Do we have a floor plan to their house model?

  • #542
Why does his statement explains what happened but no mention of when and how he disposed of the bodies? Im surprised that part was left off the affidavit.

  • #543
He's covered himself there - he did say they had an emotional conversation, so clearly he knows he has to explain why Shanann was being particularly loud at one point and the neighbors might have heard.
I noticed one of the witnnsses lives on the same street. Perhaps, he heard something.

LOL right? I cannot love this post enough.
This interview will be his downfall.

How could anyone believe his lies after seeing it? If his lies are to be believed - and they are not - his demeanor, his inexplicable grinning and his disgusting behavior during this interview is not the behavior of a man who knows, by his own accusations, that his whole family is dead.

There's no way he can explain away this behavior.

I think everything he says is projection. what if she came home and saw him on the baby monitor?
Apparently she was locked out of the house when she got home - latch wouldn’t open (according to N) and had to phone CW to let her in. So I’m pretty sure he had it all planned given also that her flight was delayed.

I can't either, this killer is beyond monstrous.

However, I'm always afraid of a slick defense lawyer concocting some outrageous story, and the one juror with no attention span, an inability to see past his/her nose, and the IQ of a log, falling for it.... (For example that Shannan went crazy due to some ghastly side effect from the Thrive thing combined with pregnancy and lupus, or what have you).
Yes! We have witnessed a few over the years. We all say " No Juror is going to swallow that" and then they do....

Soooo...he claims he is leaving her for someone else. He says she goes and strangles the girls because she’s so upset?? Um...wouldn’t kids being alive help you get your husband back if that’s what he’s claiming she was so upset about?? His theory makes no sense. Your kids would be one of the big reasons you go on and try to make it work! I’m pretty sure she was well aware that killing the girls would not get him to stay. He is desperate to say the least to try anything to stay out of jail. And he won’t kill himself just because he is that arrogant and thinks his good looks and charm will keep him out. Bad news dude...you ugly!!

Great post. Also SW's posts were almost invariably upbeat because her social media accounts were basically WORK social media accounts. Yes things posted were probably calculated to portray things in a deliberate way - that's because she was marketing a lifestyle product online. To make major DSM style psychological assessments of her off her internet presence is therefore ridiculous IMO.

Yeah, she was selling something. Hers wasn't just a FB page to show off pictures of the grandkids to their grandparents on the other side of the country-she literally sold a product called "Thrive." She had to show herself thriving. My #1 form of marketing comes from SM and most other people in my field would say the same. You're not just marketing your product, you have to sell yourself, too. She was apparently pretty good at that. We can't make psychological assessments of her SM presence anymore than we can make them on him due to his lack of presence.

Wouldn’t she have screamed? Wouldn’t the neighbors have heard? Why didn’t the affidavit say Shannan’s COD was strangulation?

That charging document is pretty specific on the termination of pregnancy as being her cause of death but no details on what that was

I’m not considering anything , I’m just saying, since defense ordered DNA tests , they are the ones who are considering and believing a defendant .There is on of the videos where she talks about her health challenges
Videos emerge of murdered Colorado woman praising 'wonderful' husband | Daily Mail Online

"I thought my life was crumbling underneath me and I didn't have many friends, as those I did have I lost because they didn't understand that I looked fine but felt horrible inside," she says. "I felt a lot of discomforts, a lot of aches, a lot of bad moods." Shanann adds that she initially rejected a Facebook friend suggestion for Chris, but later changed her mind when he sent a request himself.
"Because of my health challenges, I let him in... he knew me at my worst and he accepted me. Through sickness and everything, he's been there. When I first met Chris I pushed him away, I gave every excuse for him to run, I gave him an out every single day... I tortured him... But he stuck around because he was the one for me, I can't tell you how wonderful he is
She had lupus and fibromyalgia.

We have to remember he thought he had later that afternoon and evening to clean up the crime scene. Nicole screw it up for him YAY Nicole.

Yes and this is why I don’t think he even thought about trying to put her DNA on the kids. He had a plan to make it look like she ran off with the kids. And that plan didn’t go awry until Nicole called—which was after he’d put them in the oilfield.

Someone mentioned that he might have used the pillowcases as ligatures—I think it’s more likely that he used them to cover the girls’ faces as he did it with his hands.

Dear Cariis,

We may have to disagree on this one, my friend. Although you did say that you are "open" to other possibilities. I'll take that as a friendly challenge.

