I believe the conversation started because we were trying to figure out why the school had not called on Monday Aug 13th to ask why the girls were not there (if indeed they were scheduled to start school that day and if indeed they did not call). There seems to be some confusion because of CW saying "next Monday" in his interview but locals are telling us all the area kindergartens started prior to Aug 20th. JMO.

I mentioned in an earlier post that CW lied about the date that Bella was supposed to start Kindegarten in the “porch tapes” with the media.

Why? Why would he lie?

Depending on what school she was to attend in the area she would have started that week, possibly even that Monday, but not the following week as he asserted. Was it to just not get into it? Was it to not call attention to the fact that she was supposed to have started or was about to start before the disappearance? If she was supposed to start would it have been easier to make sure she did not on case the school would notice her absence once enrolled? Or did he not know when she was supposed to actually start at all? Why lie about that when all schools started in their area that week?

Thank you! I used to be a teacher and typically we wouldn't call for missing the first day, because so many students transferred over the summer or moved or forgot it was the first day or we didn't provide busing the first day or whatever. However, if it was a family with whom I was already well acquainted, I might call. So I can see that either way. Idk

I think that that came from him in one of his porch interviews.

I honestly think this guy expected and fully believed he would be taken at his word for everything he said, by everyone he spoke to or with.

I think he thought he would be believed when he said they simply "left". I think that's why he gave up early on that they had an "emotional conversation". And I think he never imagined that media would even get involved, or that if they did, it would be on a small, local level, and would blow over within a couple of days.

I think that LE let him talk to the media obviously to see what he was going to say. It was basically a recorded conversation, without them even having to prod him. And I think he is so dense, he actually thought they were buying it; that they believed him to be this poor, worried husband and father, and otherwise they would have definitely arrested him by now.

I honestly think he is just THAT self-involved and arrogant. School? Next Monday. They won't check. Where was she going that morning? Playdate. They won't check. Interview on the porch? Sure. They won't verify anything.

Thanks Chris! Prosecution is going to appreciate this.

This is how I took it as well. The following Monday which makes it even stranger he would say anything at all about Bella starting school if it was 6 or 7 days away. How did he already know she wouldn't be back to start school in 6 or 7 days? Why even bring up something that was supposed to happen 6 or 7 days from now when someone is missing.

As we're heading into the weekend.
I thought looking at these precious faces would be comforting.

I totally agree. I think he’s that dense as well. When they ask him if he’s worried that people think he may be involved, he cannot say anything but “people are going to think what they think. I just want everyone to know that I just want them back.” And then he expounded upon how much he liked his shirt!

Not -“I am NOT involved with this and I want help finding them!” Or “I would never do anything to hurt my family.”

He’s saying in his own mind “Who cares what haters think! I’m clearly too nice of a seeming guy to worry about that! The cops are great and they have dogs and I’m supporting them! Who could possibly think that I have anything to do with this when I have no “inclination” about anything!”

But are you thinking that because he said, "...next Monday," or for some other reason?
MOO

Now I remember, @PommyMommy. It was CW's speaking of Bella in the PAST tense ("was") combined with his saying "NEXT Monday."

Only the murderer would know that his precious Bella would not be in attendance at school a week from the day of the porch interview.

MOD NOTE

Do NOT accuse the AP (any of them) of possibly having involvement in the murders. There is no evidence that anyone but CW committed these crimes. In fact, there have been reports that the APs have been cooperating with the investigation.

Warning points and TOs WILL be issued if this speculation continues.

This was relieving for me to log on and read from the Mod of the thread.

Because he killed her and dumped her in a crude oil tank. :(
It was a slip of the tongue.
He is not as good at lying as he thinks. ;)

Maybe he had teased the AP with stories of how they could finally go public, eat out, do everything like real partners do, because he had broken up with SW while in SC. So here comes SW all pretty & preggers with the happy giggly kids, no apparent change on her blogs, goes on a business trip after a couple of days, and not only does the AP not have him to usher her around in public, now he has the KIDS too! It just seems so obvious to me that either Saturday night or Sunday she dumped him and he had never been so angry in his life. (IMO IMO)
After a 10 month affair, it might turn out that more than just 1 person was in the family way.
I still don't know where to look up the Saturday night truth about baby sitter, yes or no, and where.

This is making sense to me as I think about someone I know, a married man who’s mistress dumped him and he was devastated.

Because by that time he knew they were dead and in oil tanks?

ETA: I wasn't being snarky. I'm just slightly confused.

I was probably 75% sure CW was guilty of doing something to his family the first time I saw those videos but watching them back after everything we know now and after his arrest and confession makes me sick.

For me it's more how could he so coldly stand on the porch and tell those lies to a reporter.

Maybe the same way he might have lied to Shanann about things (“she’s just a friend”, “sorry I had to work late”, “going to the gym babe”, “I love you”...)

(That’s what one of my exes did. He deserved an Oscar. He would literally call me and say “I love you”. )

(Eta: while I had dinner waiting for him...”ok I’ll be home soon honey”...grrrr)

(ETA: He was out galavanting with strippers...still a stab in the heart 20 years later...)

But hmmmm there’s a thought...did he go to strip clubs? Not a cheap hobby..

It bugs me that I can’t quit thinking maybe he and the AP went to Black Hawk (casino town). Again total speculation based on nothing but a hunch. There are hotels there.
