Chelly, with respect---CW didn't confess to a murder. Go back and look at the affidavit. (I'm not in the fan club, just making the point.)
Bill Carson: From post #1 on this thread:

Sad news ...

I just reread it right before coming back here and finding your post, and you’re right, it does skimp on evidence. It was written Aug 16, the day after the arrest. I assume because C.W. confessed to Shanann ‘s murder that gave them enough to arrest him, and enabled them to skimp on evidence in the report. One part that stood out to me is all the detail concerning Shanann’s cell phone. They took possession of her phone shortly after they arrived the day she was reported missing, and with CW’s consent took it with them to the police station. I’m hoping this means that evidence they plan to use against CW is on that phone. If it’s true that Shanann knew the marriage was in trouble and they were headed for a separation, you would think there would be plenty of emails and texts about it on her phone. They were apart for 5 weeks, plus the weekend she was in Arizona. Her state of mind, her feelings about their marriage, him, their future, her level of pain and anguish, all of that would be there.
She had a large SM presence, it's going to be a nightmare for the techs. and officers to sift through it all! It will probably take months. Really don't envy them.

He sure didn’t!

Would you be on this thread watching your dead friend get trashed by people who don't know her, via disgusting, baseless speculation?

This is so depressing, we have run off a VI. I really am upset this happened because she specifically said she was here to help process what has happened to Shanann and the girls with us. :(

I feel like they would have checked those oil tanks just because the spouse automatically has to be cleared in suspicious cases where their family members go missing, and checking out his place of employment would have been on the top of their list.

Did he go to those tanks for work? Were they being used presently? How many oil tanks and locations does the company have?

What exactly is his job? When he came home in the video where he learned about the baby, he was very clean

Look, I have been on the opposite side of the masses. On a pop case out of rural IN, me and a tiny minority of others didn't think a certain criminal arrested in CO was responsible for that crime (other crimes, yes, but not that one). So I know how it feels to be kind of out in the north 40 on your own. And yes, some posters accused us of being in a fan club. That angered me.

But this isn't the same thing. Nobody was victim bashing in that thread-we argued over the perp but ALL agreed that the girls needed justice.

Here, the victim's name (she was pregnant and murdered, she is a victim) has been dragged through the mud. It's not just that some think she might be responsible, if stated in a logical and respectful way that would at least be palatable, she has literally been accused of voodoo, drugs, and suicidal tendencies based on absolutely nothing.

There are other sites out there, sites with zero rules and imaginative posters, that aren't even going there.

I don't know what the official answer is, but I personally don't think she needs yet another place talking smack about her. We don't know what all she knew or what her situation is... I prefer to err on the side of caution and not post her name here; we can discuss the situation without dragging her name into it, imo.

I've taken a break for a day or so to see if things would calm a little and it seems like it's just getting worse, with more bandwagon activity. What on earth is going on? This has become little more than a CW defense thread now? He's now not even a murderer?!

I know there are rules and TOS for discussing his version but honestly, I feel horrible for the VI and for Shanann and her family. This is just beyond.

Are there any rules for protecting victims and families when this kind of thing happens?

Without saying her name. I have read that she is married and has children. All of her social media has been scrubbed.
I did see one picture of her. IMO Shannan is much better looking.

MODs if not allowed, please delete. Respectfully

And who is this "fan club" anyway?

Are we not allowed to have different opinions or thoughts or ask questions or seek more information etc? Rhetorical, as we are indeed allowed, just must stay within TOS.
It seems to me that opinions and theories should have at least a little fact to them. It’s starting to feel like “Aliens did it” will be coming next. And because my heart is so broken over the suffering Shanann, Bella, and CeCe endured, it hurts me to see disparaging comments about Shanann based on how someone interprets what they see as a crazy look in her eye in one picture on her FB page. I feel like I have to stand up for Shanann, but I’m going to try to ignore.

I’m not sure we can say she is a murder victim just yet. He admitted to killing her but not murdeing her.

According to Frankie Rzucek, Shanann's brother, he did. On his FB page on 8/16 he said " he has admitted to killing all my family".

Fair points. I don't know how many locations the company has or what his job was within the company.

Thank goodness for GPS. They probably know exactly which tanks he visited, unless he stopped at several to complicate a search.

Yes, to the BBM above.

And it should be really interesting to hear his voice messages/texts to her, the next morning.

I am thinking that he figured out he fooled the cops, so the messages will be very 'scottpeterson' type messages---'hey babe, how ar u and my girls, give me a call when u can' type of BS.

If they are sweet, phony messages, then that makes no sense with his story that he asked for a separation that morning.

Also, his interview, where he said he thought she didn't pick up because she was busy. Well, if he had asked for a separation, why would he expect her to pick up his calls. I would probably block my husband's calls and work on getting the locks changed before he returned home after work.

I couldn't agree more! My thoughts are CW is very Scott Peterson(ish). I would go so far as to consider him as a Scott Peterson+, because in addition to the murders of his pregnant wife and unborn child, two innocent little girls were also murdered.

IMO, CW apparently really thought LE (and others) were going to believe that a pregnant woman is going to take her little girls on a play date just hours after her husband tells her he wants a separation. She would be doing a lot of things that day, all designed with the intention of protecting herself and her children. She is also probably also going to call at least one close friend because she is going to need emotional support. His most recent story is even more bizarre and illogical.

This reminds me of Scott Peterson when he told Diane Sawyer that he told Laci that he was having an affair (weeks before she "disappeared") and that Laci had been "fine" with it. Diane Sawyer asked him if he really expected people to believe that an 8 month pregnant woman is going to be fine with her husband having an affair and make peace with it. I think Scott Peterson really thought people would buy anything he tried to sell them because he'd been very successfully lying and tricking people for years. I think the same is also true for CW.

If he actually left vc's and text messages for SW that day, they will likely prove to be very interesting!

The things said about the McStay family were vile and disgusting. Especially on other threads.
I found it very upsetting.

Would you be on this thread watching your dead friend get trashed by people who don't know her, via disgusting, baseless speculation?

I know no one wants to back me up but surely someone agrees with me that he didn’t confess to murdering them all!!??

Welcome to the thread @ Carolina Mom. I want to comment on your statement about CW's Dad, because things got ugly here after earlier posts became accusatory of Dad giving CW his defense and/or implicating him. It's been reported that CW spent Tuesday night at home of friends N & A, and that CW left their house late Wednesday morning, to collect his Dad from airport. Reported that CW & Dad voluntarily went to Fredrick Police Station where CW was reportedly interviewed for hours before partially confessing; CW then requested permission to speak with his Dad, and if granted permission, promised to tell LE the location of the bodies. It was later reported that CW's family encouraged him to cooperate with LE.

IMO, CW knew that he'd never see his Dad again, except under jail/custody conditions, and therefore bargained with LE for this opportunity to see/talk to him, and possibly confess to Dad. I believe if he'd previously confessed to his Dad, they probably would have first sought advice of counsel , and then arranged to turn himself in. JMO.

Late Edit: CW request and LE permission to speak to his Dad is cited in the Arrest Affidavit. Of course the warrant doesn't give us the details of how much time they were allowed to speak, etc......

Ok. Thank you for letting me know. I haven't read this entire post. If I can figure it out, I will post a late edit.

Has it been confirmed that the girls were dead before being put in the oil tank?

Investigators have stated that they believe SW & the girls died in their home. I’m assuming this is based on what CW told them & possibly what the dogs picked up on.
