Does anyone think that if the sheet hadn’t been spotted by the drone, that we would have heard his version implicating SW? Did that only become Plan B when he realized his hiding spot wasn’t as great as he’d thought? Or was it his plan all along to blame her? If they hadn’t been found, would he still be on his porch, wishing they’d show up and “barrel rush” him?

I know it really doesn’t matter at this point, because they WERE found, (thank God). I guess I’m just trying to figure out where his head was at.

But he's lied so much how could anyone believe him even if he did tell the truth?
They will likely verify what he says with forensics from the bodies, his SM history/computer etc. I have no doubt that DA Michael Rourke will prove this case using something simple like GPS/doorbell cams etc, just like Juan Martinez did in the Jodi Arias trial. The gas can receipts from Walmart. Something many of us thought was small but it turned out to be the deciding factor in a GUILTY verdict. MOO. I always MOO just in case.

I think that he was counting on people thinking that they were abducted and people would believe him and so would LE.

Ok, I also have the Vivint alarm system.
Sorry it took so long to reply. After seeing your post, I went to look at my Vivint app, to see how long info is there. :)
It looks like, on the phone app anyway, it stores about 1-1/2 months.
Mine was August 12 to today.
We have Wyoming wind, so it goes off constantly, lol.
If someone rings the doorbell, it will say that.
If someone is walking outside, but doesn't ring doorbell, it says 'visitor detected'. (It ALWAYS detects the wind) :p
I just opened the interior garage door, propped it open for about 2 minutes.
My app shows the time opened, then the time closed. :)

Wow. Had no idea, what is available.
I have keys: very basic.
Recently, a friend came over unexpectedly as I was walking to my front door.
Weeks later, I am still trying to find my key, as left it 'somewhere', as my routine altered.
So, if you were waiting, at my door, I wouldn't know: but CW did know NUA was at his door, and this disrupted his plan, for sure: thank goodness. :D:D:D

I lean this way too. He just didn’t anticipate the attention it would garner, but when you’re acting inappropriately hinky AF, it doesn’t work that way. Thankfully.

It’s often said these people really don’t have much of a plan, beyond the immediate gratification of ridding themselves of their family.

Christian Longo, who gave the eerily similar story that he killed his wife because he caught her strangling their children, now freely admits to the murders. He had no plan beyond a few days.

He fled to Mexico and lived it up in a resort until he was captured.

We really have no idea what CW would have done if it wasn’t for NUA, so we have no insight into his “plan” if there was one.

Interestingly, he did initially plan. He flew to South Dakota and mailed cards to his wife's family, supposedly from his wife.

The bodies surfaced pretty quickly. I think that's when things unraveled and he decided to flee.

These jokers seem to think they have a solid plan but they almost never do.

YES, yet incredibly, he thought it was a good idea to lie to the police about the work affair. I wonder what made him think they would not find out, thereby calling everything he says into question?

Yah. He must have been quite enamored with his acting skills. He failed to win any Academy Award because even my cat could have seen through his hipster/transparently self-serving "windexed" tv interviews.

That depends on the time of the killings doesn’t it? I don’t think we have a definite time of death for the girls. I know we have his statement.
If nothing else, if the time of the re-tweet or favorite is correct at 10pm Sunday night, he is on his phone playing around on Twitter after killing the girls (that’s bad if so), or just 4-6 hours before killing everybody. This was how he chose to spend that time before killing everyone? Not cleaning up, preparing, planning, prepping, who knows what else. Unbelievable.

tmar, I sure hope you find your keys!
Yes, the recordings are 30 seconds, but it will keep making more videos as long as someone is out there.
I giggle when I have church people come to my door :p:D
I turn down the tv, hunch down so they can't see me thru the windows and tell my pups to ssssshhhhhhhhhhh.
After they leave, I can watch the videos, it's a HOOT sometimes with the stuff they are talking about! Lolol (yes, the videos have sound)

I wonder if CW is missing his little girls. He has to, right? How can he not?

Cristian Longo claims he dreams about and thinks about his daughters all the time. He never dreams or thinks about his wife.

He has horrible nightmares about his son.

Dudes. Just leave them. Just let them leave. Just explain you've lost it and need to be apart.

Killing your family will never get you what you want. You will never truly be free that way.

Crikey, this sounds like John Edward Robinson who sent letters to family members pretending to be the victims he killed. SMH.

Not if it was part of the strategy to look innocent IMO. E.g. "I wasn't planning or committing murders...look...I was following sports. Just a normal Sunday night."

So sad SW’s family is in CO and moving stuff from her house today with a moving truck. I really couldn’t imagine having to go through their belongings, especially seeing all the grandkids toys, clothes

How do we know this?

From an article dated August 23 (an oldie, but a goodie IMO) Denise Mowder, associate professor of criminology and criminal justice at MSU Denver and a former prosecutor who has worked with thousands of victims of family violence said this:

"I think he had a vision of another life with this other woman — carefree, no responsibilities," she said. "Two children and another on the way, that's a big responsibility."

The fact that Chris Watts went in front of a Denver7 camera to plead for his family's lives after he knew they were dead indicates, to Mowder, that he planned to blame an intruder, play victim and eventually start a new life.

"This whole facade he put on right after they started looking for them — that was very odd, and it makes me wonder if he wasn't trying to find an out to be with the girlfriend," said Mowder. "Somebody else did it. I'm the poor grieving father."

Criminologist on Chris Watts case: 'There's some secrets there'

I also think, CW was hoping an intruder, will be implicated.
NUW stopped further clean up, (removing SW's items), if CW was initially considering this.
With the intruder being implicated, SW's items could remain.
Perhaps CW felt, his interviews, will be sufficient, to play, the 'don't know where they are' game, and he probably acted similarly, in front of his friends.

Not if he’s a sociopath or psychopath.

I think even they can. For example, some serial killers express a weird form of remorse about certain victims. They cover the faces and refuse to admit to killing certain people while freely admitting others.

Why?

And some of these serial killers' families expressed how loving their were at home. Not all. But some. I think that monster who killed the little boy out in California and then killed and kidnapped the Groene family, he was described as very loving with his family.

I think they are capable of feeling some kind of feelings for others, depending on where they are on the spectrum of psychopathy.

I got the sense that CW felt freedom but he also felt the eerie silence. And likely felt regret about his daughters.

What did he say? Something like, "I don't know how this could've happened."

Dude may be a hack but this is the bottom line for most of us.
Funny how we were just discussing this last night. The idea that people express grief in different ways not being true, and that usually there is some form of expression. It's automatic. And how "true crime buffs" can see right through it.

The intruder theory usually fails. Just like Jodi Arias and her ninjas, Jeffrey MacDonald and his hippies. Just shows how arrogant CW is, that he believes his poorly thought out scenario is even remotely believable.
News from CW: Not how horrified he is that his family is DEAD! He's upset that his murders took on international interest and that he is sadly "misunderstood". Bring me a bucket.

I wonder if NUA or LE knew they have sound. CW may have been armed with quite a bit more knowledge when he arrived back to the home, if he had been not only watching the live video from his phone, but also listening in on any audio that may have been captured with those videos. JMO.

I think it was Providence, everything that happened--NUA persistence, the sheet, the pillow cases. It reminds me of Laci Peterson's case when her body washed up on shore...
