Something is weird though, I doubt they ever would have thrown the death penalty at him.

I think it was more that he didn't want his family and the public to learn all his dirty little secrets. But they can't say that is the reason

DA says Chris Watts tried to shine spotlight on Shanann and blame her for the deaths of Celeste and Bella. He says now the spotlight shines directly where it belongs, on Watts. DA couldn't say why Watts changed his story now. @DenverChannel

DA has a partial motive but can't discuss until after sentencing

If I were him, I’d want to be executed. How can he live with himself? How he can still be trying to protect his own life now is beyond me.

I hope he cries every day for the rest of his life. I hope he regrets his evil ways every single damn day. I hope the realisation and remorse consumes him. And then he can burn in Hell.

I feel relieved for all the living victims left behind, but also desperately sad. So so sad and disappointed also that we probably will not gain insight into WHY. How could he?

I never doubted he killed his babies. But it’s still so difficult to understand now he has admitted it.

Press conference, said SW’s family did not want the death penalty. DA said still does not know if girls killed before or after SW got home. Autopsies will be unsealed. Said after sentencing can discuss motive, believe they have partial motive.

And the public wasn't permitted to witness that moment? Why?

Insufficient room in the courtroom today -- turned away more than 50.

Defense used their own waivers to their advantage that provided them the opportunity to couch today's hearing as "status conference."

MOO

Hopefully! But to be honest I believe many of his "supporters" will blame her anyway. There are people out there who believed that he really killed them all but put the blame on poor Shannan anyway. So... I don't believe it will really stop. But it's a real good beginning!

The terms of this website will now have changed if I recall correctly. It will no longer allow certain discussions I think.

What a relief. :(
I had to step away so many times.

I think it is because the evidence was incontrovertible. Plain and simple. IMO

Bottom line, clearly, there's a sense of relief that there won't be a trial for Chris Watts. It'll be over and done with after the sentencing hearing in two weeks.

Ok i’m a few pages behind because inwas watching the press conference. So at the sentencing hearing- we will be able to see cw and his reaction to the sentence correct? Will he have to say his plea again?

Will he hve a chance to speak? The family?

I believe he was advised that the evidence was damning and that he no doubtly was going to be in prison for the rest of his life. I am actually glad that he did plea. Either way it went he was going to be in prison till he dies. That might happen sooner than death penalty. Time now for healing for Shanann's family.

Oh it's a great outcome. So happy for her family and friends.
