Someone mentioned on another site that the patch he wore might have given off a chemical that made him do this. She said she had a friend who had these patches on and she did something awful (she didn't say what it was). I guess it's something to think about.

Chris Watts has admitted to killing his wife, Shanann Watts, and his two born children, Celeste & Bella, however, Shanann Watts was pregnant with Baby Niko when she was killed & he also was killed. Colorado currently does not have a law that would charge Chris Watts in the murder of Unborn Baby Boy Niko. Please join our fight to have this changed and this monster charged with a 4th count of murder. Please sign and share this petition! #JusticeForShanann #JusticeForCelesteBellaNiko

I see a lot of discomfort with the friend NA trying to recruit (or whatever she is doing) for Thrive, but I think she actually believes she is trying to do what will honor her friend. Something about working toward helping to get Shanann to her 200,000 goal that she seemed to want very much. I don't understand how MLM's work, so this meant nothing to me. But I think we are being too hard on the friend. It may not be the way we would choose, but she may be completely sincere and not trying to make it for her own gain.

ETA:
It was mentioned as a tribute for her and her family, in the only way another athrive member felt she could accomplish something good in her name.

Someone on the FB page referred to it as "a legacy for a friend who can no longer reach her goal herself". So they are going to do it for her ... they liked her a lot to do this, I would think.

JMO

Although by stretching my beliefs, I can understand the gesture to complete a group goal. I’m uncomfortable what seems to be a “brainwashing” of sorts from the company to meet the goal at all costs, regardless of what is happening to anyone. It will be interesting to learn if the company donates anything to the effort.

And I’m seeing there are 2 efforts on a well known page directing people to social media for donations per the family.

People do well meaning things and sometimes don’t Consider legal issues.

And I believe that the money owed SW should be paid to her estate or her family. And this is not the time to have to earn the payment, meet a goal or sell anything that might benefit other people. It “muddies the tainted water” just a bit too much. The legal way is for the company to pay her what she was owed on the date of her death. It keeps the tax issue clean and everything above board.

I totally missed that until now. Were N and S friends before Thrive or is it a Thrive thing? Wow, that is just so...tacky.
BIB . I didn't know that. Seriously!!

I don't see how anyone could even know this yet, but"

Gerard Courcy on Twitter
"
I've just learned the #ChrisWatts defense team will use the #Thrive defense to explain the murders of his pregnant wife & 2 daughters. Lots of caffeine and aspirin in these "weight loss" patches sold via #MLM. Compare to #TwinkieDefense #DanWhite case. @CaseWarriors @lordanarts"

Would expect the Defense to try this angle but as someone else said in the last thread. ( Stimulants in the ingredients obviously couldn't make anyone murder their entire family, even if there were side-effects and he's used enough of the supplements)

A list of the ingredients here
"Stimulants like:

THIS is why I mentioned yesterday I was trying to see what they took from the house in their clear storage containers! And exactly.... I still hope and would suspect the Prosecution will be prepared for this with actual statistics from the company themselves:
So out of 1.4 million customers (I made this number up as example only), only one person murdered their family? Exactly.
And how many of us here drink more than one cup of coffee a day. Ridiculous to me, but I guess it is their job to put on a defense.

Classic narcissist behavior. The overloving, the inexplicable withdrawl of affection, the overloving, the withdrawl, repeat, repeat

As some have pointed out the excessively ego-stroking posts by Shanann may also hint at such behavior. There's an opposing party in a case of mine who is a naricisst or psychopath. He's horrible. But one woman with him, she would do anything to get affection from him. She was constantly interfering in the case "helping" him because she desperately wanted to get affection from him and at that point the only time he would show her affection is when she would do things to harm my client.

IMO:
I think the girls could have already been murdered and put into the tanks earlier that weekend. CW would have been waiting for SW to get home to finish this tragedy. It was all definitely premeditated. With the short amount of time that CW had before he started work, disposing of 3 bodies within 3 hours would make cleaning up after the incident too rushed and carelessly done. So so sad. I still can’t believe there was no emotion whatsoever during the interview. It’s like he was desensitised to the whole thing.

we have to remember, also, that the kids were at a bd party sunday. so it was definitely after the party that he killed the kids....i think he killed them and took them to the tank (there was video of him loading bags, but i'm unsure of WHEN) and then waited for SW to arrive and wash rinse repeat. he was a busy guy sunday night.

Hi- I'm new here. (Well, new in that I just reactivated my account and got a new password. I've been lurking since the Scott Peterson case!)
Your idea about the vascular neck restraint goes with my theory that he "choked" her from behind. I also think that, during the struggle, she reached up with her left arm and tried to "scratch" him, but due to the distance she would have had to reach, happened to just leave "marks" as opposed to long scratches on his neck. The marks can be seen in the public interview he does prior to his confession.

