Shanann's song imo

IMO, you can make a plea deal for the crime committed, but not for the sentencing. The Prosecuter can say he will recommend no more than ——- to be served, but it ultimately will be up to the judge to determine the length of sentence.
Yes.
Read it more closely. It says something to the effect of under certain circumstances. Which @gitana1 explained. He's not getting out. Ever. jmo
Oh I certainly agree. He isn't getting out.

Edited to say: I wish I knew how I did this.

...As I said in another post serious SP mom vibes from Mrs.Watts. Disdain for the outspoken, NATURALLY charming, bubbly DIL who “snagged” her golden boy son who she doesn’t deserve (IMO)

Not only disdain, jealousy. But it is an old, old history.

My sincere hope, is that everyone who supports him to the extent that they believe he isn’t completely responsible, and that Shanann bears any blame whatsoever, changes their tune following sentencing.

There have been months of lies, insinuations, and slander. There shouldn’t have been any.

Damage has been done, and her family has suffered as a result of these lies. It is vile.

Yup...”and now look at what that little witch made him do, my boy was perfectly fine until SHE came along...” that history sure does likes repeating itself!

Pot or anything else.

It might be SW’s records, too. Example - lupus-cerebritis that could cause emotional changes. Then it would be sealed because the public is already against her. Not to provide them with more food to chew on.

But anyone reasonable would still ask, hey, your wife had problems, but why did you need to kill the girls?

So it does not work out either way.
the public is already against her???
excuse me?
this is news to me :confused:

Such is the power of the Internet that it sometimes deprives people of the true perspective.

People were so absorbed in dissecting minute details of Shannan's life and online presence that some stopped seeing the bigger picture. The fact that Shanann's husband violated the main principle of human morality by murdering her and two daughters for no reason other than his comfort got dampened by the chorus of voices criticizing Shanann.

Chris Watts will be sentenced by the court. But our human community should sentence him, too, and very loudly.

If we don't do it, it will mean that we think it is OK to annihilate our families, kill our next generation on a mere whim for whatever trivial problem we encounter in life.

So people who supported Chris Watts should not merely change the tune. They should condemn him, and every voice has to be heard.

Sorry, I referred to the internet critique and I should have said, "some public". I just wrote about it. Wrong phrasing.

I absolutely agree with you, but I have no expectation that will happen.

It’s not unique to this case of course, but it is especially true here.

Shanann will still be blamed, and somehow, CW will be seen as a victim by some.

Because it is always a woman's fault. How many times have we seen men killing their child and the first comment is 'Where was the mother of this child?'

You know that saying “You can choose to be happy”? I think that was SW. I think she just wanted to be happy and live her best life. Miserable people who are unhappy with their lives don’t like people like her. I hate to pull the jealous card but I do think they were jealous. They, unlike SW, choose to be miserable and wallow in it. I see it all the time by women commenting on other women’s SM although the way SW, a murder victim, has been talked about and treated takes the cake.

Sadly. I'd rather we sentence him and forget about him. But no doubt he will get his fan mail.

The only people who have the right to support him are his parents. Because our love for our children is unreasonable, blind and selfless.

Such bitter irony. CW's parents, predictably, love, support and protect their son, who is in jail ultimately for failing to provide to his kids love, support and protection.

If he walked into the courtroom to an empty gallery and was told no-one came because no-one cared, do you think he would be relieved or dismayed?
I think he would be relieved.

Yup. How ironic.

Support is fine. Support is understandable.
But I draw the line when anything is said or implied that impugns Shanann’s character.

Time for bed. Loving this podcast. Will continue tomorrow. I especially am appreciating the discussion about "contrarians" and the attention seeking that goes with that. IMO It caused a lot of grief on these threads. I don't visit SM or other sites.
I will say, and I hope it doesn't get me in trouble here, I wish that Shannan had been treated like a victim here from the beginning. But part of me understands why the stance that was taken was taken. Gonna keep Shining like Shannon. Makes me feel bettter about myself. jmo
I feel the same. Had there been any evidence against her, I would understand the discussion and expect it. To just take the word of a confessed killer, never made sense to me.

Yes!! Thank you!!

"From an insider who was there the day it happened. Here is what they said:

There was an unopened bag of pistachios on top of the kitchen island. She saw them, Laughed and said "Mimi, we can't have these" and put them on top of the fridge. I guess most importantly.. They were unopened and not on the bottom shelf

Pistachio story cleared up. No need to discuss this any further.

Tricia"

When I first read about the nut incident, a red flag went off in my head. The fact SW went online to express her frustration and anger, shows how bad that situation with her MIL made her feel. I didn't quite buy the VI response about it being only about an unopened bag of nuts...as I thought there was way more to it. Based on my mental heath training, usually for a person to be triggered the way SW was (based on her FB posts) her boundaries have been violated. Eg personal, and parental etc and she felt a total lack of respect for her and her daughters needs.

As for the icecream incident.. That was a huge red flag!! Cruel and very unloving. I know people will disagree with me.. But usually grandmother's tend to be known for loving and spoiling their grandkids. Not all obviously,

Obviously this information is all gleened from what we know and we weren't there that day. But something triggered so much frustration for SW.

There's a level of sexism and self-loathing coming from the people, all women that I witnessed, that were determined to slander and fabricate scenarios based on the words of an admitted killer. (He always admitted to having killed SW and Nico so why they thought him incapable of killing Bella and Cece is beyond me.) It's a reality in our world but this case really brought it to the forefront. Why do certain women feel compelled to believe a murderous male over an innocent female victim? I realized for some there's an element of fear in these cases because admitting that SW was just a regular, working mom trying to make a better life for her girls and family whose husband decided to slay them all opens up the reality that it could happen to them also. Yet this goes beyond that need to separate yourself. The number and level of openly venomous remarks was just appalling.
