I'm not basing victims here. I have been trying to have a Mature discussion, with no name calling, and no foul language. The facts police believe CW killed his wife and children and CW says he killed his wife because she killed the children. Until there is proof beyond a reasonable doubt on either side, it's important to look at every possibility.

Shannan is the victim by every account, except CW’s accusation. She was 4 months pregnant, and from that reveal video I think it’s safe to assume she was very content with her family and positive about her future.

All this talk about her wanting to separate, I’m not so sure it’s true. Why would Chris go back to North Carolina to visit if the marriage was over? Why would Shannan plan a gender reveal party the following weekend if they were planning to separate. I think she came home from Arizona late that night, and she was blindsided by Chris.

Ive seen some posts that his dad could have been involved.personally I cannot findany references to his family and only SW's is grieving. Does anyone know if he had his family close by.

I believe he is also from NC which is where him and Shanann met. Apparently there was an incident with CW's mother and SW while she was with the girls in NC. So I am assuming his family is still in NC. His father flew in to Colorado the day before he confessed and was with him at the police station ( according to the warrantless-arrest affidavit).

I agree. She seems like a dedicated and loving mom to me. All moms have moments when they’re a little short on patience, but those girls seemed to be the center of Shannan’s universe from what I can see.

Just yesterday I was reading an article about "mommy shaming." Thanks to SM, loads of people from all around the world are now privvy to our parenting styles and judgement is increasing. Every culture has its own set of cultural norms which might differ from country to country, but breaking it down even further you can even say that each family has its own norms. When you see a parent doing something that isn't quite endangering to the child but not something you think is appropriate, it's easy to pass judgement-especially on SM. However, we really should be stopping and taking into consideration that what we're seeing is one small brush stroke in a much bigger picture. You don't know the context of the situation and, likewise, you don't know what the parents have tried before, what that child's specific needs are, etc. I mean, I think it's weird to put your kids to bed at 6:30 when it's still daylight but they're not MY kids. I can't judge SW for that. If she'd looked at my family and saw that, in the summertime anyway, I sometimes stay up all night with my kids as we watch horror movies and eat popcorn she'd have probably thought that I was the weird one.

Something that I've been thinking about all day.

Their mortgage payment was $3000 a month. That makes me swallow very hard. If anything goes awry, if you miss three payments, with late fees, you are going to be nudging up to 9 to 10 grand in debt. And if you are missing mortgage payments, it's likely you don't have a big savings account. Nine to ten grand is a lot to get back ahead of.

Also, didn't I read somewhere (not sure if it was here?) that THRIVE didn't actually pay the car payments; they provided products to sell to make that amount. Do I have that right?

Yep. He went to work as usual, until he was boxed into a corner and had to come home and face the music. He then proceeded to do news interviews without his wedding ring, without his lupus bracelet which he had always worn, and in which he shed not one single tear. In fact, he smiled, laughed and lied his a$$ off about having anything to do with their disappearance; put on an act and pretended to have no idea where his family was. He watched as friends and family panicked and suffered in anguish and search teams canvassed the neighborhood while he knew all along exactly where he put the bodies of his wife and children. This is not the behavior of an innocent father who knows his wife and children are dead. He’s just another slimeball who can’t own up to what he has done and now has the audacity to blame his wife.

I believe it was said they are "given" $800 in "product" which in essence maybe frees up $800 elsewhere in the family budget they are "encouraged" to put toward leasing a Lexus??? Is this true? And is it how they all (MLMs) work?

Hopefully someone here can explain it so it's more clear to us.

Although it just dawned on me the truck was towed a couple days after she went missing. I'm not sure where he parked that first day he came flying home, blasting through red lights.

Either way, his story is full of doodoo, imo.

I went to watch his interview with the reporter and I had audio issues. It may sound weird but I decided to watch the full thing without audio. wow!
You would NEVER guess he was talking about his missing family. Without audio, it looks like he is talking about anything; HOA, sports, home prices in CO....anything except his missing family.

Yes, the way to watch that video is to first watch it with the sound off, noticing the folded arms hugging his chest, gesturing with only one arm, rocking back & forth & bobbing up and down. Watch how he opens his arms and drops his shoilders, relaxes & smiles when he talks about the shirt then snaps back into the chest clutching when talking about the events again.

Then watch it with the sound on and pay attention to his swallows, grins, and lip pursing

I keep wondering why Shannan was buried in a shallow grave while the girls were disposed of in oil tanks. The only answer I can come up with is the girls were murdered and disposed of first. When he came back with Shannan, maybe somebody was around, he was afraid he would be seen, so he drove to a secluded area and quickly buried her, but planned to return at a later date and put her in an oil tank when no one was around. I’m guessing that a body would remain undiscovered for years an oil tank, and that was his thinking.

Back when my daughter was a toddler, we had a husky/malmute/wolf hybrid and he had a very big cage. I took a picture of my daughter when she fell decided to play in cage. AND I closed the door. SM wasn't a thing then, I but sure emailed it to everyone I knew. I just thought the doll picture was funny. I'd take pictures of it, too. As far as putting her kids to bed at 6:30, if CW got up at 5 something for work, the whole household may have started their days quite early so the kids went to bed early. I don't read anything into that, either. I thought the hail video was very sweet. It's so obvious she was very very devoted to those girls.

That's the way I understood it, but it might be wrong. I *think* I remember reading that she earned it for 10 months last year, meaning that she had to pay 2 out of pocket.

I know we're not meant to mention other SM sites but since this case came about I've been doing a TON of research on Thrive and MSMs in general. I joined a few forums that are "anti MLMs" and the testimonials and posts are amazing. Talk about falling down a rabbit hole.

And then yesterday a friend came over. I noticed the Thrive patch on her leg right away. Spent an hour grilling her about it. I am completely fascinated with this aspect of the case.