In my opinion, the "endless relentless non stop raving" is necessary in her "story of true love and happiness" she used constantly to promote the product.

It wasn't a true story. Shanann's friend, Nickole Atkinson told the true story.

But this was a story that could sell Shanann's product.

This is a common thread throughout most sellers' instagrams, facebooks, etc. They are marketing their products. The conferences they attend are exciting and create enthusiasm to "rave" about every single part of their lives!

They are encouraged to show the world that because this product changed their lives, they are excited and love their partners and have to tell us every day how joyous and happy their lives are.

They are told to share your excitement through selling of the product in their social media. And they do! Do they ever!

They feel "fabulous" and not just on Tuesdays but every single day!

But wait! Every single minute is fabulous ! Even when they are late for 10 appointments and are in the back of the line at the grocery store and they are so happy waiting in line. This product changed their life! They are so happy everywhere!!

They are encouraged to post positive and exciting messages about everything and everyone in their lives. Especially their spouses who support the product too!

Their spouses are not just "wonderful" but they are "the best thing that happened to me." They are the most perfect and wonderful spouses in the entire universe! This person changed my life just like this product changed my life!

She "sold" the idea of the "impossibly perfect and ecstatic happiness" just as she sold that product.

It's what the marketing conferences train them to do. They try to convince them that this form of marketing will work above all others.

I'm not saying that most of these people are not happy. Likely they are. But are they really all living a "100% impossibly perfect live"? I don't think so. We wouldn't be human if we had perfect lives.

There's nothing wrong with marketing or the conferences or anyone who sells products, of course. There's nothing wrong with making your life look "ideal" on social media. Nothing against any products. That's not my point.

I'm not making fun of anyone using enthusiasm such as this to sell a product. Hey, this method of marking works. I admit that this method has worked on me.

In my opinion, the "endless non-stop raving" you mention is "key" to a marketing strategy to sell this product.

The key clinical point, in my opinion, was exactly when C.W. began to distance himself from the family he was planning to eradicate.

He was displaying cognitive dissonance.
I worked on the facebook page and other social media sites for the non-profit that employed me. Everything had to be portrayed as super cool and upbeat, exciting, perfect, unmissable, etc. The reality was often very different: events flopped, chaos reigned, people quit or were fired, endless SNAFU. Social media was just as unrealistic about an arts non-profit as in MLM. It's all about presenting a desirable image of yourself, so people will be attracted towards you, and buy what you're offering. It's seduction.

I think he strangled the girls with the pillowcases. Roll up the long way, put around neck and pull the ends tight. I think this is why they won’t find his DNA on their necks. :(
What about no strangling and smothering them with the pillow.

Exactly and I would not be the least bit surprised if they also have handouts they give at those meetings of sample things to say on SM and tell them to feel free to copy and use them until they get the hang of it. It's part of the job of selling and especially recruiting others to sell which is how they really make their money.

We have to remember he thought he had later that afternoon and evening to clean up the crime scene. Nicole screw it up for him YAY Nicole. He had to go to work because if he didn't and she went missing it would point right to him. So had to work his shift then home to do clean up. That BS story about him telling her he was to seperate was probably part of his plan. If she had not come home that night (which of course she wouldn't because she was dead) he could tell cops well I really wasn't surprised when she didn't come home because we were going to seperate and she went to a friends. I thought she probably stayed there for the night. That gives him even MORE time to clean up.
He was the one who asked for the separation. He was the one having an affair. There is no way she would take the kids to a friends house and leave him to live in the house all by himself. That’s just stupid. She would stay in the house, he would leave.

Given that he tried to blame this on Shannan, does anyone think he would take a plea deal?

And does anyone think he would be offered one?

*honest, not sarcastic*

I don't know. It's possible. But he would have to take full responsibility I believe.

Quoting myself... there's no reasonable expectation of privacy in a police station except when you are talking to your attorney. If CW talked to his dad in an interrogation room, it's possible it was taped.

If it was somehow taped it wouldn’t be admissible as evidence, unless they were told they were being taped. However it’s very very unlikely to have been taped

All those people sound the same. It is PR.

Correct me if I’m wrong but don’t Nick and Amanda Thayer live on their street? They’re the friends that let Chris stay with them after SW and the kids went “missing”. Was it his name?

I highly doubt his brain is capable of executing such clever maneuver.
Ya never know he came up with a good place to put the girls. Crude oil covers decomposition smell and eventually crude oil gets hard like cement. How did that suddenly pop into his head? I think he had been thinking about this before it happened.
