I believe when he put them in the tanks, he thought they were dead. I have worried for a long time that they weren't. I also believe, there is something in those autopsy reports that proves he is the killer. The plea deal makes no sense otherwise. The babies COD must have been drowning.
Something has to be so significant in the autopsy that it had to be sealed and it resulted in a speedy plea deal.
I’ve never thought he could get them in the containers if they were awake and presumably fighting it. And I never thought he would be so cruel as to allow them to suffer such a horrific death.
Perhaps the toxicology showed they were given large amounts of Benadryl. That would prove premeditation and totally blow his story, too.
Something extreme was revealed in the autopsy.
I think the confusion came from the podcasts. My understanding that Cw's mother did not raise this in court and this is for seveal reasons, one including that the judge would not allow such an outburst and 2, if it happened in open court, it would have been reported.
This is where his mother says that she was shut down and not allowed to discuss the plea deal. - Chris Watts' parents break their silence after son's guilty plea in murder of wife, daughters
Me either, and although CW’ parents are not to blame (the only person to blame is him) if it were my child that had murdered his family I would be asking myself where the hell I went so wrong as a parent. I wouldn’t be able to help but blame myself as I suspect she will once the denial wears off and the horrendous truth sinks in.I can't imagine anything so devastating as your kid doing something like this, seemingly out of the blue. The worst possible timeline IMO.

100 % agree.Reality check time;
Prosecution charged CW with nine (9) crimes, including five (5) charges of premeditated murder. The charges were supported by facts and evidence, including the autopsy. Upon receiving the autopsy results the defense team contacted the prosecution about a plea agreement. A plea agreement was finally reached with the only concession by the prosecution being; the removal of the DP. CW pled guilty to ALL nine (9) counts. CW, in essence, admitting he was guilty of ALL nine crimes. The judge asked CW understood the charges he was pleading guilty to and he affirmed it was so. The autopsy results and some evidence will be released within 24 hours of the sentencing on November 19th and are expected to fully support the prosecutions case. The reality is CW was investigated, charged, was fairly represented, and because of the facts and evidence, chose to plead guilty on ALL counts. CW murdered them all. The murders were premeditated.
Parents grieve and anguish for their children and two families have been devastated by these crimes. Still, in the end, it was all CW and only CW is responsible. Shanann, Bella, Cece, and Nico are only victims and in no way, or by any stretch of the imagination, deserved their fates. They do deserve to be remembered with dignity and respect.
Good question!Thank you. The article still doesn’t make it clear to me exactly when she was shut down about telling CW not to plea. Which podcast reported the outburst? The WS podcast or the one we can’t discuss? And who reported it to the podcast?
As far as I know Chris hasn't asked for any of this. His parents are desperate to make everyone understand he couldn't have killed Bella and CeCe. CW says differently, I believe his plea.I'm starting to get the feeling there will not be a sentencing on Monday![]()
Christopher Watts' mother: Rescind guilty plea in deaths of daughters, wife
Christopher Watts’ mother says her son was coerced by his lawyers into pleading guilty to murdering his wife and two daughters, and that he should withdraw his pleas and contest the charges — especially the killing of his two girls, which she believes he didn’t commit.
“I know he confessed, but he was railroaded into it,” Cynthia Watts, of Spring Lake, N.C., said Monday in regard to her son’s guilty pleas in the murders of his 34-year-old wife, Shanann, and daughters Bella, 4, and Celeste, 3. “I want him to take back the plea deal.”
Denver attorney H. Michael Steinberg said that if Christopher Watts wishes to withdraw his guilty plea, it is possible the judge would consider that before his sentencing, which is scheduled for Monday. But he would have to offer a better explanation than just the fact that he changed his mind. One possibly valid reason would be that Christopher Watts has not received a psychological evaluation, Steinberg said.
“That would be a significant issue. This case is so high profile the judge may want to make sure everything was done appropriately,” Steinberg said.

Given that he annihilated his entire family, I think a psych eval would be the first thing they would do, but I don't know for a fact that they did one. It sounds as though the attorney is saying "if." MOOBut is that a fact that he has not received a psych eval, or is the attorney saying IF he has not.
Shanann's family responds
Early Tuesday morning, the parents of Shanann Watts — Frank and Sandra Rzucek — responded to the Watts' family interview. Their statement reads:
“Shanann Watts was a faithful wife, and the most gentle and loving mother in the world to her children Bella, Celeste, and Nico. She was also the best daughter any parent could ever hope for. Shanann was a wonderful soul.
Everyone who knew Shanann knows this to be true. Even Chris Watts knows this to be true. Yet Chris Watts still chose to murder Shanann, Bella, Celeste, and Nico. Chris Watts still chose to dump the bodies of his own family in oil tanks. And Chris Watts still chose to lie about it until he could lie no more. He pled (sic) guilty to murdering his family because he is guilty.
Monday evening, the parents of Chris Watts gave an interview in which they attempted to defend their son. In doing so, they felt the need to make vicious, grotesque and utterly false statements about Shanann. Their false statements, however hurtful and inaccurate, will never alter the truth about Shanann, and will never alter the truth about the crimes committed by their son, Chris Watts.
Shanann’s memory and reputation deserves to be protected. And her family is fully prepared to do so.”

If he isn't asking for new representation, how can anyone force it on him. How would he be hearing his poor Mother disintegrate. (IMO)As far as I know Chris hasn't asked for any of this. His parents are desperate to make everyone understand he couldn't have killed Bella and CeCe. CW says differently, I believe his plea.
Colorado Judicial BranchCan anyone point me where to read the legal documents, i.e. motions filed in this case? I can't seem to find them.
You're most welcome. Nice to see you today.[Thank you poet]
