Fantastic...one quick addition:

There is no evidence (quite to the contrary) that SW would not have dialed 911 to save her child she found actively being strangled. There is evidence CW did not by his own admission and 911 records.
Absolutely true! Thanks! Bravo!

I know people have said that a few things were taken down from SW’s Facebook (what/why do you think that happened?), but is anyone surprised that someone associated with SW’s social media accounts hasn’t taken more stuff down or made them private? Maybe they feel there is nothing to hide, or that it would look bad to lock stuff down?

Yes. Denial is a powerful thing.

While many Ponder if he will be getting a death sentence vs. life,

he gave his wife and three children a death sentence,

.....and for the living family (on both sides of the family) and friends and for those who came to know and love them,

he gave them ALL a life sentence.

Yeah, I’m shocked it’s still up at all, as it has been “weaponized” by some.

It’s tough to figure out what their motivation is, without knowing specifically, what was taken down to begin with.

BBM.

Yes, I agree. By making her fb posts "public," whenever any of her friends would comment on her posts, or 'like' her posts, then her friends' friends would see her posts, too, so by doing that it was a good way to extend her "reach," as they call it. Yeah, I feel certain you are right, that this was her intention.
Very true! I am 50. Folks I know older than me are VERY guarded online. Forget business/networking. FB for them is to share with FAMILY/close friends. Friends, say, 35 and younger (millennials) don't care, in GENERAL. They are of the mindset "if you don't like it, don't read my posts." And if you're trying to sell online, the more the merrier so a public/worldwide setting is the more the merrier to many. That said, many of her non-promotion "Look at how great I feel now with Thrive" videos could have been reserved for family only and others could have been edited

I am VERY surprised the whole account was not taken down by authorities. For the few cases I've followed it seemed like their accounts were invisible almost instantly. I found it odd that just her past 2 months' of posts were removed. Some said by family. But who would know her password? That always struck me as odd. Of course maybe LE left it up to hope posters would give some clues, but then why wipe the recent 2 months of posts???
ETA: I did NOT do a double quote here so no idea why the top quote/reference is here!!

Your dad was a smart man. Lots of people get in trouble because they think they have done nothing wrong or they think "if I just explain it then they'll understand," and it comes back to haunt them.

Many years ago, due to following trials here, I learned there are three things to say in this order I think.

#1) am I being detained ?
#2) am I free to go?
#3) I would like a lawyer.

Do I have that right?

AFAIK there was a male AP TB who popped up and went on the talkshow circuit but he is not verified.
There is a female AP that is allegedly from Andarko, his work.
Not sure about others who told MSM about strangulation and rape fantasies, that has not been verified afaik.
AP worked for Andarko, not Thrive afaik.
MOO MOO

Or perhaps she was a consultant for Anadarko.

So someone who currently is in control of SW's Facebook account has removed things and you want to know why this unknown person hasn't done more removals?

I want to know who this person is. It may make things more clear. JMO

I’m sure friends & family have been advised to stay quiet to protect the investigation. JMO
I agree but I also think, even if they 100% believe his confession, it is not a good job to have to defend CW in public so soon after he admits to lying to everyone, including the police, and asking the public to spend resources to find a "missing" family. Or the non existent 911 call to save the children. Or the cover up - dumping children in tanks of crude oil, etc. It's a tough job to answer for that, IMO.

Does anyone believe Shanann lied about being told she cold not have kids?

Can a lawyer here have some input.

I thought the arraignment was waived.

And the next one was a status conference.

And if my understanding is correct, the arraignment may/would have given more information as to their charges versus just the arrest affidavit.( some folks refer to it as a mini-trial to get stuff on the table as to the evidence they have)

Am I correct in thinking that if they do that,( waive the arraignment) criminals do that so that more information does not get out into the public. And going straight to the status conference skips that part where a lot of stuff could have been public.

Also, since he waived his arraignment, does the 63 days start from when it was supposed to be, and not from the status conference in November which some media Outlets are saying?

There are three lawyers on this thread, and hopefully some of them will input to this question.

Thank you in advance for taking your time to answer the questions above.

@dixiegirl1035

There are actually four of us! @Alethea is also a verified attorney!

The preliminary hearing was waived during the formal reading of the charges. However, CW has reserved his right to have his hearing at a later date. The next court appearance is scheduled as a status conference. The 63 day time period starts once he has his preliminary hearing.

