Shanann’s mother is an incredible inspiration, this brings tears to my eyes and humbles me - what a lesson in that we choose how to react, we choose what we put into the world. Kindness is a choice.
She commented on the video of MeMe -Cindy - arriving at the airport and Cindy is very happy, hugging and kissing the girls. Sandi’s comment was simply “How Beautiful” - that comment was made 6 days ago.

SW’s family has really been inspiring. They’ve handled a nightmare of a situation with so much grace.

I don't think he has money or assets. Future book earnings maybe? There's a reason they're prolonging things. I wish them success.

I hope NK does not profit with a book deal. While I understand HE is fully responsible, and people have affairs, I also do not believe she should profit from this beautiful family’s death. Is there a way for the family to stop her? Not saying she is going to do that.

Has someone put together a list indicating the murders were premeditated? I think there are quite a number of explicit, specific things that CW did that show this

Interesting, though I still believe the family concocted that ridiculous letter. I think they added the part about possible self-harm because they have been busy painting a false picture of Shan'ann as the unstable and violent one; it's a misdirect to suggest it could have gone either way, and if he hadn't killed her (for killing the kids, in his fiction) she might have killed him. I think it was a desperate and fraudulent ploy by Mother & Sister Watts trying to save their cold-hearted boy, when they hoped he would go to trial and "fight, fight to the end" (with lies). IMO MOO.
I haven't made a list, but just off the top of my head, these are some of the things that point toward premeditation, with number 8 being the most damning. MOO
  1. The letter that states to look at Shanann if anything happened.
  2. While in NC, CW told NK his divorce was final.
  3. CW told Shanann not to reveal the baby’s gender.
  4. CW used the credit card on August 11 at the Lazy Dog with NK.
  5. CW told NK that he wouldn’t be in the office Monday morning.
  6. CW told his co-worker that he was going directly to CERVI 319 Monday morning and assured him that he didn’t need help.
  7. CW was suddenly no longer interested in finding an apartment the weekend of the murders.
  8. No panic. No grief. CW’s co-workers said CW acted normal.

I don't think a lawyer was involved at that time. Her FBI interview was 8/15 and CBI interviewed her 8/16 at the Thornton Police Department where her father joined her. MOO

Are you sure about 8/15?

This would place her first interview on Wednesday, just like she claimed.

I started reading the docs yesterday, and am up to page 534, where CW is being interviewed post polygraph.
I'm at least 3 full threads behind here, so apologies for what has surely been discussed, but I'm blown away to be 'watching' CBI plant the seeds of CWs initial confession. WOW.

'Did Shanann do something to the girls?'
'Did Shanann do something to them and then did you feel like you had to do something to Shanann?'
'I asked Chris if something happened to his baby girls and he felt like he needed to take something into his own hands to deal with it.'

So crazy to read this.

Also - newsflash! He's an idiot.

If they hadn't been well onto him before -

'SA CODER asked Chris what we were doing wrong and he said we weren't doing anything wrong'
Unreal!

What did NK lie about?

See below posts for some examples of her lies.

Wow. Yup, another inconsistency.

About him going to North Carolina in July:

“Nichol thought she had convinced him to work on his relationship with Shanann and she figured she was going to get out of this relationship with him.”

Page 570

She is saying that she thought they would work things out, and her and CW would end their affair.

According to her statement to the Denver Post, he told her that the divorce was finalized.

It must have been one of those magical one week divorces that are settled out of state.

She said she called LE to tell them that she was seeing CW when in fact, Anadarko had already found evidence (emails) and notified LE.

The Denver Post article says they met in mid-June. In her CBI interview, she said they met in May or early June. The phone data records show that she searched the name "Shan'ann Watts" in Jan 2017.

She said they had just met and that she barely knew him, yet she was shopping for a wedding dress.

About the wedding dress, I think that she was just fantasising about the big themed wedding that every bride seems to want these days.

Could be. It's contradictory to her statement that she wanted to take it slow, though. MOO

NK and CW had that in common: they both thought we'd believe their lies. NK wanted us to believe that she was promoting that CW work on his marriage while vacationing in NC but she couldn't stop herself from bombarding CW with nude selfies all the time he was in NC! Pffft

In her interviews, she never appears to tell LE that he told her his divorce was finalised. It was only ever that he was going through a separation. Even when he went to NC for a week, she said it was so he could work on his marriage. He reportedly told her after that week that Shanann was adamant she did not want to make it work.

