In one of the reports they talk about inventory found in his work truck — there were childrens clothes, shoes and at least one stuffie. I don’t think they mentioned a blanket but I know he claimed he left the blankets and stuffies together. Wonder what he was doing w/the clothes and shoes?

A certain amount of gas is released, in addition to the pressure of the tissue, and "things" can move around the fabric. My uterus ruptured and prolapsed when I was 31. There was no containing it. It's as horrific as it sounds.

What CW actually said on his phone call to the school (discovery page 663), slightly snipped by me:

On 08/15/18 I, Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Agent MATTHEW SAILOR, responded to Primrose School of Erie at Vista Ridge located at 2998 Ridge View Drive in Erie, Colorado to conduct follow up. Primrose is the school of BELLA WATTS and CELESTE WATTS, who did not show up for the first day of school on 08/13/18. It was reported that their father, CHRIS WATTS, called the school to advise they would not be attending.

Upon arrival at approximately 1220 hours, I met with the owner, CHRIS LANG, and spoke with him in his office. LANG said that both BELLA and CELESTE had attended the school last year, and that their mother, SHANANN WATTS, had pulled them out for the summer because she was taking them to North Carolina for an extended trip. LANG said that both girls were scheduled to start at the school again when the new year started on 08/13/18. LANG said that between 0800 hours and 0815 hours SHANNON MEYER received a phone call from the girls’ father, CHRIS WATTS, stating they would not be attending the school. LANG said that CHRIS then asked MEYER if the girls were at the school. LANG said that MEYER was “freaked out” by the phone call and later reported it to police.

I then spoke with MEYER by phone (speakerphone in the office). MEYER said that CHRIS called at about 0815 hours on 08/13/18, and said that after he introduced himself she told him that they were expecting to see the girls starting at the school and he replied that he was calling to let them know that the girls weren’t going to start. He said he wasn’t really sure what was going on yet, but that they were going to be moving and putting the house up for sale, and they were not sure if they were going to stay in this area. MEYER responded with, “That’s pretty crazy.” MEYER said that CHRIS then asked, “The girls aren’t there, are they?” MEYER said she told CHRIS no, she hadn’t seen them, but to let her check and see if they were clocked in, and they were not clocked in. CHRIS said ok, and to put them down as not coming in, and MEYER asked if he wanted to be placed on a waiting list in case something changes. CHRIS replied that they might as well, but they weren’t sure what was going on. MEYER told him to keep them updated, and that the teachers would be sad to not see the girls today. CHRIS thanked her and then hung up.

I'm with Ronnie on this one, unfortunately, as it turns out, it would be heartbreaking for him to witness his son's unspeakable actions!

Also interesting is in CW’s interview w/Grahm, he said the phone was just sitting on the top of the couch, but in Nick Atkinson’s statement he said he found it under pillows and even drew a diagram that’s included. I was surprised to see that’s where they foumd the apple watch too. Not sure where the stairs are in the house but the phone and watch were found near the end of the couch. I know CW was the first one upstairs. If that end of the couch was closest to the stairs it makes me wonder if he shoved them there quickly whwn he got home.

1705 hours: CW's text to the coworker about going directly to the site the next morning alone.
1946 hours: Shanann asked "Hey honey, kids in bed" and asked for pictures. Watts replied "Bella just back in bed." Shanann noted, "They must be exhausted."

Watts resent the images from earlier in the day (at the dinner table). He also added an image of Bella taken at the birthday party earlier that day.

What do we think about the fact that SW asked for pictures and CW re-sent pictures from earlier in the day instead of sending any current pictures of the girls sleeping? Had he already killed the girls? Especially given the text to the coworker insisting he could go to that oil site alone first thing?

Naturally I can’t know, but I have always felt he killed the girls before Shan'ann got home.

CW's uses the same canned responses over and over to describe his kids (they're my whole world. I just want them to give me a bear hug.) But he actually makes several negative comments about them over the course of this. Calls them "bossy", says they scream a lot, and more.

It paints a disturbing picture of how he really felt about them.

It's interesting though how he describes Bella as a mama's girl and CeCe as a daddy's girl (pdf 582).
In the porch interviews, he described Bella as like himself and CeCe like Shanann, so he's got this 'opposite attracts' thing going on. He mentioned this term in one of his conversations with Shanann but it wasn't in reference to her, iirc.

CW "found" the phone rather quickly. I am thinking he hid it there before killing SW so she couldn't call for help I'd she got away from him.

ick Atkinson actually is the one who found the phone according to his statement.

This is out of Frank Rzucek's interview. Clearly Cindy Watts admitted to Shanann's mother that the nuts thing had happened. I feel really quite cross about this as obviously someone (probably our favourite VI) lied to @Tricia to get the conversation completely shut down (and was successful in doing so):

RZUCEK said that one time when SHANANN took the girls over to CHRIS’ parents’ house, possibly during the 2nd week of her vacation, SHANANN called him and said to get her away from CHRIS’ parents. RZUCEK said that there were nuts all over the house, and some kids were eating ice cream with nuts. SHANANN and CHRIS’ mother had words, and the mother told her it was a 'training lesson'. - Discovery Page 678

I know the TOS exists to protect members and VI's and I will abide by that, but IMO, this VI doesn't deserve that courtesy.

Additional comments from Meyer on what she made of the phone call:

I asked MEYER about CHRIS’ demeanor when he called and she said he seemed normal, but she was surprised that the girls weren’t coming back. MEYER said she suspected that they weren’t really moving, and that was just an excuse. MEYER said it was strange, because they had just spoken with SHANANN recently and everyone was excited about the girls coming back to the school. MEYER said it was strange to suddenly get a call from CHRIS stating the girls weren’t coming back. MEYER said she didn’t notice anything strange in CHRIS’ demeanor, but thought that it was strange that he asked if the girls were there. I asked MEYER if CHRIS was the one who typically called the school and dealt with school issues and she said no, SHANANN did the majority of the pickups and drop offs. MEYER said that CHRIS did come to the school, but SHANANN was the primary communicator. I asked MEYER who would normally call the school if the girls were sick or something similar and she replied that SHANANN normally would.

I'm a few pages behind the discussion....buried deep in the document dump after t-day dinner (we didn't have turkey, so I'm not sleepy, lol!). Just had to pop in the discussion to say how fascinating it is to read the documents and officer reports. I wish we had this info for all the cases.

I actually don't think it was wrong for Amber Frey to profit and I kind of enjoyed her book. Amber's experience with that whole mess was quite unusual and very interesting. Her story wasn't so much about Laci's death, but Amber's own peripheral part in the story. In that way, it was autobiographical. And while Amber may have benefited financially, I think she earned it. She, too, was a victim of Scott Peterson and her life was never the same.

NK, on the other hand...She'll do what she wants to do regardless of what anyone thinks. And if she writes a book, or hires someone to write it, there will be those who will want to read it. There always are.

But now that she has proven herself a liar, why would it benefit us to read it? Or at least that is how I look at it.,

I reckon she went to sleep on the couch in the loft. Took the watch off but didn't charge it (maybe charger in suitcase or something). Frank Rzucek said it was not uncommon for her to sleep on the loft couch at times (Discovery Page 682)
