To me, a trial would be a stupid waste of money.

What kind of advice do his lawyers give him?

When does the court decide if they are going to ask for the death penalty?

It all seems like a ridiculous waste of money. All the experts. All of the legal wrangling for what? Money that could be better spent on other things.

The Arias trial was absurd with money spent that could have gone for real needs of people.

I imagine he is willing to gamble. After all, Casey Anthony got off .

Good question. You'd think that if the drone hadn't found anything they would have had to go out in person on Wednesday (?) or Thursday, they had the GPS. But it looks like the GPS would have registered any stops along the dirt road, where he could have buried her away from the tanks. He should have planned better, dug a deeper hole, ie for the future. But he had no excuse for longer stops before the actual tank battery, so it had to be there, or at another tank battery, IMO. So maybe if the drone had not found the sheet, and if he had planned better with a deeper grave dug over a period of time, maybe he could have bought a couple of days to concoct a better story <modsnip - circumventing forum rules> But the dogs would have found it.

I haven't seen the exact site, but I was thinking if he just used the berm around the tank pad it would be relatively soft. Relative to hard-packed, never-dug-up dirt.

There are aerial views of the site in the media thread. He didn't use the berm, you can see the area of "disturbed" ground just outside the site in the vegetation.

My husband & nephew work in the industry. My nephew has the same job CW did. Of course there is no way of knowing CW's exact work schedule, but the type of job he had does start out at a very early hour of the day. I would say, yes, he was supposed to be at that site that day. Also, yes, he would have been able to park his pickup near the tanks and then carry her body to where he buried her. There is an aerial view of the site in the media thread that shows the patch of ground just outside the site where he dug the grave in the vegetation.

Interesting response by the defense indeed.

He leaves the decision about sealing the autopsies in the discretion of the court. The government has no information as to which witnesses it intends to interview that have not already been interviewed or how the witnesses could be impacted by the contents of the autopsies. Counsel moves for a hearing to determine whether the government's position has any merit.

In the affidavit it said the drone detected fresh dirt close to the towers.

NASCAR cars are incredibly technical. He went to the school. Whether he was a brilliant student there or not does not matter. He knows there are all kinds of electronics in cars and they have been a part of cars for a long time.

It seems impossible to believe that he did not know the capabilities of his work vehicle.

What would be his work day? Does he start at an office to start his day? Does he report to an office at the end of the day?

Would he not know that his movements could be tracked?

Is he so clueless to think that the spouse is not always investigated? Is it only the sheet that gave him away?

Would the drone have shown the grave had the sheet not been found? Did he try to blend the grave in with the surrounding area? It would be too soon for the soil to start sinking.

From what we've heard from other posters who have relatives working in the oil industry, it seems CW's line of work was more "field-based," with probably much of his work day consisting of driving around and checking on tanks.

As for whether or not CW knew about his movements being tracked, I recall from last night's AB that Anadarko used the ROVR technology for GPS tracking purposes (screenshot, below).


I would doubt he wasn't aware of it, since the company would likely have access to a "dashboard," which would display his driving analytics for any given day/time, and I'd imagine this data would come into play in some form in employee coaching. I also imagine this ROVR technology would have been disclosed to employees when being assigned a vehicle from the Anadarko fleet. I also wouldn't be surprised if drivers receive training on the ROVR device themselves (what it tracks), when being hired for a job that requires the assignment of a work vehicle that utilizes this technology.

Judging by the above photo, however, the ROVR device itself, which would likely would have been previously installed in CW's work vehicle by the company, looks like it could have been easily disabled, by simply unplugging it, IMO. We don't know where it would have been installed within the vehicle, or whether or not CW might have unplugged it.

But if he did unplug it (which we don't know yet), I wouldn't be surprised if his company had certain users (supervisor, HQ HR employee, etc) set up with automatic notifications that would ensure they received that type of "event" alert (such as an unplug/plug event) via a text and/or email. Perhaps CW just didn't care about any repercussions from his employer, and that he could just explain it away, similar to how he seemed to be explaining things away in his media interviews. Jmo

What woman accused of these crimes would be receiving love letters in jail after likely killing her kids?

We know of women (Susan Smith immediately comes to mind) who did the unthinkable and were charged with the crime they committed and lied about it. They were not given the same reception after being charged.

What makes CW more sympathetic to some people? Because he was still married and he could place his wife at the scene and in the 3.5 short hours she was home, she COULD have potentially by virtue of her presence, killed her kids when she gave no signs of being capable of it?

If anything, in everything I’ve seen from her videos she was adamant to protect them at all costs, even though I know this is subjective and being used against her too. I just don’t see it.

This case IMO, excludes common sense when the man charged is vehemently defended, when what HAS been established is undeniably criminal (dumping kids in oil tanks alone), and the evidence that has been irrefutably presented is dismissed only because CW changed his story yet again.

If we must try to give CW the benefit of the doubt because HE SAYS SO - I can only wonder what makes people so amenable to his version of events over how and why he did this (which I feel we will never discover because we can’t trust him and he is the last man standing ). His version in the affidavit hardly seems like an honest confession IMO and it came a day late and tons of dollars short!

Yet he continues to be lent credence and in some circles- even adoration. I don’t think that we can refute that CW has a following which is gaining momentum when it is reported, (by AB) even on a slow day.

You may think CW is a vile human being who did unspeakable things and who, to save his own hide tried blaming someone else (I’d be a millionaire for every suspect who tried blaming someone else for their crimes) but I have no idea why he’s responsible for circles of people sending him letters because these same people find him attractive and can’t separate fantasy from reality. IMO

This to me is beyond understanding..... I have mentioned it before, where I live, we suffered a horrible mass school shooting in February.... crushing to our area communities....yet females sent love letters & money to the shooter ! I just try to understand people’s emotional feeling in times of the absolute unthinkable.i haven’t found that understanding yet.... not sure I ever will!
