Defendant as part of this plea cannot come back and waive the facts. He has agreed to pay restitution for the funeral and burial. The prosecution can withdraw his plea if he were to commit another felony before sentencing.

Christopher Watts pleads guilty to murder of wife and daughters
Christopher Watts pleaded guilty to the murder of his pregnant wife and two young daughters today in exchange for prosecutors taking the death penalty off the table.

Watts, 33, pleaded guilty to five counts of first-degree murder after deliberation in the deaths of his wife Shanann and two daughters Celeste and Bella in August, according to a news release from the Weld County District Attorney's Office.

Watts also pleaded guilty to unlawful termination of a pregnancy, and three counts of tampering with a deceased human body.

The news release stated the plea deal was made with the agreement of the victims' family. In exchange for pleading guilty to all nine charges, prosecutors have agreed not to seek the death penalty.

The first-degree murder counts still carry a life sentence in prison.

Thank you to everyone for the rapid updates. I've been trying to catch up with this thread all day and finally skipped to the end to see this good news. Finally. I'm so happy to learn that justice will prevail and SW's family won't have to sit and listen to her being smeared in court by her murderer's lies. He is guilty of all counts!

#BREAKING: Shanann's family was in the courtroom today to listen to Chris Watts plead guilty to the murders. DA says once the judge accepts the guilty plea on Nov. 19 he will be able to answer more questions about what happened. @DenverChannel

I believe he was advised that the evidence was damning and that he no doubtly was going to be in prison for the rest of his life. I am actually glad that he did plea. Either way it went he was going to be in prison till he dies. That might happen sooner than death penalty. Time now for healing for Shanann's family.
