Having watched a lot of sentencings on youtube, I believe he will have to sit through victim impact statements AND there will be cameras.

November 19.

The DA also said he can reveal more after that date. And then I assume we will see the autopsy reports and hopefully the interrogation video. So I think we will indeed learn a lot more about what he did.

I hate him so much.

Don't know if it's true but I've heard through local grapevine CW's family asked that media not be present.

I believe this to be true and it 100% does not surprise me.

I'm so sorry for what you've lost, for everything you've had to endure and hear about Shanann and her girls. I hope that today brings a tiny measure of comfort that at least she's been vindicated, her reputation rightly cleared, and he will never again walk free. She seemed like a brilliant, beautiful and positive person who anyone would be lucky to know. Thank you for being here, for sharing your friend with us, and as someone else said, please let Nickole know we all feel like she's a hero.

Not sure if this is a popular thought but I am glad he pleaded guilty and just got it over with. So many fight the battle and everyone knows they did it. Think they are too smart to lose. Pleading guilty does not bring Shan’Ann or the girls back or take the loss and hurt away from the family but it saves them from having to go through the trama all over again. Now they can move forward how ever that is possible or whatever it takes knowing he did not get away with this heinous crime or have the opportunity to further victimize Shan’ann with his wild accusations.

I'm with you.

Early on before he "confessed", I posted that I thought he would confess. But after I heard what he said I was certain he would continue to destroy her. To drag her memory through the mud.

I was terrified for her family. No way could they get through a trial.

Thank God he pled guilty. Thank God. This is justice. The death penalty is meaningless in CO anyhow.

I felt like crying with relief for her poor family. This is good for them.

GUILTY.

I give a lot of credit to Shanann's friend who came by because she foiled the plot. She screwed up the entire plan leaving him no time to carry out a better plan. Had she not been such a caring friend this would have been dragged out a lot longer and who knows if he would have ever been arrested

Well I am sure she would want to be a witness today, and most likely knew what was about to happen, I think highly of her for not being there as she did her part in this horrible story. And she is leaving the rest for the law to finish.

All of the individuals who have stood up for Shanann have been remarkable individuals. Each individually new one to talk, new wind and not talk, and to let the law take over. A very impressive group of individuals which lead to what has just happened now and may not have happened if they had acted differently. In my opinion.

Press has already started badgering her again, but she's only going to comment if SW's family asks her to. Hopefully it will die back down soon. And the nasty social media comments too. There are more mean people in the world than I knew.

My bet is she is going to give an interview to a major program at some time in the future. It will be her chance to speak and reveal all and defend her friend.

Agreed. I feel we will get disclosure of almost everything you listed. And stuff we didn't know about.

But I think it's shameful that a profession of guilt wasn't allowed to be recorded. The public has an interest in this case. A baby killer pleading guilty and admitting he was a liar.

Thank you, that's reassuring. I so hope we do.

And I agree with you 10000%. I can't decide which is stronger, my relief at the fact that he pled guilty to all charges, my grief and sadness for Shanann and her family, or my bitterness at how it all went down and how protected and shielded he and his side of things were.

The only consolation is Shanann's family (or at least her Mom) did not want the death penalty. I thought it was to avoid a trial and dragging SW through the mud even more. I'm sure that's part of it but she's made it clear to family, friends and the DA she didn't want a 5th life to be taken. Doubt I would feel the same way, but think it's only fair that family made the call.

God Bless her family. I know a lot of people have said the death penalty is not really active in CO but I really think if SW's family had wanted the DP this could have gone to trial. I think there was enough evidence he could have gotten the DP. SW's family are more gracious and forgiving than CW deserves.
MOO.

If all parties including the Judge knew this was coming, why did they still exclude visual media coverage by calling it a status conference? Who were they trying to appease?

I don't know any better, but I am going to align myself with those who are thinking it was part of the plea deal. That it would be done on Election Day to bury it in the media, and also not to having any media present livestream.

Same here! The picture of the family in the courtroom, and SW’s Dad is holding his son’s hand made me tear up.

Now the healing can begin.

Since the Court has no control outside of the Courtroom, I'm surprised there were not more cameras outside the doors (or even violator sneaking shot inside thinking it worth the risk and/or cost). For all the defense allegations of leaks to media, they did a great job keeping up the "status hearing" ruse. MOO

I don't know what it is, but I didn't break into tears until I saw this one word post.

Says it all. The true heart of it all. He will never, ever, ever walk free again.

Poor Shan’Ann had her name dragged through the mud...glad she may now Rest In Peace.

I hope it's to Keith Morrison who I LOVE!

Plus, though death row is a special hell on earth in and of itself, I seriously doubt he will ever be in general population or released from some sort of protective custody or segregated unit with locked down cell time most of his days.

Baby killers aren't liked in prison. At all.

Didn't the DA state at the presser that he would be in isolation in regular prison or on death row?

Autopsy reports should tell more sooner than later. Unless a court seals the police /investigation records, they'll eventually be available too.

The DA said after sentencing.

I think it's interesting that when killers give these bizarre confessions many people think it means the crime was the work of a criminal mastermind fooling LE and intentionally confessing to things that would refute elements of a crime.

Really, they end up locking themselves into a false story before any evidence is reviewed and they put themselves in a much worse position than if they did not say anything at all.

If you lie in your confession, you're a liar throughout trial. You no longer get to effectively challenge the state's evidence - you've already proven to be a liar. The jury won't trust you, even if the state's case is weak.

I think that's what happened here, and what will end up being shown to have happened in Mollie's case too. These aren't criminal masterminds, they're weak little men who fall apart during LE questioning. I hope we don't glorify and give them any more credit than they deserve - which is none.
This.. 5 stars!

He will have to say he pleads guilty and I can’t wait to hear him say it. Wife killer. Baby killer. Bella, Cece, and Nico deserved better.

I have a feeling CW is not going to be able to cope with LWOP.
I think he may take himself out.
