When I was expecting my first child, I had a neighbour who had just come home from hospital to discover that her husband had been having an affair for the duration of her pregnancy. Within hours of bringing the baby home, he told her he was leaving her for the mistress. She was beyond devastated. My friends and I gave her all the support we could, but 18 months later, she did exactly the same thing to another woman. I would have thought, knowing what a painful experience it was to be treated like that, it would be the last thing you'd do to another woman. I just don't get how women can be so unbelievably brutal to one another.

Oh man. One thing I never expected was the affairs that would take place during the kindegarten years amongst the people you are on the journey with. You come to know them via their kids and then bang - suddenly all these rotten scandals come out.

Not knowing your friend but was the fear of being alone with a young child a powerful motivator?

I do find it amazing that she would trust a man who would do that.

Trinket mentioned SW calling CW a skater boy when they first met as an example of verbal abuse in a post in September. Cindy Watts ended up telling the same story about the skater boy comment in an interview in November.

Having skimmed the thread 2 things stand out.

1. The doll photo is evidence of premeditation. He fantasised about this for a long time IMO.

2. His abusive nature is now clear and it wasn't really a secret was it. This is why I also suspect her friend was so worried that Monday morning.

I know she is a victim too, and I know she should not be considered a guilty party, but I think she has tried to make herself look more clueless than she was, likely for sympathy. I have lost trust in her.

They really do. Cant remember the name of the disorder, but basically attracted to inmates because they have complete control - they always know where there "partner" is, and they wont cheat on them, etc.

Ever since MrsW got the phone call from CW that he wanted to speak to his Dad, he has not wanted to see her. She asked him if he wanted her to come too and he replied, WTTE “No, just send Dad”. He had the option of ringing her while he was in jail and never availed himself of that opportunity. Didn’t look at her during sentencing. Didn’t look at her as he left the courtroom. If ever he wanted to say anything, even if it was a lie, even if he really didn’t want to speak to her, he still could have turned to her and said, “Sorry, Mom” before he left Court.

I’d really like to know if he ever calls her from prison. They won’t be making visits from NC to CO unless he agrees to see them, and if he wants to see anyone, it will be his Dad. The message might get through after a while … or maybe not.

Yes that is true. And no doubt why she deleted messages (not to mention she brought her dad to the interview and that would be nothing short of awkward). But still, straight up lying to investigators in such a serious matter, not a good look.

I literally didn't sleep at all the night that info came out. I couldn't stop myself from picturing it every time I closed my eyes.

Poor Frankie Jr looks like he hasn't slept since August . Frank Sr looks broken.

But CW enjoyed his pizza. Nauseating.

I think he was probably being more blatant about his dalliance. Shanann wanted to work on their marriage. CW was over it. Maybe he thought he could push her to the point of throwing in the towel. This may explain something else that I couldn't believe... the NK said they spent time together something like 4-5 days a week! How does a married father of 2 pull that off?

It is so heartbreaking to me that the fact that she wanted them to work on their marriage was likely the catalyst for their deaths.
(NOT victim blaming... I am speaking more to his state of mind. She wouldn't just give it up - he had no choice!)

I am wondering if in Colorado one partner can file for divorce on their own without the cooperation of the other partner? If that is indeed possible, CW could have walked out on his family and filed for divorce. Obviously he would have had to pay child support so the motive may be partly financial, and partly to save face - it does not look good to walk out on your pregnant wife. Little did he know he would be caught so quickly and look 100 times worse by annihilating his family.
