Yes, if it wasn't premeditated, what I still believe it was to some extent, he may have snapped after something that was happening that day, like the younger one throwing many tantrums etc. The kids were just several weeks with mommy alone, him by himself. He forgot how hard parenting sometimes is. And then an entire weekend with the girls alone right after.

This is absolutely no excuse of what has happened, just trying to understand. I could though relate to him being overwhelmed with the kids on that weekend. Again, absolutely no excuse for murder of course.

What we have, at the moment, all leads to the same scenario. There was no big fight in the small hours.

I think CW knew he was done when he was in the midst of the interview and heard the dogs barking (alerting) inside his home. The look on his face says it all. Starts 3:50

Also, in this video with news reporter CW says the canine dogs are getting scents to see where they went. I actually think CW thought the dogs were just there to get scents of the missing family but I believe the dogs were there for the scent of death and CW didn't realize that because he thought they were just there getting their scents to see where they went in what direction.

As a teacher of children who had many hours of training to provide safe and respectful classrooms for children, I am not sanctimonious. I stand for children and I always will.

People uses children to fulfill their needs. For instance, the parents at children’s athletic events that scream at the coach and their children.

Ask yourself, “ Is this for you or for your child?”

Gone are the days when kids played outside with peers and came in for lunch and dinner. Now parents are over involved in their kid’s lives. Ask any college prof if they get parents calling about their child's grade.

Children are not some kind of props or ego extensions for adults.

There are many fine examples of teachers and teachings to follow such as Magda Gerber , Bev Bos, Adverse Childhood Experiences.

If what parents are doing is all right, we would not have so many adults with issues from childhood.

Children need to be respected as much as adults. Their bodies, feelings, boundaries, likes and dislikes are to be valued not subjegated by adult needs

Creepy, yes. Much so. That said, I think I read somewhere in these threads that a cousin (of which spouse I cannot recall) was the matchmaker here, initially. (No, not really a matchmaker, but made the suggestion to ..him?, to her?). Does anyone recall?

It's totally possible legal cannabis for SW's lupus and the girls' immune problems could have been one of the factors in the move but I think it was the prospect of better jobs. SW's friends had gone to CO before them. I don't know the laws in NC, but it seems likely that SW and the girls would qualify for medical marijuana prescriptions.

In a video, SW said that she bought the NC house when she was 25 with the plan to resell it and make a profit. I believe she did it. A quick sale that included the furniture is not uncommon. CW was already in CO.
SW wanted to join him ASAP.

Based on these documents, here is a summation of the transactions regarding her NC house.

11/30/2009 – Shanann Cathryn King, unmarried, Grantee, on Deed for purchase of house.
12/1/2009 – Purchase price stated as $334,500.00.
12/1/2009 – FHA Mortgage stated as $309,065.00 for 30 years.

IMO, this confirms that SW bought the house as a single woman and made a down payment of approximately $25K. She was the only person on this mortgage.

8/17/2012 – House was sold for $350,000.00. Conveyance of property was signed in Colorado.

Average FHA interest rate for November 2009 was 5.23%. Assuming that first payment was made on 1/1/2010, the balance would have been approximately $296,874 when she sold the house. Standard realtor fees are 6% in most states.

House sales price = $350,000.00
Mortgage balance = - 296,874.00
Realtor fees = - 21,000.00
Net profit = $ 32,126.00
Orig. down pay = - 25,435.00
Overall net profit = $ 6,691.00

IMO, it is unfortunate that SW did not realize the great profit that she anticipated. However, she did get her original investment back plus a small profit. At 27/28, this was an accomplishment.

Hadn't thought about it before but yes in a lot of child abuse cases, bed wetting is usually part of it.

I get that his actions seemed flippant, but, really, what is the correct meal for that situation?

When horrible family tragedies have occurred with me, those close to me insisted I continued to eat and sleep and breathe.

I'm reminded of when my child was killed. If I was crying, the whispers were that I was "hysterical" or "guilt-ridden," all of which meant I was horrible and had done something to cause this tragedy. If I wasn't crying, then it was "she's so cold," "too stoic," all of which meant I was horrible and had done something to cause this tragedy. I wasn't horrible. I didn't cause any of it. I was an emotional, grieving, terrified, very young mother with a multitude of emotions. There are some situations that are "no win," and this was one for CW--he's an abhorrent #$&@, so really there's nothing he could have done or eaten then which would make anything better NOW.

Shrug. Perhaps pizza was all he could stomach. I can sleep anywhere anytime and especially under stress--it's an escape.

BBM According to the affidavit, Det. Baumhover noticed that the master bed was stripped of its bedding, and was lying on the floor. This took place on Monday and we don't know if bedding means comforter, pillows, or what exactly.

Also according to the affidavit, police found the pillowcases and top sheet in the kitchen trash on Wednesday.

IMO, the sheet found out at disposal site was the fitted sheet that matched the top sheet and pillowcases in the trash, all from the master bedroom. FWIW

Yes, It's been reported that the sheet pattern found at disposal sight did in fact match the sheet pattern found in home garbage.
