In regards to your comment about Ted Bundy’s eyes and how they had “that” gleam, but then you appeared to doubt yourself so said “tons” of people have it...I am more inclined to agree with your first thought that there’s something to be said about it. Especially after cases like this. Where the person seemed so “normal”...but then there was SOMETHING about the eyes...I think that “gleam” that we don’t immediately label happiness, worry, sadness, excitement (because we can’t quite put a finger on it) is our instinct recognizing psychopathy, something missing, something sinister! I don’t know if I’m making any sense because this site makes my mind think a million things at once/morbidly excited lol but basically...I agree with your thought that a “gleam” (or even noticing something about someone’s eyes that you can’t name) means something. We’re just used to talking ourselves out of it and ignoring that tons of people have it. Until tragedies like this.

Yes! Robert Hare who studies psychopaths said that they cause the hair to stand up on the back of your neck. There's a look in the eyes.

But he described it more like shark eyes.

Regardless, something is there that sensitive people pick up on and it's something different from others. Something sinister.

@Johnny1181, did you add the latest paragraph later, or did I not notice it? I think it ended with the link, no? I clicked on it, started answering. Got distracted. The part about SW I see only now...

My answer is not about SW. Now that I am reading Shanann part, I agree, though, I should say not “the public” but “some public on the social media”.

What I meant in the post - really, who cares what is in his medical records? There might be some aggravating facts, or something random. I now think it is random, trivial, but related to his sexual activity. And totally irrelevant in the light of the murders.

CW as the person before the day of the killings is honestly, not important. Whatever illnesses or conditions he had are irrelevant to me, except for something that could have teaching value for all of us in the future. In the big scheme of events, I don’t care if he cheated, and what gender he preferred.

What makes him subhuman is that he killed his family. Two girls and a pregnant woman. And as we now know, planned it. This is what seals his fate. I never doubted it was him.

But you owe me an answer, too, from the previous thread. Why did you regard the post expressing concern about possible lack of security in prisons as an attack on Shannan?

Simple review of my posts shows that I never ever doubted he killed them all.

(To such a degree that after a while, I decided not to follow social media because of irritation apologies of CW caused in me. I now regret it because there were gossips that at least provided a possible motive that per TOS was not discussed here).
I'm very confused by your posts. I think at this point I'm going to continue to enjoy conversation on this thread and hope that you do as well.

Apart from the autopsies, would the prosecutor have disclosed other evidence to the defence yet? (prior to the plea deal)

CW agreed that they held enough evidence to convict him at trial.

I'm not experienced with this but usually it's after arraignment. And it can be hard from what I've seen to get the state to release evidence in a timely manner. So it's an intriguing question.

What did the state reveal is anything? What did the defense know?

I do care where he disposed of them. Not enough that he sees fit to end their lives, he then has to strip every bit of dignity from them in death. He may have stopped being human when they died, but they did not.

@ZsaZsa, I hold the belief that our life ends when we die. After that, we exist only in the memories of the people who loved us, but it is not life.

So to me, when he squeezed the breaths out of his children’s throats, he stopped existing as a human being. I don’t imagine crude oil. I imagine him strangling them. His own daughters. And for what? Some social advancement?

Agree. I'm definitely not expecting an explanation for this horrific crime.
But I do hope that after all Shanann's name has been dragged through in the aftermath, who he truly is will be brought to the light of day. An evil, cheating, lying, manipulative FA. jmo

The DA does not expect CW would tell the truth.
It would be great, if CW has been thinking deeply, in the last few months.
He has pleaded guilty.:):)

We don't expect very much more from CW now, but he may surprise us.
Could he possibly explain why he committed these acts, what lead him to do this?
He could do this, so the 'world' understands his flawed reasoning, that he was overcome with this horrific plan.
By doing this, he may gain sympathy, explaining his thoughts.

I totally agree with you and believe it will be the best option for both of us :)

He may try to gain sympathy, but will fail miserably in that effort, atleast among most people.

There is no explaining away, no minimizing what he did. It’s too horrific and evil to mitigate his actions.

Could he surprise us and say something that comes close to the truth? Sure. But I’m not anticipating that.

I’ve seen it too many times during sentencing to expect him to do anything different.

It will almost certainly be a self serving lie though, whatever he says.

I’ll let the evidence speak to the truth, and I hope there’s enough to form a coherent motive, and timeline.

I don't think that it is a religious thing to treat bodies with respect. It is a tenet of most cultures, religious or not.

It’s something inherently human to treat bodies with respect.

You’re right, religion isn’t a necessary element of this behavior.

Edited to add there are no demanded explanations owed to anyone here as you claimed. This is a forum of discussion, opinions, and civil disagreement. At least that's how I see it and why I participate. jmo

just listened to it and it was beyond great. I have had my opionions during this time but hesitated to write them bcs others do that so much better than I do. One thing stood out (for me) from the start and that is the nut incident and I do honestly think it really happened. That said I sincerly feel sorry for CW parents to be in this tragic nightmare.

I believe it happened too! I also believe this incident is helping fuel her reported doubt in her son’s guilt (on top of being his mother). She probably in her own way felt like Shan’ann deserved it...IMO!!!
I’m really not trying to paint an ugly picture of a victim in their own right buttt I’m getting serious SP mom vibes...
That being said, I wouldn’t wish this situation on her regardless.

It might not have been anything very important -Susan Smith sent her two children, strapped into their car seats, into a lake to drown because her boyfriend told her he didn't want the responsibility of kids. IMO it could turn out to be something related to the AP...

SW’s friend Lauren who was one interviewed by news in Colorado, gave some background info recently that I think gives more insight into CW’s family relationship. She said that SW and CWs mom and sister always had a volatile relationship from the beginning. The mom was used to having say over CW and didn’t like to give up that control. Their relationship was so bad that the mom and sister didn’t go to their wedding or birthday parties but the father did. The father always got along great with SW.

She also said that both CW and SW found out baby was a boy in NC. She could never have predicted CW would do this, she even had CW babysit her kids before. She said there was never any abuse and she thinks he snapped in the heat of the moment. Also the couch where the phone was found was right in front of the bedrooms, so she thinks phone ended up in struggle.

There is indeed something inherent in treating dead bodies with respect.

I'm a major in Philosophy and Anthropology. It surprised me to learn through my studies that, hell, even the Neanderthals buried their dead with reverence. Before religion took hold. See link for an easy to read reference.

This "man" mourned nothing. He climbed up those ladders twice, and dumped his babies. He put dirt over his wife and unborn son.

This matters to me.

I haven't seen this. Do you have a link?

Although CW has admitted it was premeditated and not done in the heat of the moment.

@PommyMommy I have been scouring to find the thread where I believe Tricia made a statement on the nut incident and I can't find it! Do you recall? You are the wizard of info for sure and I'm grateful for it!

This is a lot of information that asserts a lot. Such as the killer's mom and sister didn't attend his wedding. The killer's mom and sister didn't attend Bella and CeCe's birthdays.

I'm really hoping for a link to this interview. It's very possible that I missed it somehow. If there is no link to the source I hope this post is deleted. jmo
