Thank you so much for sharing this.

ETA hopefully let's find a way to share these authors. And thanks for this thread and forum.

I can’t take any credit for this forum, but I will let Tricia know that you are thankful for Websleuths. I know she will appreciate it.

On an optimistic note, someone might even write a book about this crime and donate some or all of the proceeds to research on lupus or to a domestic violence prevention charity. It’s certainly possible.

This made my heart smile. And I don't care if it's not "cool" for a guy to say this. This case has changed my life and perspective.
I hope this happens. I hope if it is written about it all goes to lupus and domestic violence. Hell I am writing about this now in my women studies class.
This case matters.
Thank you @liltexans

Tomorrow I'm going to wake up and shine like Shanann. I will feel better about myself.

I would feel conflicted, for sure, but I also think that his mother will visit. I am interested to see if he gets transferred to a federal facility near NC.

Is going to Club Fed possible? I sure hope not. I don't think he should be able to leave CO.

Where I live (not the US) they have to serve part of their sentence where the crime was committed and after good behaviour can be transferred to a jail closer to their relatives. I think that this is done with the relatives feelings in mind, not the jailed one.

Night sleuthers. We may not meet in person ever. But I have coffee and dinner with you every day. Thank you for educating me, correcting me, supporting me, and giving a forum for victims. Truly, I'm so glad I accidentally found this place. Gonna keep Shining Like Shannan. This forum has changed me. Thank you.

I wondered about that too. I also read something right after saying he had to pay restitution for burial and funeral expenses something about paying for any treatment. I wonder what that might mean too.

I saw that, too. I think it's intended to include mental health treatment and physical health treatment that are the result of what he has done to the living victims. They didn't define "victim" but her family comes to mind, and this might include her friends, too.

He'll never pay - how can blood be squeezed out of a turnip? It might be there in case he comes into some money, and perhaps to also drive home the point that his actions have left many living victims.

Does he "get" any of it? I don't think he ever will. I also don't think that whoever is in charge of the "hit brigade" that took out after Shannan all over the Internet will ever get "it", either. They probably have a history of having to protect him from the consequences of his own actions, and whatever it takes to do that is justified.

I think that it is just symbolic in that he owes her loved ones a debt.

Thank you, too, Johnny. I really enjoy your posts. It's very hard to see evil done to innocent, genuinely good people. It is uplifting and it restores my faith in mankind to see other good people advocate so very passionately for the victims. You are one of those people!

He had sign it - it's a contract. If he comes into money, they can collect if expenses are incurred, IMO.

If one parent has been over indulgent and the other more realistic then they will continue that way, as with the Anthonys. Cindy continues to make excuses for Casey, visits her, probably subsidizes her ($) and George has come to know the truth and has cut her out of his life.

Dr. Keith Ablow, has what appears to be a varied reputation with some, but it appears he is also respected by others for expertise and opinions. He wrote the book "Inside the Mind of Scott Peterson".

I saw an interview he gave and he doesn't seem to think much of either George or Cindy. In that interview he said they both know exactly what turned Casey into a killer. It appears he believes that Jose Baez was truthful in his opening statements.

Yeah, it's not since this isn't classified as a federal crime. It's a state crime, so he should stay out of Club Fed. I was just pondering. He could possibly be transferred to another state prison. Each state has their own rules and I'm not sure what CO's are. Some states grant requests for inmates who want to be closer to family but some states (like Oklahoma)don't.

Yes, that too, but that is not likely for some time.

Have you seen the movie WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN? It explores the relationship between a mother and a son who went on a school shooting spree and then took out his dad and little sister. I realize that this is slightly off topic, but I think the complicated continuing relationship between CW and his parents is interesting and something worth contemplating. As a mother, I have no idea how I'd feel.

Another one to watch is the documentary called The Family I Had. About a mother whose 13 year old son stabbed his 4 year old sister to death, and their relationship moving forward. That’s a real hard one.

Thanks! I just started researching Colorado laws for confinement and so far I found that the State recently revised rules for "solitary confinement" after the murder of the former state corrections director.

Colorado officials say prison inmates can't be held in solitary confinement for more than 15 days, the latest effort to overhaul a practice criticized by the state prison chief as "torture."

If I was him I’d rather be in solitary confinement. They don’t like child killers in prison and he will likely be a target for attack.

Federal prisons do not withhold the location of where inmates are housed but this law does not apply to State prisons. It's very likely that inmate CW's location may be secret.

Change could be coming to Colorado's 'secret prison' system

When notorious criminals need to be moved, the state does it through the Interstate Corrections Compact, an agreement where states swap dangerous or unruly or famous prisoners.

I think protective custody where they are allowed to have interests and reading material but protected for their safety. Solitary is a punishment with no comforts.

Solitary confinement is nothing short of torture, especially when it's prolonged. You're not allowed reading material, to speak to the guards (or anyone), to watch television, etc. It is smaller than a horse stable. Many activists are out there working right now to have it removed from our prison systems. Being put in solitary is much different than being in protective custody where you're still allowed certain things yet are removed from everyone else. I'm not saying that I wouldn't want this for CW, but I definitely wouldn't want it for myself. I'd literally rather be dead.

What Does Solitary Confinement Do To Your Mind?

Prior to CW's guilty plea I was open to the idea that he was telling the truth. I was 99% sure he was responsible, but I was still open to it until I had more information. Now that he's plead guilty I'm completely embarrassed and to be honest, I'm not sure I'll ever be so open to other possibilities again. Has anyone else followed a thread and gone down this road before?
Don't feel bad, we are all human and have different perceptions. I was with you every step of the way. For me personally, i have to be 100% sure before condemning anyone, I also try and see the good in people. I also am an appalling judge of character!
For me, I couldn't see either of them, with 100% certainty, killing the girls. My favourite theory was that when CW woke in the morning they were all dead and he panicked o_O
