Tragic indeed. I might be reading between the lines, but is it possible her chronic health problem caused her to lower her expectations in terms of ever marrying a guy like him? JMO, but my impression was that she was continually trying to make him look more special than what he actually was. The truth is, the guy had no real ambition. He put in his shift and that was probably all he did, which is fine if one is realistic about what they will have in life. I think he had an exaggerated sense of entitlement that he should have a beautiful, ambitious and intelligent wife and a dream home he couldn't afford. I think she drove herself to extremes to try to meet his expectations. I also think her illness played a big role in the whole scheme of things for her, and for him, too, and I think she became his victim long before she ever realized it. Again, JMO.

Everyone always wants answers as to WHY someone kills another - any reason for the murder. My response is that some people are just killers and there is no reason.

If he was all hopped up on steroids and caffeine supplements, that was his choice and he lost control of his own brain and body, the killer in him came out. He always had it in him. Lots of people take steroids and get overloaded with stimulants everyday and they aren't killing their families. because it isn't in them to do so. He is a broken person, something essential is missing in him. Defective.

Were there pressures on the two of them? Heck yeah, but nothing that other people don't experience all day everyday and they don't kill their families over it.

sorry if posted

you should know about this warned readers about Le-Vel and Thrive last November but here’s a more detailed look.

However, TINA.org found that several of these testimonials come from people whose Facebook activity indicates they have pitched the Thrive product themselves at one point or another. That is to say, they are past or present Le-Vel affiliates — or what the company calls “brand promoters” or simply “promoters” —

the FDA has received 16 adverse health

Three of the 16 reports cited the need for hospitalization or a visit to the emergency room. Manufacturers of dietary supplements like Thrive are not required to obtain FDA approval

But perhaps most telling is this disclaimer on the company’s policies, terms and conditions page (emphasis added): “The earnings of Le-Vel Promoters relating to Le-Vel Brands LLC and Le-Vel.com are not necessarily a representation of the income, if any, that a Le-Vel Brand Promoter can or will earn through his or her participation in the Le-Vel Compensation Plan.”

Not OK in the UK

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) recently found Le-Vel in violation of the UK regulatory body’s advertising code. The health claims at issue included “enhanced weight management,” “immune support” and “ph balancing blend.” The claims appeared in a Facebook ad and Le-Vel claimed it was not placed by one of its promoters, though the copy starkly resemblances how Le-Vel describes the same supplement on its own website. In the end, the ASA ruled that Le-Vel, as “beneficiaries of the marketing material,” was responsible for the ad and said that it must not appear again in its current form.

A company removed from its people?

Complaints against Le-Vel filed with the FTC since 2012, also obtained by TINA.org through an FOIA request, show a company that is hard to reach when its promoters call with problems — and there have been problems. Among other things, promoters have complained about not being paid their promised commissions, not canceling customers’ auto-shipment deliveries when requested, and about difficulties getting answers about the products’ nutritional information.

One promoter wrote:

When a customer asks about an ingredient and specifics to the product, somebody that works for Le-Vel and created the product should be able to answer.

Another wrote:

This company is a joke and a scam that preys on desperate people who want to lose weight and then continues to charge, even when the orders have been ‘canceled’ on their ‘cloud.’ Then, you can’t even call and speak to anyone.

MLM hopping

Last September, Le-Vel Brands shared on its Facebook page, which has more than 370,000 followers, the “Thrive experience” of one Jon Holbrook. But Holbrook is no ordinary promoter. He is the former vice chairman and chief investment officer of WakeUpNow, a multi-level marketing company that folded its affiliate operations in the U.S. earlier this year amid allegations of malfeasance and gross mismanagement.

Also, I'm curious why her brother is claiming she struggled with getting pregnant? Her daughters are a year apart and this baby was gonna be 2 years apart from his next oldest sibling. That doesn't seem to suggest she struggled with fertility.

SO much discussion re: MLM/Thrive while I was gone. No, I don’t use it or sell it but not seeing the relevance (yet).
As someone else said similar, a consumer (OR someone that signs up as a rep) has the ownus to do their research. Period.
Also, as I think about my corporate career here in the US and the standard bonus structure:
I sell $44.9M USD to clients. My new bonus structure is suddenly based in EVERYone’s “performance” in the Company yes, (a whole other topic). But, based on my generated revenue, my boss automatically gets 2%, his boss gets 5%, her boss gets 10%, etc. So a MULTI TIERED bonus structure based on generated revenue from sales and marketing. Think on that, read it again, and think on that some more. I didn’t realize this myself until all this OT talk got me to really start thinking.

I thought the same thing when I watched the video. But On her Facebook she told someone that he initiated this pregnancy. Why would he do that if he didn't want another baby?

Well... if he was the one who asked her for sex the time she got pregnant, that would be true. Doesn’t mean he wanted a baby though....

