That's a very good point about the phone. I have always thought he killed the kids before she got home and then killed her as soon as she arrived in order to prevent her from checking in on the kids and risking confrontation. But I have always wondered how the phone ended up there, since he apparently did not take the time to stage a scene. Maybe she was fast asleep by 2:30, and shortly after he killed her and then proceeded to kill the children. He would have had plenty of time to get them loaded in the car by 5:15, or around that time. But it does make sense that he would have hidden the phone before he murdered her, just in case. Jmo

I wondered if he hurriedly his the phone in the cushions while he disposed of the bodies, so that if anyone stopped by they wouldn't hear it ringing or something. Just a sort of panicked impulse rather than just turning it off.

But this makes more sense. He didn't want her to have access to help.

The most mindboggling tidbit from his (voluntary) media appearances is when he had the audacity, or stupidity, to suggest she might have left via the construction in back. How could he have assumed anyone would buy that?

JMO, he was desperate to come up with a scenario that would take the focus off of him.

I'll wait to learn more about what happened before I decide how I feel about her, but I think you are a bigger person than I am to be willing to feel sympathy for her.
LOL! I feel certain CW lied to her and she probably did make a bad decision(s), and now she's in a very tough, and scary, spot. Since I've also made some bad decisions in my life, I can feel sympathy for her. Hopefully she'll learn and recover.

Hmm, maybe I'm talking out of my backside. I've written it down for the record, maybe it was the way he glanced to his left as he said it, or that it was an odd thing to say "barely" when he didn't leave for another three hours, but I did feel the utterance had spontaneity and was otherwise even more odd if he was making it up, I dunno. Just a feeling it's true. :D

4:35 minutes in:

"I le...I left work, for work early that morning, like 5:15, 5:30, so like she barely, I mean she barely got, barely gotten into bed pretty much"

Barely gotten into bed before he killed her or maybe she had barely been dead before he loaded up the bodies?

I mean maybe he was lying there in the dark trying to gain the courage to go through with it until he knew he had to act. Because the week was bringing more things that would make it difficult to do, like once school started, and difficult to go ahead and kill her and the baby right after the gender reveal and everything.

I'm thinking pressure by his affair might've played a part in the timing too.

I feel the same way. Who knows what he was telling her.

I thought that could've been actually pretty good! Like maybe someone picked her up or forced her out from there. There's a dirt or paved road and super low back fence.

The only problem with that would've been the solidly locked from the inside doors. Unless there was a side door unlocked in the garage. But I think he would've mentioned that.

Sure! Here you go....luckily it is the first I just took a look at again - see about 5:10 in the video:
Thanks for helping me skip 5 minutes 9 seconds of his sorry mess. Hey, just coincidentally he knew there were no cameras back there. And he mentioned "took her" among a couple of other proposals.

If that's the case, why didn't she scream for help? If he grabbed her phone she would perceive a threat. I still think that the phone lost in a struggle makes the most sense.

By the time he gave those interviews it was already known that the doors were locked from the inside (as you noted). Neighbor cameras would have caught her exiting from the garage. Had she decided to leave without her medicines, purse, cell phone, credit cards and ID.

I keep listening, does anyone feel he says "she barely let me..." and then catches himself? "She barely let me..." WHAT? To me it sounds like the lead in to a fight, like he was lining up "reasoning" for going after her. Like he was the aggrieved party. He's ridiculous but I wish he had finished that sentence. JMO, MOO.

It could show how desperate he was to get the bodies out quickly. Which makes me wonder about te timing of the murders.

If he had only unlocked the back slider, LE would not have been able to squeeze a confession (partial) out of him so easily. I mean he was confronted with the fact that SW entered the house and because it was sealed, the only way she and the girls could've left that house was thought his truck from the garage.

But had he left a back slider open?

Ultimately, though, it could be just that he wanted to make sure no one like NUA could enter while he was gone and find whatever evidence he felt may've been there that he was trying to get rid of by hiding sheets.

Like many, I think he felt he'd have an opportunity to stage, later on.

Bad miscalculation.

But why wouldn't she scream for help during any struggle?

In the scenario I'm thinking of I didn't imagine that she saw him hiding her phone. I don't think that would work. I think he could've hid it when she was distracted or asleep.

Yes. Unless there was a side door not covered by a camera. Which doesn't appear to be the case.

You are so right! Would have, could have, should have! And lot's of bad miscalculations and unforeseen events. The late flight, the pesky friend NUA, who wouldn't stop inquiring, and LE being called. Did he believe he had a perfect plan, and then saw it pulled into shreds like a cheap sweater?

Major wrench in the machinery: "the late flight".

For some reason I don’t think he had to spend any time preparing himself. I think he was just eager to get it over with.

Absolutely! Bravo IMO the late flight was the catalyst for the chaos and confusion and mistakes that followed. For CW, everything began to fall apart from there; "Major wrench in the machinery"! Yes, indeed.

At what point in the legal proceedings do attorneys have to share discovery items? Will they do it before CW’s Nov hearing, or does that come later in preparation for the full trial?

It's crossed my mind that he was probably even more angry that he couldn't accuse her of "being with" someone else, driven home by a guy from the airport, innocent as that would have been. Coming home with NUA erased that possibility from his choice of accusations and excuses.
