Shanann Watts family files wrongful death suit against Chris Watts

The court filing reportedly notes Watts’s deceptions to investigators and his false claims to the media that he had no idea what happened to his wife and children.

“Defendant also gave multiple interviews to television and media outlets where he falsely claimed that he missed his family and was hoping they would all come home, so as to end his supposed ‘nightmare’ of life without his children,” the lawsuit states, according to the Coloradoan.

The report notes that according to Colorado law, wrongful death cases can be heard by a judge or a jury. A preliminary hearing is set for January 28.

I would assume he might outlive his parents. I don't believe his sister would want the expense of burying him, JMO. I believe the prison system might provide a grave plot for "unclaimed" deceased prisoners? I wonder.

Up thread someone posted video about the level 5 Prison where they had a place outside called woodpecker Hill where they buried people that did not have family that wanted their bodies.

I don't think he has money or assets. Future book earnings maybe? There's a reason they're prolonging things. I wish them success.

I don't know of any other way than scrolling. Hopefully someone else might know because I don't use an iPad.

Does anyone know, are the Watt's originally from N.C.? The mother definitely contributed to what happened, putting Chris up against Shanann. She definitely has something wrong with her. Low self-esteem?

I listened to the podcast PommyMommy provided the link to earlier. Tricia definitely thinks if someone examines this case and writes a book that Cindy and her upbringing will be the starting point, finding out why she is like she is the key.

I've been expecting the suit but haven't looked at the filing yet. There's a hearing scheduled for late January.

At this time, I'd expect the Rzucek family to file two lawsuits: the first -- a wrongful death action -- as individuals, and the second -- a survival action -- as the administrator of Shanann Watt's estate. MOO

The discovery pg #is 2088. If that helps. I’m on my iPhone. I basically just kept scrolling up not waiting for pages to load. It is near the end. (Or bottom. Literally and figuratively.)

I actually get along well with my ex-MIL now but for a long time during my marriage, I experienced a lot of similarities with SW and CW’s family. I think that’s another reason this case has sucked me in like it has. I understand being in that position where you just can’t do anything right by people who your spouse looks up to. There were so many things said and done along the way that created so many issues between my ex and I and I also felt very misunderstood by them. It makes my heart hurt for SW.
