So glad to see this news in the header today; I've completely failed to keep up to date with this case but have been reading the threads as time permits, I'm just about 2 months behind the rest of you. I'm so glad Shanann's family don't have to go through the uncertainty of a trial; it seemed obvious right from the start that he was the only one responsible for everything, but you never can be sure what will happen in court, so that must be such a relief to them. It'll never bring them back, but at least justice will be served - and coming from the UK, I like US sentencing a lot better than ours in cases like this; he really will get life in prison. Good riddance.

Thank you for this information. I wish everyone knew this so they would finally stop questioning why NUA was checking in on her so soon that day. Her concern for her friend shows what an exceptional person she is truely.
Yep. I’ve thought a lot about what I would have done in NUA’s shoes. There’s a good chance I would have just driven away worried because I didn’t have the balls to butt in/risk pissing people off. Everyone would still be wondering where SW went and CW might have stayed free forever.

NUA trusted her gut and risked looking silly to call the police. I hope to be more like her when I grow up.

Yup. This was the best possible outcome, especially since no concessions were made.

“Take it or leave it,” and he took it.

Fortunately, life means life in this case. I hope it’s a long and miserable one.

His dead face.

This photograph really creeps me out! Maybe it's all because I know what happend shortly after this moment, but his appearance alone seems so "unsettling" to me... like he has mentally already checked out. Besides one smiling person an rather "unhappy" photograph of such an actually happy event, if you asked me. Like it caught an eerie atmosphere.

Hi Violet101,

I am going to have to say no to the podcast. No offense to the women hosting the podcast but it contains rumors and statements that cannot be backed up with any sort of evidence.

Some of the things said on the podcast would cause this thread to explode into a fireball of anger like never before on Websleuths.

Again, I am not trying to disrespect the hosts but it is not a show for Websleuths.

Tricia

Thank you, I am glad for this. I didn’t know who they were so I did a web search and listened to parts of a recent podcast today.

I don’t know if it’s how they always are, but I ended up disgusted and feeling like I wanted to shower. It didn’t feel very victim friendly in places with a lot of gossipy rumors. JMO.

Agree, but what I meant from my OP was that I bet his lawyers are relieved now.
Oops. No idea how/why that got linked to your post. None. The WS server apparently hates my phone.

Found a beautiful tribute video. Wow. :(
Sorry if someone already posted it. We are at 46 threads.
The person that made the video says,

"I read a FB comment from Frankie Rzucek who is the brother of Shanann Watts and the uncle of Bella, CeCe and unborn child Nico. In the comment he wrote that he didn't know how to make a video and attached some photos".

Thank you for sharing, whisper, a beautiful and unique tribute to Shanann and her loving girls, very well done using the Tree of Life!

His dead face.
Creepy, creepy, creepy. Wonder what/who he’s staring at. CiCi’s little face is killing me—she felt so safe and happy holding on to Daddy’s leg. <modsnip>

Exactly.

This is the face of a father who is about to strangle his two innocent tolldera to death.

She's a great person.

I wouldn't be surprised if the autopsy showed signs of sexual assault. Imo

I believe the autopsy reports will be very revealing-particularly SW’s report. I have always speculated that she was meant to go into the oil tanks too and that her shallow grave (easy to spot) wasn’t just an accidental oversight but done out of necessity. She wouldn’t have fit into the openings he got the girls through and therefore might have desecrated her body but ran out of time.

In fact-I’ve always believed he felt he could get away with this and had thought it through but it didn’t work out as he had planned. Had he merely had another day to finish what he was setting up, this case would have played out very differently. I also speculate that the autopsy reports hold damning information that he would never have been able to explain away but would have made him out to have been even more heinous and despicable under the circumstances MOO.

He's going to kill himself. That's my belief. The minute he can he will. This kind of guy won't be able to stand hearing what's said about him and to him at sentencing. He will be so destroyed by that he won't be able to go on.

I think he's going to pull an Aaron Hernández or Ariel Castro after sentencing.

And he has nothing but prison to look forward to with no hope of getting out.

I say he takes himself out at the earliest possible opportunity.

I hope they watch him closely because he deserves to serve his sentence. Every last bit of it.
I completely agree! This was also my first thought when learning of CW's plea deal, and questioned whether or not CW might try killing himself before sentencing-- (hoping for the a la Arron Hernandez outcome, i.e., murder conviction abated). Disclaimer: I've no knowledge of impact on Colorado conviction when death occurs prior to sentencing.

Would Solitary Confinement be that you spent your time in your cell, perhaps being able to walk for an hour, outside cell, having an escort?
Would you have access to books, newspapers, cards, studying various topics ie. limited internet?
Would you be allowed limited visitors?
You would be housed and fed.

Hugs back to ALL of you who stood by Shanann and the girls even if you never had the chance to know them. I wish you had--she was truly good and her positive energy was contagious and the little girls were cute with so much promise. I'm not particularly spiritual but I know SW is grateful and smiling down at all of you. I hope you can feel it too.

I've been reading people saying they're teared up, and now *this* post is the one that's done it for me!

That's so beautiful, Colorado, thank you <3

I speculate that the autopsy might show that the girls were drugged. Which would immediately show premeditation right? Along with the fact Shanann could not have done it, given he alleged she snapped. There’s his own words working against him.

He may have hoped that even if the bodies were ever found, that the condition would be bad enough that toxicology couldn’t be done.

I dunno. MOO.

After reading the Written Waiver and Guilty Plea I think BW & CW were most likely killed prior to SW & NW. I really hope SW didn’t know her babies were killed or see them. :(:(:(:(

I was gone this afternoon, so I haven't caught up. Can you explain what about the waiver and plea makes you think that? I have thought that since the beginning, but it was just a feeling.

I would think they can, but what difference would it make? He has no assets and is already paying restitution for the funerals/burials.

I was wondering about selling the house. Like will anyone actually buy it? I know I wouldn't want to live there and I suspect many people would feel the same way. I hope maybe someone buys it and guts it and remodels it so it's totally different and the family gets any proceeds from the sale. But I also think it may go to the bank...

Where I live, properties where murders occur, sell well below market value.

He would have access to that stuff I think (ex pet the internet) and also visitors. He's been on suicide watch and that's different.

Generally, he’d be kept in a cell for 23 hours a day.

He’d be allowed an hour in an enclosed recreational area. It’s a bit like a cage.

Different prisons have varying rules, but he would have access to reading materials, and probably non-contact visits.

After he is sentenced, newspapers will run their usual headline “What Will Life Be Like For Chris Watts Behind Bars?”

We’ll get a better picture then.

Mine too. The page keeps dropping down to a survey before I can read even one comment. Don't know how to fix it. I'm afraid to answer the survey, but it's right at the bottom of this page so if I answer it, will it stop switching me to it? Does anyone know?
