I think this needs to be added to the theories. He could have done this in his sleep and then awoke and then tried to cover his tracks.

Homicidal sleepwalking - Wikipedia

You have got to be kidding me

It seems like with this theory you have finally accepted that the facts support CW killing all 3, and are now trying to concoct another theory where he wouldn't be at fault, right?

There are no facts yet of what happen to the children. So let’s blame the dad!
Did he know if they were dead or alive before he threw them into oil vats? Have you seen those facts yet? You opine that she flipped because he said he is leaving with the kids. Then what would be the explanation for him not calling ems to try to save their lives? anyway thanks for the humor.

It’s really mind boggling the folks who immediately go to guilty without seeing the facts of the case.

Of course, innocent men would dump small children in oil tanks. And bury their wives in a shallow grave. And lie extensively to news reporters.

Those facts are evident.

CW would be strike a jackpot with a jury filled with people like you. Which is exactly what I am concerned about.

However, he is in jail, without bond. That means LEO has more evidence than has been released at this time.

Please explain to me why a man who saved his children from a crazed Mother who just killed them, would not call the police? And using drugs, being panicked is not a reasonable defense.

SP had more time though and people actually believed he had nothing to do with it, including Laci's family. I think AP was talking to LE in this case from day one or two. I don't really think CW did this to be with her.

I agree with you. I don't really think he killed his wife and children to be with AP.

Why would she get the kids - just because she was staying home. Maybe he wanted to stay home and look after them but she couldn’t earn enough to support the family. Sorry not an attack on you but I hate the way it’s assumed the mother will get custody because she looks after them whilst the lazy fathers go and earn the money to support everyone
So, if they separated was he going to carry the baby for the next five months? She was pregnant. I am pretty sure that he would not be awarded full custody of those children.

It is out there, along with pics.
I think I have a different name and different pics. But that’s just what I think.

Again just because someone can look after kids and cook and clean doesn’t mean they can do all that whilst working a full time job. I believe a person (any person) would be worried about taking on the other partners reaponsobilities whether that is home maker or main wage earner.
She had other responsibilities. Not just the kids and house. She even held a previous job outside of the home while her oldest was younger.

I alluded to this earlier. I think maybe inside she feared she had hurt herself or the kids. Again SHE HAS NOT indicated that, but I think it’s possible.
You’re right, NUA never indicated that. She and others HAVE indicated however, SW & CW were planning on separating & that C.W. May be having an affair (which he lied about at 1st and then confessed to). So when someone shows you they are a liar, what makes them suddenly believable??

PS. You lament we have “no facts” but we do based on the arrest report and what has been revealed by reports of witnesses. You also have the same facts, which you wholly ignore & discount to base your “theory”.

What a spendard, spectacular defense: "Your honor, I was sleep walking and just happened to murder my three-year old and four-year old daughters, then whilst I was still sleeping I put them in my truck, drove to the oil tanks, climbed a ladder or two and deposited them into the hot oil. I then drove home and murdered my pregnant wife, drove her dead body into the oil field, wrapped in our 600 count bedsheet, dug her grave and buried her. I then drove myself home, gave an outstanding interview, where I must admit I did come across as dashing. But golly gee, I suddenly awoke and here I am".....grin.

Now I have "These Eyes" by the Guess Who stuck in my head....could you link me a photo, please. Of her or him??

It reminds me of the notes written by "Mysterious Unidentified Woman from Longview, TX..." Can I hear it from my fellow sleuthers, yeahhhhh! Such a true crime nerd.

Because I believe there is more to it. That’s all.
Please tell us this More to It. Or at least your theory of what More to It there is.

Why are you not as relieved as most others that NU went to check on Shannan ? What do you think would have happened next had NU not came to check on Shannan?

My assumption differs from yours. My assumption was that that was seen and collected on the day they had a warrantless search, the first day they were there. I don't think we have seen the results of anything from a search warrant which I would assume has much after he was arrested. A search warrant has not been released, nor as far as what the warrant return was as far as I have seen.
You may be right, but I lean heavily toward them being the sheets/cases that went with the "bedding" found on the floor. The arrest document refers to bedding generically--what the officers saw in a cursory sweep of the room. I'm thinking it's likely the master bed would have decorative pillows/coverings, etc., that would make an impressive heap. The arrest document says that the sheet found with SW matched cases and a sheet found in the garbage "earlier that day." Is it possible the garbage bags were removed from the home by LE and the sheet/cases were found later? Seems like CW might've forgotten they were in the garbage/didn't have an opportunity to completely remove the trash from his house.

No. That would never happen in a court setting. That's untrue.

Also, I would've understood that paragraph long before I ever went to law school.

And defense attorneys and prosecutors are going to be very good at relating to people from all walks of life and education levels. It's their job to be able to explain things well to laypeople and break things down easily.

But regardless, I really think you don't have to go to college to understand that paragraph. It doesn't even include complex words like obfuscation. Plenty of normal people who don't go to college are smart. And most US citizens regardless of education level have common sense and can read and understand English.

Gitana,

I'll have to agree with the original poster. I've seen too many cases where they went to ask the judge for clarification, and the judge would not give them clarification. We've gone over it many times as far as Talking in Threads to explain it to folks during a trial. For instance if it is wet outside in the morning and on everybody's yard, did it rain! We've had to do that for so many cases that I think there is a confusion and people get really anal retentive and want to understand it properly.

Which facts are we overlooking?

I'm new, good evening to you all. I've been in the background since the Helen Bailey and Sadie Hartley murders. I live in Spain, and am English. Like everyone across the world, and especially since I fear I was married to a CW type of character once upon a time, I've been reading in depth some posts ... so much to wade through... and admittedly speed read through a lot of other posts. I can't help but think, and this is just my opinion... How the heck did CW manage to do all of this on his own? He doesn't strike me as the most motivated person on this earth, quite laid back and from my observations, rather dull. He must have been quite jacked up on some or other substance. Or had some help somewhere along the line. IMO.

Not necessarily. I feel almost dirty even thinking of “how he could have done it” because it feels so wicked...but if he killed the girls before his wife came home...they were tiny. They could have even been sleeping, so he could have done one at a time. And then they were lightweight and easy to “dispose” of, I guess. :-( And then when his wife got home, he just had to worry about doing her in. She might have been more difficult, but then she wasn’t “disposed of” nearly as neatly, so it makes sense that he struggled more with her “disposal”. I don’t think it would have been hard for him to do it himself.... I mean, for a crazy insane person, which he had to have been. I can’t imagine anyone who could actually plan and go through with something that psycho, but evidently he managed. Blah.

I would have hoped that with time he would have driven to LE and admitted what they both did, likely leaving out the mistress part.

She would get the kids because she wasn't the type of person to murder them one night and then dump their bodies in oil tanks.
Agree but the post o replied to implied she would get them because she stayed at home and did the home maker things. That doesn’t always mean they are the best person to have the kids, often the father would love to be the home maker but can’t because someone needs to earn money. Yes we know believe he is a murderer so obviously he shouldn’t have got custody but not because he had to work for a living

Looks as though he is enjoying the attention. I suppose talking to the media was more enjoyable for him than talking to LE.
Did anyone notice at times during the media interview his lips would curl as though he found contempt about the subject? IMO

Yes. Even Scott Peterson had sense enough to fake-cry.