I was watching a program on Netflix recently, where a criminal psychologist said one thing that seems to be consistent with family killers (men who take out their entire families) is they are socially awkward, or "loner types". CW seems to fit that bill.

All I know is what she told someone on her Facebook. He talked her into this baby. That's what she said, not what I am saying. Clearly he wanted them all gone, but must not have felt that way at the time they were trying for a baby.

Why would he talk her into having another baby if he wanted out? I'm expecting another woman to come out of the closet any time now.
I'm certain there is at least one other woman that will eventually surface.

In terms of the pregnancy, he apparently made her feel it was safe to get pregnant again, from what I've read. Only a specialist can advise a woman with lupus when it is safe to become pregnant. If not planned correctly, a pregnancy can result in the death of the mother and child. Maybe the pregnancy was his initial plan?

I’m sorry, I’m still doing a fancy spreadsheet that’s color coded to include how much I’m getting duped in the corporate world bonus structure. I kid, kinda.
Regardless, it’s all OT I guess anyway until “experts”, chemists, physicians come out in a trial. That will take 5 days in itself I’m sure.

I take social media with a grain of salt. In this case, his actions speak loudly that he didn't want any more children or the two they already had.

  • #432
Exactly. With the babies out of the picture, along with his pregnant wife, he's totally free to move on to a new life. Or so he thought.

I believe it was about hurting his wife. I think she was leaving him because he was having an affair. He was angry because he could no longer control her.

  • #433
Control. He thought he could reinforce his control over her if she was pregnant. It didn't seem to slow her down though.

She was sick when they met, I believe. He probably liked her dependent on him as easier to control. When she started to blossom more he felt threatened by that imho. What a small man!!!!

Oops quote didn't work. I am responding to post by MCDRAW on why CW would initiate the pregnancy idea.

I was with a guy like that, he only wanted weak, helpless women. I was definitely at a low point when I met him.

He had major anger management problems, and was borderline personality disorder. In addition to a marijuana addiction.

Fortunately I left, and he hooked up with a gal who was completely dependent on him. Guys like that need a Scarlet Letter on their forehead.

Maybe HE thought another baby would slow her down, maybe she would have to stop working/traveling so much & she would once again be under his thumb. Maybe she told him that wasn’t going to happen...?

Ugggghh. I hate to think of how painful that moment was when she realized something bad was happening. She was probably anxious and worried from the second she watched her friend walk in that door. I’m sure once the cops got there they took her aside and she was probably frantic. She knew. :(

Poor thing. Her life is changed forever.

I think we were involved with the same man LOL When I first met him he told me that he loved my positive outlook on life and how I always seemed happy and ready to take on anything. Fast forward a year and those very same things seemed to set him off into some insane manic tantrums. Talk about feeling like you are living on Crazy Street. Me being the stubborn person I am and not willing to change who I am for anyone else refused to act otherwise. Problem is when you are around a grouchy easily set off man you are not always as happy as you once were. I have no doubt if we had stayed together I would be dead. I was never one to back down and he had this overbearing need to control and conquer. After the relationship ended I often wondered if that was what it was about for him...the things he said he loved about me were in fact the very things he wanted to take away from me. I was just stronger in personality and more confident in myself then he was and was able to walk away.
All I know is what she told someone on her Facebook. He talked her into this baby. That's what she said, not what I am saying. Clearly he wanted them all gone, but must not have felt that way at the time they were trying for a baby.
I wonder what happened in the 5 weeks that he was alone at home to change his mind? The way he disposed of those children was SO obscene that he had to have hated them to do that to them.

There is more information on this site about what can go wrong, but this convinces me further of the crazy she lived with, and the extremes she put herself through to try to keep this psycho happy.

Pregnancy and lupus from resources.lupus.org.:

Planning Your Pregnancy
Although many lupus pregnancies will have no complications, all lupus pregnancies are considered “high risk”—meaning problems may occur and must be anticipated. The best time to be pregnant is when you are doing well with your health. Women whose lupus is in remission have much less trouble with pregnancy than women whose disease is active. It is strongly recommended that you meet with your doctor three to six months in advance of when you plan to try to become pregnant. At this visit your doctor will probably recommend that you stop taking certain medications, including blood pressure medications, CellCept® (mycophenolate mofetil; MMF), cyclophosphamide, and methotrexate. Generally, Plaquenil® can be continued to help prevent a lupus flare. It is rare that Plaquenil causes fetal problems, and the risk of a flare outweighs the fetal risk. Prednisone also should be continued. If you are on mycophenolate mofetil or mycophenolic acid, talk to your doctor about switching to azathioprine, which often is an acceptable alternative.

I’m sure he HATED that she made good money. Loved the benefits but it made him feel lesser than.

He obviously didn't want her either but he had sex with her and convinced her to have another baby. Some where along the lines his thoughts/feelings changed. Not that I think this was planned. If he did plan it, he couldn't have put a lot of thought into it.
