You’re absolutely right. CW did this and however toxic his relationship with his mother is, that isn’t an excuse. But many family annihilators have toxic, unhealthy, or generally strange relationships with their mothers, so it is a point of interest.

He may have had other 401Ks through other jobs, but there's no guarantee he rolled them over rather than cashing in when he left.

Not all employers offer 401Ks. If they do, each company one works for is a separate 401K. So for instance, if I have had 3 jobs, I may have 3 different 401ks. Each one is separate and when I change jobs the previous employer stops paying in and if the new company offers one I have one again.

I can roll the old ones into the new one, but only myself and the new employer pays in. But not all employers offer 401ks and often employees cash out as they are between jobs and need the money. Does that make sense?

I see. Very different where I live. Employer payments (9%) are compulsory for all employees and they cannot be cashed in. They must be rolled over if you are changing to a different industry, but if in the same industry nothing changes.

I remember (I hope) reading pretty far back in the threads (when I thought I might be able to keep up haha) that CW had suggested the name "Nico" and didn't say a middle name. I started wondering right then if there was a Nicole (other than the friend of SW who called LE). Then I noticed CW's middle name, and there is not a person walking on this earth who could convince me that this wasn't a piece of snark directed at poor SW, flaunting his new lady-love.

You have valid issues. But my training tells me to look past things, to see things that can't be seen. I know my investigation experience is inferior to yours, but I will refrain until more facts come in. This is speculation on my part.
