Singing familiar children’s songs may be a great idea as you are searching @KayElJay. The details say that little Sebastian loves them, and my work with young children with autism bears that out. While he may not respond to his name, he may hear it if you sing it in a song. Whenever I was trying to connect with my young students with autism, I SANG whatever I needed them to pay attention to. I just used familiar tunes and inserted my own words as lyrics. People with autism often respond to and are comforted by the rhythm and predictability of music. Disney songs in particular are often favorites. THANK YOU for joining the search. May you be guided safely to help this precious child.

why would the US secret service be involved in missing child's case?

Little known fact: the Secret Service is partnered with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, a NPO created by Congress. Their mission is to aid in investigation for the NCMEC.

Hoping for a good outcome here.

Update 4 pm

EAGLE COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) – The search for a 3-year-old boy with autism continued Sunday in Eagle County. Search teams combed areas around Eagle, Gypsum and Dotsero looking for Sebastian Castro.

The teams include volunteers, mountain rescuers, dog teams and drones. Volunteers were asked to sign up online before helping crews.

More than 300 volunteers helped on Saturday before severe weather moved in.

Sebastian was reported missing June 5 at around 9:20 p.m. from the Eagle Villas apartments. A boy matching his description was seen at the playground on the property.

Hundreds Of Volunteers Comb Area For Missing Boy With Autism

3:09 pm

Authorities are using four dog teams and multiple UAV (drone) teams that will patrol the riverbanks, while land-based teams continue grid-based search efforts, including an extended area downstream into Garfield County.

They are asking people to not fly personal drones in the area, as it will prevent aerial operations from taking place. Additionally, current high water levels in the Eagle River have created extremely dangerous conditions in the river and along the riverbank, with numerous hazards identified, authorities said.

Search continues Sunday for missing 3-year-old from Eagle

I was hoping Sebastian would be found by now

An estimated 500-600 volunteers and first responders have spent countless hours searching for Sebastian Rodriguez Castro since he disappeared Friday night near the Eagle Villas Apartments in Eagle, Colorado. Search efforts have included ground searches, helicopters, multiple UAV (drone) teams, trained search and rescue dog teams, water rescue teams, FBI operations, and a 24-hour tip line for leads on Sebastian’s location. Search efforts have thus far been unsuccessful.

Late yesterday, an article of clothing that was positively identified as Sebastian’s was located in the Eagle River. As a result, the search area was expanded to include additional downstream areas. The phone he was carrying when he went missing was found today in the river below the apartment complex. Despite exhaustive efforts by both first responders and volunteers, we have been unable to find any other additional clues.

Land-based searches have been extensive, both in town and all surrounding areas. As a result, beginning tomorrow, we will be consolidating search efforts to focus on the river. Vail Mountain Rescue will continue to conduct water searches, and air operations will continue, but land-based searches will be suspended unless additional information becomes available.

My heart hurts for Sebastian's Mom, so many say she is a loving and very dedicated to him. All of us who are parents know it only takes a second :(
