Yeah - probably both things.

He could now agree to the trip etc because he knew it would never happen.

Oh, he probably thought it could still happen-he'd just take the other woman. Problem solved. Wouldn't even have to lose his hotel deposit. I think he honestly thought that he could dispose of his family on Sunday and take his mistress to Aspen on Saturday. Boy, he was sure in for a surprise when the drones started flying and the FBI came a calling.

I really respect the way that SW's friends kept quiet about all their information. They knew it could damage the case if they spoke. And between the lot of them, they had a LOT of info.
Yes, and one thing stud McWatt did not take into account with his murderous plan. Shan’anns wonderful network of friends and family who loved and supported her, they would never believe his ludicrous story that she would up and off with the children. How the hell was he going to explain that to “her people”?

Unlike speculations that people made in the past, doesn't sound to me like SW was refusing to separate or divorce him. Sounds to me like she was (rightfully) upset, blindsided, willing to work on their issues, or willing to walk away if that's what it came down to.[/QUOTE
Agree, she didnt hair time to really process what was happening.

Hello, longtime lurker, returning to discuss this case: Does anyone know why the investigators released so much info? There is a lot of private info and some things (handwritten notes/lists, maybe?) could have been left out.

Sure one of the lawyers here will correct me if I am wrong, but
I believe the handwritten notes provided by people who were part of the investigation conducting interviews are there because all these documents [including the notes] are part of the 'discovery' documents that would have been provided to the defense if the case had gone to trial. LE throughout the whole inquiry period are conscious they are creating a 'record' that needs to stand up to scrutiny by 'the other side'.

The defense would have pored over these docs to check for errors/mistakenly transcribed notes, notes that had been omitted from the typed up documents etc., or anything that appeared to be added to the typed up version that did not appear on the written notes. This list is not exhaustive or exclusive.

Are you freaking kidding? Was this after they were killed?

Oops. Having site issues. Keep getting kicked out. This was in response to NK searching Amber Frey book deals....

It’s actually 23 hours in most prisons (US) that have protective custody, but your point still applies.

Lights out like Whitey Bulger.

I thought it was 23 hours for those on death row?

Yeah. I’m surprised he didn’t Google “How to act like a human.”

I actually thought there might be some searches beforehand that proved unequivocally, that he had a specific plan in place.

Damning nonetheless however.
So creepy he sat in the interview room watching videos of his daughters playing knowing full well where they were and what he'd done.

He thought that's what a distraught parent would do if they were frantic with worry. He thought he was behaving like a loving father, but the rest of us know it was CREEPY and MANIPULATIVE.

CW wouldn’t have missed a beat initially. Master plan at work in his mind.
(Flashback, my folks owned a wedding reception venue in the 90’s. Miss A made a booking to marry Mr B 12 months in advance. Yes the reception went ahead on said date but Miss A had married Mr C. We couldn’t believe it.)

I just looked it up, it apparently varies by state and prison. Some do 22, others 23.

Did anyone get to the Trent Bolte portion of the discovery document.

Specifically, what was the conclusion as to his veracity?

I remain as confused as ever. His mother was of no real help in her interview and the other guy they interviewed seemed to be saying that TB made a lot of stuff up. None of that seemed to go anywhere.

Not yet, still reading the after polygraph interview. I see where CW's came up with the idea for SW's harming the kids - he was asked that exact question.

Everytime I think he can't out-dumb himself- he does!

Yes, it feels like the cops gave him the idea to blame her and he totally ran with it. I know the cops were focused on getting the ball rolling but giving him that idea has resulted in a terrible desecration of her character. At least it’s clear that it wasn’t Ronnie Watts idea. Interesting also that he originally said smothered to his dad, and then changed it to strangled.

Also, it’s clear now he never said he saw Bella blue on the monitor. He said: he saw SW choking Celeste. So he ran in and could see CeCe was blue, and he strangled Shanann and then dragged her back to bed. And then he saw Bella sprawled out on the monitor and it was clear she was also dead.

So he never said he saw their colour via the monitor, at least not in his initial confession.

Not that it matters, just that we spent basically weeks discussing that point.

Very concerned that people with think less of him while he discusses location of the bodies :(

Gross. Seeming like they may have been a match made in heaven if he didn't get arrested.

NK was looking up Amber Frey? Strange connection to make MOO

Yes, they knew exactly the type of person they were dealing with, set the trap and he waltzed right in.

He should have stuck with smothered. Wonder why he changed it?

Just unbelievable how warped a mind can be but spend years appearing somewhat normal.

It was so upsetting to read Shan'ann questioning if she had done something to cause CW's behavior toward her. No, Shan'ann, none of it was your fault.

I had to get this out.
Yes, and he gives the typical, "Its not you, its me," explanation.