I do think it was a tactical decision to have the preliminary hearing at a later time. This allows more time to review what evidence the prosecution has (without making it public), and provides more time to negotiate a plea deal.

Yes, BUT she could have shared all of that to "friends only" or even just specific friends without privacy being set to "public" for all the world to see. (By default, nearly all of my fb posts are to "friends only.")

With multi-level marketing, the goal is to have it shared by your friends to other new people that you don't know or you are not friends with already downline. ( this is not my opinion, it is the opinion of my family member who is in multi-level marketing.)

Many folks here have seen that they cannot share things on Facebook, because of their privacy settings.

Therefore people in multi-level marketing have it completely open to be shared.

Not sure if he will face the DP though, its been talked about here as CO has not carried out a DP in decades.
Not a lawyer but perhaps they will use the DP as a bargaining plea deal?
I’m not,a lawyer either but I think you are correct about negotiating a plea deal. And that will depend on if there is any evidence that comes out of the forensics that his story might be true.

However, the Death Penalty is on an artificial hold IMO. There were plenty of people that wanted to see the execution of Nathan Dunlap carried out. But when the time came, there were petitions to keep him alive. He was young when the crime occurred and apparently he has been a good prisoner. Hickenlooper, as I recall, couldn’t make a decision and deferred it to the next Governor. He will be leaving office in January. So I would look to next year sometime before we hear more about the Death Penalty in Colorado.

She wasn't told she couldn't have kids. She, most likely was given the standard lupus speach about how SOME women with Lupus can not get pregnant, or can not carry a baby to term.

As far as I know, they don't give the " you might have 5 years to live " anymore. I could be wrong, that speach left me paralyzed in terror for awhile.

Something to think about....

We don't know that SW made all of her SM public. She very well might have made lots of posts with a limited audience, but we can't "see" that.

So we have to keep two things in mind: 1) what we know, and 2) what we don't know.

Also, I think the prosecution will be able to recreate all of CW's social media, and the defense will have access to that before trial, so there's a chance we will see some of that at trial.

FACT:
CW was having an ongoing affair at the time SW,BW,and CW passed.

Was CW Affair Person(AP) a MALE or FEMALE?
Did AP work for ANADARKO or THRIVE?

I see that you are a new member and you may want to revisit the terms of service at this site.

The legal document said it was a co-worker. To sleuth more than that I think is against terms of service here at this site. Unless of course it is in mainstream media. But we have not seen it in mainstream media, moo

In her Lupus video though didn't she say she was told she couldn't have kids?

Clearly it's valid to discuss the theory that he's innocent. And I think an examination of who these people were and how they interacted with one another and the world is fair.

That being said, some of the stuff I've seen here and on the internet in general has been horrible and utterly baseless, IMO. And uncessarily victim- bashing.

It's hard to draw a line for sure. But I've been appalled. And felt motivated to defend this poor woman and her family and friends.

There's a way to have an intellectual debate about the possibility of his innocence without making ludicrous insinuations about her character based on out of context and cherry-picked social media posts.

Example? For me, there's a difference between, "You know, I've seen some things here in her SM that make me wonder: Are there any signs of X here? Let's find some info on X and see if anything fits."

And "Wow. Look at her closets. Yup, she's got BPD."

My two cents.
Totally agree. Poor woman is having her character ripped apart based on some SM posts. Yep - she must have deserved to be murdered! (Saying sarcastically). <modsnip>

What do you make of CW ‘confessing’ (giving his version of the truth) after being allowed to speak to his father? Is this truth all CW? Did his father influence any part of CW’s description of what happened? Certainly his father knows better than to do that? Did they talk completely privately (no mic, camera, or anyone else in the room)? If so, is that commonly allowed? Will we ever know what they truly discussed (transcript or video)? What do you think would have happened if for some reason CW didn’t get to talk to his father?
They had 2 chances to speak alone. However much time was involved in meeting him at the airport and driving back, then again at the police dept when cw decided he would tell the "truth" if he got to speak with his father again. I have a hard time imagining that cw gave his father the same song and dance as he gave in the media interviews. Did his father tell cw to tell the truth? There is a story that we may never get to hear, but i can't believe the father really thinks sw killed those kids. Imo

I wonder if CW public defenders believe his story?
