Found Deceased CO - Sebastian Castro Rivas, 3, Eagle, 5 June 2020

  • #261
I don't know if anyone has mentioned it. But there was a drowning in the same area last May. Ryan Benjamin Kirby-Daniels. It took two months for him to be found due to the heavy flow and deep waters of the spring run off. He went missing in Edwards, which is to to the east of Eagle. He was found between Edwards and Walcott. There is a really wide stretch of river followed by a bottleneck just west of the area where this family lives. I hate to say it. But he was a small child, and it's a big river. It's very difficult to find something that small in a big river.
It's taken longer than I thought but I am unfamiliar with drownings in rivers I think maybe the Eagle River being a tributary of the Colorado along with the spring run off presents a variety of challenges to search teams, even highly trained ones. At this point it looks like it will be a recovery mission. Poor little guy.

I was just wondering if anyone on here knows, is it odd to find an article of clothing like Sebastion's red shoe but no other articles of clothing ?

That is mind boggling. Poor angels... The baby girl was found on the fourth day and the boy on the fifth.

Interesting information regarding how far they travelled, posted by People.com:

“The first body was located 45 miles away—traveling through about 100 miles of waterway before being found, authorities said. The second one was located closer to where the pair were reported missing in east Tulsa, traveling only about 15 miles of waterway.”
100 miles of waterway, that's mind boggling. It really is.

Sebastian’s father, Manuel Rodriguez, spoke to Univision earlier this month, according to Fox 31, and claimed Sebastian may have jumped from an upstairs apartment balcony.

Rodriguez said that at one point, Sebastian was alone at the apartment after returning home from the park with his mother.

“He never goes to the balcony when it’s night time, but he did and must have jumped,” Rodriquez said.

Hi Ms.Marple, I saw the video of Sebastion's father with a news reporter. They showed the patio with a gate Sebastion must have claimed over. Their apartment is on the first floor. So Sebastion didn't jump out of the balcony as first reported.

Was he lost on the playground or did he climb out of the apartment?

Yes, it’s a mistake. Their apartment is a first floor apartment. He climbed the gate and got out the back. He was unattended (because the dad didn’t know the mom left Sebastian with him so she could take a smoking break out front) for 3 minutes while the dad washed the dishes.

See this is what bothers me, the Dad talks to a Spanish station (Univision) and here comes an English speaking station (Fox 31) and finds someone unqualified to translate the dad’s interview. That is totally unacceptable! There are so many mistyped facts out there regarding this poor child! Someone should let Leigh know this.

He climbed over a gate that surrounds a small patio at the back of their first floor apartment. They showed it on the video.

We don’t know. There are two versions.

One were witnesses said they saw the boy by himself. Plus the camera only captured him at the playground, not his mom or cousin.

The other version is mom, cousin and him went for their long 1 hour and a half walk, back to Eagle villas and to the playground. Then to the apartment. Mom leaves Sebastian with dad while she goes smoking out the front door. Dad who was washing dishes didn’t notice he was there. Mom comes back in asks dad where Sebastian is and dad says he thought he was with her. Then they start looking for him and deduct he went out the back sliding door cause dad always leaves it open while mom and Sebastian are out to keep apartment cool.

I do wonder where is the cousin during all this...

If he jumped from an upstairs balcony, he would have had some serious injuries, possibly broken bones.

Curiosity, he did not. His dad never said that.

I am just responding to what Ms.Maple posted. I know he didn't jump off a balcony.

So the dad never seen the baby come back from that trip with his mom...

Perhaps they originally went with the playground story to save their hides? Its hard to believe that when a child is missing, you're more concerned with saving face then telling the factual truth that could possibly have been helpful in the beginning

Hello my WS peeps! Every morning I check this thread first and am half hopeful/half afraid to see the header updated.
At first I truly believed that poor Sebastian did go into the river but as with more cases, the more people talk, and the more “facts” that come out, I am starting to wonder.
I’m on a very narrow fence, which I’m not used to, and the breeze is starting to tip me in another direction.

I hope they checked area dumpsters....I'm doubting the fell in the river story now.
