CO CO - Nonnie Dotson, 33, Littleton, 19 Nov 2006

  • #121
One Saturday another RN that I work with and I went to Chatfield and Bear Creek with this in hand and tried to locate her remains, but found nothing. We pray she'll be found one of these days.

My heart goes out to everyone who knew Nonnie. She was so beautiful! I followed the case very close. It makes me sick she has never been found.
I sincerely pray eventually she'll be found.

I'm bumping this up because I find this case very interesting. Thanks to CNN and Nancy Grace's "Coldcase" column.

I know that LE officials do not think that Edward Vehle a suspect, but I do not agree. This man, who wanted absolutely nothing to do with his daughter (even requested a paternity test) all of a sudden decides to fight for custody. A man who was suppose to pay back child support of $10,000 and pay $900 a month for. Two months after that is decided in Court, Nonnie Dotson goes missing. It does not add up.

I know he finally met with LE, with his lawyer by his side, and turned over phone documents and an alibi as to where he was at the time Nonnie went missing. But, that does not mean he could not have been a part in this case. This stinks to high heaven. A 53 year old man who lives with his Mother, breaks off with Nonnie when he finds out she's pregnant, ignores this child for the first 18 months of her life, is held accountable for child support, and *then* sues for custody. After Nonnie disappears.

I'm sorry, but I find this so very disturbing on every level. Anyone else?

Nonnie Dotson disappeared Nov. 19, 2006.

Dotson, who was visiting her older brother in Jefferson County Colo., went out to supposedly to meet some friends.

"She just called down to him in the basement and said, 'Savannah is down for her nap. I'll see you later,'" said Candice Doyle, Nonnie's mother.

Nonnie, who had been prescribed eye drops she was supposed to use nightly, left them behind along with other belongings she may have needed for an extended stay, leading her mother to believe she had no intentions of staying away.

"There's no way my daughter would have left her daughter, and there's no way my daughter would have put me through what I've been through the last three years," Doyle said.

Thank you for bumping this up!

I couldn't remember her name, but have not forgotten her story and have wondered what has (or hasn't transpired). Glad to see her case will be focused upon.

Such a strange and sad case.

Nonnie's case was briefly shown previously, but it looks like she will be the feature case tonight on Nancy Grace, America's Missing. 9 pm Eastern, 6 pm Pacific.

Just four months away from leaving her post as an intensive-care nurse at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX Nonnie Dotson disappears while visiting family in Littleton, CO. The 33-year-old mother was taking some R & R while on leave for a pre-Thanksgiving holiday.

She was supposed to step out to meet friends at a nearby smoothie shop just about a half mile away from her brother’s home. She informed her brother she was leaving, but that was the last time she was heard from. When her 16 month old daughter woke up crying the next morning family discovered Nonnie never made it home the night before. There have been no suspects or even the smallest shred of evidence to help police determine what happened to Nonnie Dotson almost 5 years ago.

Watching this right now. Very bizarre. Nancy seems to think the brother or someone at the house may be involved. They did briefly show her name and picture on a previous show.

I've always been interested in this case. I didn't know the bro or someone at the house was of interest. That would make sense.

Bumping for Nonnie.....
I live just a short distance from the place they believe her cell phone was last used. There are miles of red rocks, and mountains just beyond there plus Chatfield Reservoir. Someone knows....... It's unfair that a little girls grows up not knowing what happened to her mother...:maddening:

Thank you for the info about the bones found. I grew up in Ken Caryl valley and know the area well. I found this report from the Jeffco sheriff and wonder why it states that there are no known reported missing persons who fit the profile. Nonnie is missing from only a few miles away and her remains would surely be skeletonized by now. Is there a thread for this UID?

Nonnie has been missing for 8 years today. Her brother has been in the news for rape and murder for hire against a woman and Nonnie is mentioned.

Dotson, 41, could face up to 24 years in prison if convicted of the solicitation-to-commit murder charge. He is awaiting sentencing and faces 31 years to life in prison for conviction on the sexual assault charges that he had tried to avoid by allegedly trying to have the victim killed.

The Denver Post reported in 2007 that Dotson was the last person in his family to see his sister, Nonnie Dotson, who went missing during a pre-Thanksgiving visit with him in 2006. Left behind by her disappearance was her 16-month-old daughter.
The brother was featured in newspaper reports for putting up fliers seeking information about the disappearance of his sister. Her case eventually moved from a missing person report to a homicide investigation, and her disappearance remains unsolved.
