That has to be. Because family annihilators are terrified of being unmasked and of their families finding out who they are.

But that's why I thought he wouldn't plead guilty to the girls' murders.

I guess the evidence was super damning.

The evidence must have been super damning, I agree. I am relieved for the family, that they don't have to live through more months of their daughter being dragged through the mud.

Chris Watts pleads guilty to murder of Shanann Watts, two daughters
Christopher Watts, 33, pleaded guilty to five counts of first-degree murder, unlawful termination of a pregnancy, and three counts of tampering with a deceased human body.

Weld County District Attorney Michael Rourke will not seek the death penalty in the case in exchange for Watts pleading guilty to all nine counts, the DA's office announced Tuesday.

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for Christopher Watts on at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 19. He will face an automatic life sentence, per Colorado law.

A partial motive. What does that mean?

And when will that be released? When will he be sentenced?

Live ...DA NEWS CONFERENCE
Weld County District Attorney Michael Rourke said at a news conferencethat followed the plea hearing that he went to North Carolina to speak with the Rzucek family -- Shanann's family -- in order to talk about the possibilities of prosecution in the case.

He said he explained the "extraordinary delays" that are seen in current death penalty cases, including the Nathan Dunlap case, and that the Rzuceks wanted a quicker resolution in the case.

"That, to me, was the most important consideration in deciding how to proceed with this case," Rourke said.

Rourke blamed Gov. John Hickenlooper for his stance on the death penalty, which Hickenlooper has refused to carry out while he is in office, as part of the reason for going to North Carolina to discuss the plea options with Shanann's family.

The Rzuceks also appeared at the news conference with Rourke and other law enforcement agencies but did not speak.

Insufficient room in the courtroom today -- turned away more than 50.

Defense used their own waivers to their advantage that provided them the opportunity to couch today's hearing as "status conference."

MOO

No I meant the lack of cameras!

The DA sounds like a massive weight has been lifted off his shoulders, I can't imagine how relieved everyone else on the defense team and the Rzucek family feel.

I'm so glad he was unwilling to make ANY concessions in a plea deal, and the defense team still came back asking for a plea. Good for the DA, but as he correctly stated .... this is a SAD day, there's nothing to celebrate............. but at least we have closure.

Now more than ever I would like to see a video of the conference between CW and father, before he decided to tell the truth. And I bet that the impetus came from CW family to plead, similar to Mark Hacking. Who even believed his story?

The DA said he would tell what he knows after sentencing. On 11-19.

The DA quoted Shanann's mother as saying about Chris Watts: "He made the decision to take those lives, I did not want to be in the position to take his." WATCH: https://www.facebook.com/CBSDenver/videos/330076887597946/ …

Wow, SW's mom is a wonderful lady.
This is a fact so I don't have to add a MOO! (hopefully)

Something is weird though, I doubt they ever would have thrown the death penalty at him.
No. It sounds like they had the evidence to seek the death penalty but SW's family didn't want the death penalty. I can only guess that maybe his family asked him to plea so that everyone wouldn't have to go through a trial. I believe his father suspected from day 1 that he killed them all. I think he may have respected his dad enough to plead guilty.
IMO

NOVEMBER 19, 2018 is sentencing.

If that was the case, he is even more depraved than I imagined.

That would have taken some force.

I agree. Rigor or no rigor, he did, for a fact, get their bodies into those tanks. He drew three circles on either a map or satellite image to show LE where he put the bodies. LE already knew about the shallow grave, and those circles made by CW are an admission that he put them there.

I don't. At least one of his loved ones clearly hated Shanann and fully believed she murdered her kids.

So if the first felony death (SW) was described as domestic violence, does this mean he hauled off and punched her or choked her and that's where it started?
If he killed her in her sleep, how could it be called domestic violence? To me, domestic violence implies between live (awake) people.

CW tried to get a different deal, but DA refused and CW came back still wanting to plea.

The DA appears to be open and willing to discuss the details of the case. I get the feeling that on sentencing day, we will have many of our questions answered.
