It's about time he talks, if he has nothing to hide not a problem. I can see where he'd be afraid to talk without a lawyer but heck he lawyered up ASAP.

I'm glad he's going to answer questions.

The phone is probably in Chatfield Resevior.

Doubt this guy is in the Air Force he is 53 yrs old. But maybe????

Yes I definately see a pattern in this & Deidre's case......both disappeared without a trace. That is so scarey........guess it happens more often then I thought. Also LE seems to think Nonniie just walked away.....or least it sounds that way. Outcome doesn't look very good either.
from the link below, Vehle is unemployed and living off of money from his mother. At 53 years of age??? WTF? His allowance must be quite a bit since his monthly child support obligation is so high! He is scheduled to meet with investigators on Monday. Meanwhile it has been 12 days since Nonnie disappeared.

Investigators in the case of Nonnie Dotson are reviewing evidence from search warrants served to internet service providers to attempt to create a timeline of Nonnie's activities leading up to her disappearance. What authorities have so far looks like this:

Nov. 19th

  • 12am Left the Grizzle Rose Bar after dancing with several individuals
  • Investigators interested in filling in this gap as well, was Nonnie with anyone during this time?
  • 2:30am Returned home, logged into singleparentsmeet.com
  • 9am Logged in again to a single parents dating site
  • 1pm Logged in again to single parents dating site
  • Roughly 2pm left to run errands and did not return.
There is also reported to be conflicting accounts of how Nonnie's time in the Air Force was going. Investigators have some communication that indicates:

Missing Air Force nurse Nonnie Dotson allegedly told her mother four days before she vanished that the military had "done her way wrong."
Her mother disputes this information.

Also Edward Vehle the father Nonnie's child is scheduled to talk to authorities next week in Texas.

According to Crime Libraries latest article, Nonnie's relationship ended because of the pregnancy. Crime Library: Friends of Missing Nonnie Dotson Shed Light on Her Fear of Former Lover

Sounds like he is a total jerk. Dumping her when she got pregnant ( which isn't unusual these days) the one article stated he spread rumors about her & just dirty according to her friends. He better have a good alibi, living off of his rich Mom's money he'd be able to fly to Co or drive, would be able to get home before anyone knew he was gone.

Then there is the married boyfriend & his wife....could they of hired someone to do away with her? Also the online dating places. She was a beautiful gal & put herself out there. I wish LE would find something & soon to help find her.

This time, I don't think it is the baby's father.

I think she met up with someone from the internet near the intersection. I imagine she had a quick afternoon date planned, and then she something went wrong.

I hope she didn't intentionally run away, but if she did want to dissappear, then she might have chosen to leave her DD with her brother.

Ex boyfriend in missing nurse case ducks police interview

"We are frustrated by the lack of cooperation involving Edward Vehle, and it causes us a great deal of concern that he is unwilling to cooperate or share any information that might be pertinent to this missing person’s investigation," said Kelley. "We have little recourse, at this point." Kelley added, "I can’t imagine the difficult position he has put himself in, in the San Antonio area. This is such big news down there, people knowing him, knowing where he lives. I think he has created some difficult circumstances for himself."

Yeah, that's a good way to get on LE's side - be a no-show! WTH is he thinking?! I haven't been thinking he's involved, but dang...want LE to look at you more closely? Refuse to show up when you say you will. This will be interesting to see how it plays out....

In my neck of the country they call it GUILT! They should just go & arrest him on charges of murder 1 even if it bogus!

Who does he think he is playing God??? It seems him living off his Mom's money makes him above the law! NOT!!!! Oh I am just boiling over this.......what a arrogant SOB! :banghead: :banghead: :furious: :furious: :furious:

  • #30
Well, obviously the police are not going to arrest someone for murder "bogus or not" because they failed to keep a scheduled appointment for an interview!

Now that I have read a little more about the ex-bf, I am more suspicious of him.

Also, I have read everything from him being very wealthy to him living with his mom. Does anyone know which is correct?

Either way, he really seemed to be inconvenienced by the child and child support order. :(

Falling in line behind Jodibug...
where did y'all hear about him living with his mother or ? I've missed that.

My guess is he is trying to hide income to keep child support to a minimum - if at all - so he uses mommy to pretend he has no income and must depend on someone else for his day to day living. I hope that the judge saw through that masquerade and that's why he ordered the amount of child support that he did. Some men will do anything to avoid paying child support.

From the we will believe it when we see it category, the interview is back on with Edward Vehle.

On another note, why no news of searches, news of flyers or vigils? Reward for information? If no money for reward, then a fundraiser.....all of the above activities get press and reach a new set of eyes. When news of the ex pops up people tune out. Also from what I am reading the story may be getting more press in San Antonio than in Littleton, where she went missing.

It has been 17 days!!!

He's retained a lawyer already and isn't talking? Hmmm......
I pulled this from the article that BG posted:
...On Sept. 21, a Bexar County, Texas, judge ordered Vehle to pay Dotson $10,000 in back child support, plus $900 a month until their toddler is 18. Dotson and Vehle never married, and her family has described him as having had no involvement in the child's parenting...

It's funny how Nonnie goes missing about a month after this court case. Guess who I think murdered her; and, yes, I think that she is dead.

How would the ex old foggy boyfriend have known that Nonnie went to visit her brother? It seems that he had no interest in her or the baby.

I can see him wanting to get rid of her because of the child support and all of that back child support but wouldn't he realize that he would have to take the baby and raise her if he wanted all of that support to go away? If he didn't raise her he would just be paying whoever ended up raising the baby like Nonnie's brother and his family. I don't think that he wanted anything to do with the baby.

I remember hearing that Nonnie had told someone that the service had done her wrong. I just wonder if she didn't just make the decision not to go back and finish out her last few months and just disappeared. She only had till March left though. Leaving the baby behind bothers me. Would she have done that? It doesn't seem like it.

I just wonder if she didn't run into someone or had planned to meet up with someone and something happened.

Her mother has reportedly said that story is false. That in fact, she had talked of joining the reserves after her commitment was up in March.

Edward Vehle has told authorities he was in Texas when Nonnie Dotson turned up missing. He also has provided supporting information on his whereabouts. Authorities have not commented on his interveiew with him

In other developments, the Air Force now lists Nonnie as as 'missing', this is a change from 'whereabouts unkown'. This comes after her commander's own investigation of the facts of the case.

Air Force lists status of nurse as 'missing'

The father of missing U.S. Air Force nurse Nonnie Ann Dotson’s child met with an investigator in Texas this afternoon, as scheduled, for an interview that didn't last an hour.

"I completely cooperated with the investigation," said Edward Vehle, 53, as he left the office of his San Antonio criminal defense lawyer, Jay S. Norton.