Seems like the "divorced finalised" bit only came out for the media interviews. MOO

Of course NK was played by CW, but the real victims here are dead. Also, I'm not on FB, but I can still see SW unlocked or open FB videos but that's not what we're talking about. What's true is that NK conducted searches for CW and SW as far back as 8/31/17. It's no typo. Proof of this is in the discovery documents that NK deleted these searches from her history which were recovered by investigators. LE analyzed NK's phone under a search warrant using Axiom and Cellebrite analysis tools...It's all all in the document dump. Again, Denver Post is a public relations piece that mostly contradicts the evidence. It doesn't follow that you want support to confirm the newspaper report. There's no scarlet letter, but it's NK that's being untruthful. MOO

Also she was inconsistent in her interview statements. At first she said she had only been to CW's house once and "only for 15 minutes" Discovery page 380:

upload_2018-11-27_10-57-46.png

But later she said she had been to his house twice.
Discovery page 569:
upload_2018-11-27_11-24-12.png
She tried to make it sound like she had barely been to his house and it was "brief"
but note that she also says he cooked her lunch and set up apps on his phone. That sounds like a longer visit than 15 minutes to me. Also on page 570 she says she saw his workout equipment and bed in the basement while at his house:
upload_2018-11-27_11-37-58.png

This wasn't a quick bite to eat and then out the door IMO. They hung out there and probably had sex there. She tried to make it seem like she was telling him he should work on his marriage but her text messages tell a different story. She wasn't breaking up with him or telling him he needed to stop calling her until he was divorced. She says on page 570 that they talked on the phone "all the time".

She claimed to have met him in May or June and that she did not know Shanann's name for a while (Discovery page 568), but her phone shows she searched for CW and SW in Sept 2017 and Jan 2018 (I think those have previously been linked here so I'm not going to try to find them again)
upload_2018-11-27_11-19-0.png

I don't think she had previous knowledge of the murders and I don't think she was necessarily malicious in her lies to the police and her lies to the public (the majority of what she said in the Denver post article was false). But she did lie quite a bit and tried to paint herself in a good light. I don't buy for a minute that she told Chris to "work on his marriage" while simultaneously having sex with him 4-5 nights a week. She said that because she knew it looked bad on her to have the affair. She told CW to pawn SW's ring when SW was missing-- does that sound like someone who hoped her lover would work on his marriage and told him to do that just a week or two before? Or does it sound more like a mistress who was gleefully thinking she had "won" the man in the end? She lied and she tried to minimize her involvement with CW and minimize how much she knew about CW's marriage. She tried to make herself sound naive. But later she would google search how much Amber Frey's book deal was. I don't believe she is naive- 0ther than perhaps thinking she could delete her texts and that police wouldn't find them-- she Google searched that too.

MOO.

Thank you for tying all that together for us. Great post and I'm saving it! :p

Yes! Thank you.

Was that the day she called in sick? I can't remember if it was Tues or Wed... MOO
And didn't she also have a "houseguest" that Monday nite, "Jim---"? Perhaps CW called 5 times but she never answered? Busy or asleep? Sorry, after a few days I've finally arrived at an active thread here. Between trying to catch up, read the discovery docs and working i am terribly behind and I apologize if I be misstated or repeated anything. Most of the discovery revelations I have gotten here. Can't read it all and try to keep up.

AMEN. I will never forget, "What happened to Chris? Shanann happened to Chris!" Who says that about their dead daughter in law??
Christopher Watts girlfriend Nichol Kessinger speaks about Frederick murders

“When Watts went to visit family in North Carolina at the end of July, he called to tell her that his divorce was final, Kessinger said.”

I don't believe her about this call. She doesn't seem to have said it to LE. It feels like she was saving face in public...pretending she thought he was more separated from his wife than he was.

Yes. Pg 330 (Discovery pg 377)

Thanks. I had thought it was on the Thursday.

In any case, i still think it is unclear whether she contacted LE before they contacted her.

I think people are still not factoring in that NK had just discovered her sex friend was likely a murderer and all those nudes she sent him were now in the hands of law enforcement. Apart from being scared and humiliated, I think it is not surprising she made some attempts to salvage her image

Is it misleading? Sure

But she did nothing to deserve any of this and personally I have no problem with her doing some crisis PR

The key point is she did not materially mislead the investigation and she would have been their most crucial witness.
