of things and be waiting for a misstep.
