I'm just so mad that the creep didn't do this from the start. He had to come up with that crap story and it feels like he killed poor Shanann twice.Ruined her reputation that she would kill the babies that she loved with her whole heart.
Yes, he's a special kind of evil.

DA says murder "after deliberation" only in conjunction with SW. But with the kids he says just "murder". So what does this mean? The kids were possibly rage killings?

He pled guilty to murder with deliberation for all three. I think he made sure to say that with SW because the baby killer had tried to pretend it was a spontaneous rage killing after he caught her strangling the girls.

I can't stop tearing up. This is as close to justice as we can get. Thinking of Shan'ann's family, wishing them a small amount of comfort from this & still knowing that it's not enough.

Fortunately he wasn’t able to inflict permanent damage to her reputation by bringing it up at trial.

He was able to open the door initially, and allow people to do his bidding.

It was vile, but truth is exposed now.

If I remember correctly DV as an enhancer was somewhere in the charging. I remember folks discussing what that may have meant. I apologize for not having any of that to link to right now.

No apologies necessary at all, I was just curious as to why they would change that particular charge for the plea deal rather than including it from the start or leaving the original. Thank you for the info! Possibly something the family requested or the DA suggested? I'm completely ignorant of the legalities, I'm just glad he's never getting out again.

I’m not at peace with any part of this.

Christopher Watts committed the most heinous act a father can commit against his girls. Shannan regardless of her personality trusted the man.

He very well should have gotten death. It will cost money to keep him breathing, eating and every need will be met for 40+ years.

A plea was far to good for him.
Thank you. CW never deserved a family. He will enter prison as a confessed baby killer, and will remain caged there for the rest of his life.

Sorry for the family and friends that lost so much because of his evil actions.

That was my concern, I want to see and know everything. Good!

I’m not sure if I want to know anymore! It’s got to be bad. IMO

It's starting to sink in, isn't it. They must be numb, but not numb like before. Sometimes you wish you could just hug someone in so much pain.

Yes. I just got off the phone with her. But not for her, today wouldn't have happened. At least not for a long, long time. And she still doesn't think she did anything other than be a good friend.
Please tell your friend she is a true hero. All the abuse I’ve seen about her online is just horrific too. So sorry people are so horrible and she has to go through that. Hopefully it stops now that he has confessed.

I'm guessing they're just making sure the record is clear that the DV enhancer applies. Just MOO :)

I was hoping this would happen. I wouldn’t have said that if it didn’t.

Interesting observation. I wonder if they woke up and saw her being killed and he killed them then? Can’t wait until more info comes out after sentencing

I'll have to go back to the video of the conference as the one you posted isn't working for me. But I recall him saying that CW plead guilty to all nine of the original charges. The original first degree murder charges for SW, Bella and Celste, were "after deliberation".

I hope that's the case. I can't see that anything less than that would be accepted. JMO.

I have trouble believing he took a plea at all because it was the right thing. And I hate to say that, but his media interviews convinced me of it. I think the evidence will be overwhelming to show pre-meditation in some way.

The job of a good and ethical defense attorney is to review the evidence and advise your client on what is best for him or her under the law that will control at trial. Sometimes you have to give your client bad news and tell them it appears that the facts are against them, the law is against them, and the state is not overreaching or violating his or her rights.

I think Chris had very good lawyers. I think they fought tooth-and-nail against the state when they thought the state was overreaching. They fought for the defendant's right to review the evidence against him.

But at the end of the day they aren't going to lead their client into a trial they do not think he can win. JMO but I think the evidence probably speaks for itself and it was not going to corroborate his story. I think some defense lawyers fall into the trap of offering their clients false hope in a bid for fame and billable hours. I'm glad that doesn't seem to have happened here.

She was the best friend a girl could ever have.

It is interesting that “after deliberation” was in Shanann’s charge but not the girls’ charges. I theorised a while ago that one or both of the girls may have witnessed Shanann’s murder and therefore it also became necessary to kill them.

On the flip side, I think someone said the DA does still not know when the girls were killed. And also, his story of Shanann would never have rung true - she’d never have left the girls.

My hope is that Shanann never knew her daughters were killed, and neither of those girls witnessed anything either. Their last moments would have been distressing enough.

Chris’ punishment should include being forced to watch his daughter singing “my daddy is my hero” over and over. Sick, sick 🤬🤬🤬.

The DA said they have at least a partial motive and will elaborate more after sentencing on the 19th. Looking forward to hearing that. MOO
I wonder if the partial motive relates to his affair. What if the AP really did break up with him that weekend? Or does a partial motive have to be more concrete.

Just thinking back to all the posts that vilified poor Shanann... I hope that Chris'confession now puts to bed all those ugly rumors. My heart breaks for the entire family.

yeah...I'm waiting for the reversals, but not holding my breath...

There are never any winners - all we can ever do is hope for justice. If Shanann's family approves of this result, I'm at peace with it. MOO

Well said. This is exactly how I feel.
