I think about this guy looking pretty perky and well rested and compare it to Crystal MacDonald’s husband. Sure more time went by between her disappearance and his arrest, but you could tell just by looking at him what it was doing to him! He looked so exhausted and hollow faced when he was arrested. CW looks perfectly normal.

A guy with facial hair and short cropped hair really does not have to groom all that much in 48 hours.

We only saw him in those initial interviews .

he def ragged out since arrest - which would make me think he did no grooming in the beginning. moo

(So, as I’ve mentioned before, one of my strengths in the past has NOT been being able to tell when people are lying (I believed Patsy R until I came here (blush), and even OJ (double blush, embarrassed). But I’m getting better as I see more and more of these types of interviews here on WS. I was thinking the other day of starting a thread of reference videos of such lying perps, “please come home safe”, “I’d never hurt my baby boy”, etc etc. Top of the thread would be CW, Mark Redwine and Emily Glass for starters...It would be interesting to compare mannerisms and verbage, etc. Man we could fill up a thread of “lying interviews” in a heartbeat. I’m going to flag a mod and see if this is something they’d approve or not.)
Here‘s another:
'Happy family' dad's chilling response when asked if he had murdered his wife

He appeared on UK ID‘s ”Faking It: Tears of a Crime“ where you can find more cases.

And "I really like this shirt .. it's new." Animal, disgusting...

We have to remember he was trying not to act guilty - make it a typical response which in any other context that would be it.

IMO his answer was like our relationship is so good she thinks of me and gets me my favorite shirts all the time - you know what I mean

I was surprised he was aware of neighbors cameras- there had been some speculation that he might not /

(Ugh, just felt a stab to the heart)

:(. :(. :(

;$(“”)&/“&)!

I know. I think back to kinder and how much of a BABY my kiddo was! She’s going in to 5th grade a week from Tuesday, almost my same height, yet still a baby in my brain! These poor little girls had the world in front of them. CW didn’t deserve them, and doesn’t deserve to be called their dad. He’s their Undad (which is what my daughter refers to her sociopathic narcissist dad as when she is telling me something particularly hurtful he has said or done).

Except he was being interviewed about his missing wife and 2 babies!! He all but modeled for the camera, finally relaxing his arms by his side and pulling at his shirt for better view.

Unthinkable? Huh. Considering he killed his whole family, going through her luggage just doesn’t seem that big a deal to me. For all we know it was in her carry on bag and she handed it to him just before he killed her. I just don’t see the big deal over his shirt.
It wasn't the shirt exactly, it was his response to the question about his shirt. He immediately relaxed, became open, showing shirt off. If you were in middle of interview about missing family, could/would you turn it off to talk about your t-,shirt? Or be taken aback from someone asking you this when your family was in danger? With K9 unit tracking for them? That is what I noticed, not anything about the shirt per say

When was the last time these girls saw a Pediatrician?

I’m mad now. Taking a time out. My last post did me in.

Agree that this line of speculation doesn't really seem warranted. CW doesn't have to be a thoroughgoing monster, evil in every thought and deed, to have done what he's accused of.

My guess is that this set of crimes, horrendous as they are, are a species of family annihilation, minus the suicide that often goes along with them. I think we're going to find that some combination of financial and work pressure, suspicions of infidelity/betrayal, possible family separation and/or perceived emasculation are at the root of this case, not ongoing spousal or child abuse.

IMO, of course.

I agree with the emasculation angle

Yes! This!!! A better act would have had him ignoring that question or responding to it like what? We are looking for missing children here!!!

I didn't realize this Herat, is there a news article about this point? I am trying to determine what day CW did the interview in front of his home before he was arrested and if his father arrived Tuesday when did he do the interview?

that would be really helpful in terms of trying to figure out who was the real motivator to allow authorities to know the locations of victims

did his dad live in town

In 8:06 minutes, CW spouted many words, even repeated some, but not once did he mention his missing wife by her name. He mentioned his children's names once, but only after he was asked by reporter. (Interview by 9News reporters). The words he used to describe his daughters are very telling: "Celeste is like her" (Mum) -- troublemaker and rampage; "Bella is like me" (CW), choosing "mothering" and "calm" to describe Bella. CW also told the reporter that Bella was starting Kindergarten "next Monday," but St Vrain Valley Schools had open house on Monday, August 13, and 1st day of Kindergarten was Friday, August 17 (Grades 1+ started August 15).

WHOA - You know what stands out to me:

"It was real quick"

I don't know what the context was, it might have been the LE response was quick but this phrase just chilled me to the bone

Clearly, he had issues with SW. I'm thinking finances had little do with this indefensible familicide. He had to kill HER and the kids were HER (especially Celeste). I have to think he regrets having to kill Bella the most....

And he INSTANTLY snapped back to the defensive arm posture for the next question about the family. It was dramatic

Further thoughts. I believe he was going to go back Monday night and take care of SW, he knew he had to do better than a shallow grave. He went to work because he couldn't do anything out of the norm that day, but I wouldn't be surprised if he planned on disappearing too. If he had gotten away with that the country would be looking for the entire family, not just a single man. He really may have gotten away with it. I'm so curious to know if he took money out of he bank accounts prior to the arrest and weekend. That may be why he's so dead broke on paper. Thank God she had a doctor appointment and her friend was on top of it!

My grandson has peanut allergies and I read every label even chips can be friend in peanut oil. Just a thought could CW poison his daughters by peanuts? Left them just die? Thinking outside the box.

From his TV interview comments about Bella being the most like him, I have to think she died afger Celeste and he maybe feels a bit of regret about having to kill Bella. But not Celeste or SW

Or the baby boy - no reaction at all about that one, hardly acknowledging his existence. So weird to me, I thought every man wanted a son.

Oh, excellent point..... making his disappearance and the ruse of having to look for the entire family.... him being at work delaying the apparent time of the crime by 24 hours.

So he either didnt know or forgot about the Ob appointment

I sure hope LE got to his computer to look at searches

That's going to be in Thread #2. Will take a bit to find it.

The Channel 9 interview was conducted on Tuesday, August 14 and the google articles state it was "24 hours before he confessed" The news reports I see say that he confessed on Wednesday Aug 15, in the evening (one post about the confession is stamped 8:35 pm Aug 15), so it sounds as though his father arrived Wed Aug 15, not Tues Aug 14.

The murders occurred late Sunday Aug 12 or early Monday Aug 13

It I am getting this right he stayed with neighbors tues correct>

i got the impression that they called fbi and cops on tues -- is that wrong

I am under the notion that the neighbors had a lot to with having to talk to le

Personally I don’t think he has any regrets except getting caught and ending up in prison. I bet he is sitting in his cell wishing he had done the crime differently so in his mind he wouldn’t get caught.