Going to the timeline, I believe that he killed the children prior to SW getting home and that the "emotional conversation" was her, at first asking, "Where are the girls?"
Then, it escalated to:
"WHERE ARE THEY? WHAT DID YOU DO TO THEM? WHERE ARE MY BABIES?!?!?"
He had to admit to the "emotional conversation" in case any neighbors heard anything.

I've seen this technique applied before, and they will go totally limp in mere seconds. He had alot of upper arm strength. He could have reached in the car and applied this technique.

I have wondered the same. Was that doll pic a forewarning?
As sick and blatant as that was, I do think it was a taunting forewarning. What a sicko...how many lives has he DESTROYED that will NEVER be the same. So, so many.

I had commented yesterday re: keys in her car.... how mine are always on my dashboard since that’s how I enter and leave (garage doors). Should I go for a walk, the garage door has a keyless entry (numerical pad). I saw in one of the interviews (the one from the driveway), they also had keyless garage entry.

I had also commented that while she last used the front door to enter (as last seen by NU/NA around 2am), that I had previously noticed that they had a keyless numberical entry above their front door knob. When I noticed it, it was in one of the news reports. I questioned to myself later that perhaps that’s part of an investigation so LE, attorneys could gain entry (like a realtor). So I just went back on SW FB and found this picture from April that shows what I was referencing.
If the keys were in her car, until we know more, I can’t get hung up on that one now because that’s how she could’ve entered.
Shanann Watts
So no need for keys to get into the house.

Depends on if they determine if it premeditated or not. Spur of the moment life.

I think possibly one death could have been premediatated, but some thought would have gone into the others. Those wouldn't have been spur of the moment. I think the fact that he deleted all SM a week before killing could be seen as premediatation...trying to eliminate a digital footprint.

A few years ago, a guy killed his wife during a separation and was captured before he could wipe his FB clean. It was obvious that he was angry and disturbed from his FB.

Damn. If this is true... I feel really sorry for him and I hope his mom, or whoever he lives with, gets him into therapy ASAP! I cannot imagine how knowing your dad killed his wife and kids would impact a young teen, but I’m sure it is damaging.
I would like to know any info that the child's mother would have.

A few things I'm wondering about. Are the oil tanks involved in this case big enough for an adult to fit through the opening? Did he intend to put SW in one as well? Was she too big, being an adult, for him to get her into the tank? Where was the oil destined for? Are the tanks ever drained otherwise? When oil is removed from the tanks, is it for processing? Sale? Transfer? Would decomposition byproducts become noticable? Would the oil restrict or aid decomposition? Are they going to find internet searches on these types of questions? Were the oil tanks something he thought of before or after the murders?

In spite of things that have rubbed others the wrong way (I get it), I feel like N bit down like a pit bull and wouldn't let go when she sensed something was wrong. Had she not been so persistent and involved LE so quickly, it's possible that CW would have had more staging time, making this case that much harder for authorities to solve and prosecute.

Edited for spelling.

First. Now is not the time.

Second the statutes cannot be changed st this point to effective date anything prior to the time they were killed. As emotionalf as this may be, you can’t retro fit the law backwards. The law will stand as it was when they died.

Take for example and this is simplifying it WAY down.

If a person gets a parking ticket and the fine is $100.00. But that person got angry and left the car there for a week.

The mayor comes along and notices the car has been there a long time and the mayor wants to park there. The mayor cannot request the fine go up to $1,000.00 just because he wants to park there. ( I understand there may be other parts if parking law that might apply but for this explanation we are not going to consider those, keeping it simple)

The law can’t be changed after a crime has been committed.

I suggest you may want to research this AND speak to a LEGAL REVISOR of STATUTES FOR THE STATE OF COLORADO. I SUGGEST YOU CALL YOUR STATE SENATOR or REPRESENTATIVE.S. That’s the proper place to begin.

I do not believe this is the correct way to do this. Although your heart may be in the right place you might be wasting your time.

Comments with respect. Trying to help and I agree with the basic premise.

Well, we knew it would come down to this, didn't we??

Eikelenboom, the DNA expert working for the defense that former Denver DA Mitch Morrissey hates, has been doing research on the effects of certain male genes that respond violently to anti-depressants. He worked on the Aaron Hernandez case. I suspect you are spot on in using this as a defense. However, I see it more as an effort to keep him off Death Row which I think prosecutors are pondering.

I think she probably was quite guarded... All her posts are really centering around Thrive. They're not real personal... And my opinion only but no matter what kind of problems my friends relationships are in I would never not be shocked by their murder.
