I'm sorry I can't fill in the gap for you. If there was something reported between 12 pm and 1:40 pm I don't remember it. Anybody?

My impression was that he was stalling her until she couldn't wait anymore and called police.

I know she said her son or brother saw the car in the garage with car seats intact? They would have had to have found a way to look into those garage windows. They are small and high up. She may have backed her car up and stood on the hood. I would have tried that. Just a thought about the time frames, etc.

I’ve not read where they found a bag at the dump site? Is this new information?
It is. No details on where at the dump site the bag was found, how many were found, or what type of bags they were. I’m assuming trash bags, because they were able to develop prints on them.

Question for any Attorney’s out there (or anyone) ..
if the DA asked for footprints of C.W. based on evidence #26 taken from where the bodies were discovered, and CW denies giving those footprints.... could that lead a jury to question why the DA wanted the footprints & cause reasonable doubt? Since C.W. confessed to killing SW, lived in the home, drove the truck, worked in the oil fields (although we don’t know if that particular one, CERVI 319. ) and on and on where his bare feet may have been. Scares me they are asking for these ....I’m not saying an accomplice, I’m worried more about creating reasonable doubt.

It will be a very interesting trial. At this stage I'm not thinking any of his AP's were involved. Allegedly. MOO MOO.

I'm not implying an AP involvement on my theory. Just the possibility(speculation) of an accomplice. MOO MOO MOO

I think that the jury would be more likely to see it the opposite way.

During the course of this investigation, items of evidence have been collected and have been sent to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation for testing. Upon receiving these items an Agent with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation developed possible bare foot impressions, using their normal latent print process for non-porous items. These impressions were developed from a bag (Frederick Police Department Item #26) which was collected at the scene where the victim’s bodies were located.

Not a lawyer, but I have seen atleast one episode of Perry Mason, which makes me a qualified expert.

The judge will approve these prosecution requests (DNA, prints). As long as the prosecution has probable cause. There is no reason to deny the requests, as they are in the interest of justice.

The prosecution wants to put CW at the scene, while simultaneously ruling out any other contributing person (another suspect).

The more doors closed to the defense, the better.

*All my opinion

NUA reportedly talked to CW when no answer at the door, she listened to the "play date story," and walked the neighborhood looking for SW and the girls as they were not answering and appeared to be on foot (i.e., her auto in garage). When NUA relayed to CW they were nowhere to be found in the hood, and CW still blew her off, she announced she was calling police and did just that. MOO

So if they found footprints and want to get his, does that mean he was barefoot at the oil site? He took this shoes off to maybe not have any evidence on them?
IMO, he stepped barefoot on the bag in the house before leaving.
I do not think he removed his shoes at the well site for several reasons. 1. The soil is rough and pebbly. 2. Metal stair treads have open grate, serrated grate and/or a nubby sure grip that would make it difficult to climb barefoot. MOO

I thought I remembered that she talked to neighbors and/or walked the neighborhood but I couldn't find the dang article. Thank you! :)

ETA: Some of those early articles are hard to search because they were not using her name yet. They just read, "friend."

After flying, I always feel filthy. I could never go to bed after a flight no matter what time I would get home. I would have to take a shower. The airport waitimg areas and the bathrooms. And the planes themselves. Ugh .

Perhaps others are not that way. She was so fastidious in other ways. So if she did take a shower, I imagine her watch would be taken off.
Fatigue from lupus, jam packed travel/entertain/travel + delay, and 2nd trimester pregnant, I envision her hitting the sack immediately after kissing the girls while sleeping. (guess I thought/typed outloud too much, the girls might have already been murdered). *heavy sigh*

I suppose that’s possible. But having the sense to cover one’s feet, is contrary to the reckless actions of leaving that evidence behind at the crime scene. This includes that bedsheet as well.

Lack of time? I think. He merely did not have the time to get back and pretty up the site. Maybe someone scared him off, or he himself got scared and ran away. And then the police acted too fast for him to return and finish the job.

Yeah I agree. I think he rushed, and made huge mistakes in the process. It’s just shocking that he left atleast one bag, and a bedsheet at the scene.

Then again this whole case is shocking.

Warning: graphic post about lividity

I keep thinking about him throwing his children's bodies in the oil tanks. ANY disposal other than a proper burial would disgust me, but to throw them into something that has literally caused environmental catastrophes (BP oil spill, Alaska oil spill, etc.) just seems a little extra. I've seen people post that perhaps CW wasn't thinking clearly or, worse, didn't think it was so bad in those oil tanks. And then I've seen people post that we shouldn't judge because we weren't in his shoes.

>>>very respectfully snipped by me<<<

CW seems to be a man who cares about his appearance: he has lost weight and toned up and has a manicured beard. He wears nice clothes. Yet he apparently thought nothing of crude oil marring his daughters' skin, matting their hair. And I was worried about a one-inch stream of blood.

Oh my, how beautifully and respectfully said. I can't imagine. But you treated your beloved child the way many, many of us would have. A perfect gift -- unique in its wonder. Respect for life's most wonderful creation.Thank you for sharing those remarks with us.

I did think of CW's handling of those precious little girls, and I am sure that if SW had seen it, she would have probably killed him however she could have. Those acts alone, him hiding them where he did, almost make the killings secondary to what he did with the bodies, but of course they matter in the biggest way possible. He treated them like so much trash he wanted to get out of his house -- just sweep it all out the door -- all three of them -- throw the detritus far away. Get a good night's sleep, and there will be a new tomorrow. Far and away beyond understanding.

Christopher Watts case: Weld DA requests footprints to compare to evidence found near bodies

In a court order responding to this motion, 19th Judicial District Judge Marcelo Kopcow wrote that this motion is similar to a motion filed by the district attorney's office on Sept. 12 requesting cheek swabs, finger and palm prints, and photos of both of Watts' hands.

The defense objected to the Sept. 12 motion, saying that forcing Watts to provide what the court described as "non-testimonial evidence" violates his constitutional rights against unreasonable search and seizure and self-incrimination.

Because of the similar nature of the two motions, Kopcow ordered the defense to have a response to the new motion filed earlier than usual, by Sept. 20. The district attorney's office will then have until Sept. 24 to file a reply.

Yes, they will have form motions/orders/responses depending on the legal issue that they can further tailor to each clients defense.

Westlaw and Lexis Nexis are two databases used for legal research.
Thank you.

This is what makes me question the sequence. She would have entered their rooms. Either she screamed when she saw an empty bed and this is what people perceived as the dog wailing, or perhaps she was attacked by CW at that point. I mean, she had to feel that the girls were not in the house if they were dead. So I think he killed her first, and then, the girls - it does not take much for a guy of his height and strength.

Or else, she never had the chance and everything happened on the 1st floor.
