The investigator said she found the words " secret calculator" and was curious and ultimately discovered what it was. But there was also a letter that was one of the tips called in about someone hearing another person ( at his job, I think) talking about an App with a similar name where you can keep stuff hidden. It had the word calculator but the other word was different than " secret." That's all I remember, maybe someone else knows specifically what it said but any way it was included as a tip. Imo

The net has a multitude of good resources on NPD (Narcissist Personality Disorder) and relationships; familial and romantic.

There are "warning signs" to watch for, as listed in the referenced Quora comments. And, if you look at the personalities and love map of some recent and notorious killers (Drew Peterson, Scott Peterson, Chris Watts...) you'll see commonalities; love bombing, devaluing and discard. In addition, their belief that they can do no wrong, they are above laws/morals/values, they are to be believed even when their lies make no sense.

"Narcissist" has become the relationship label du jour and is often overused, and without real understanding of the affliction. That being said, I think our current society encourages the development of harmful narcissists, partly due to upbringing (or lack of) and partly due to social media.

The diagnosis of NPD (and, I am NOT a professional, just an interested party due to my immediate family, and my history of relationships) is a serious one that has to be left to the pros familiar with it.

BUT, having seen too many women, men, children, co-workers, churches, etc. suffer at the whim of the narc, I deeply believe that we MUST teach the warning signs, and help young people love themselves enough that they don't overlook, and/or, put up with abuse from these types.

Bottom line is, narcissists love co-dependents. Don't be co-dependent. Knowledge is key.

I wonder if all our growing group of mass shooters and family annihilators shows a combo of narcissistic and odd-eccentric traits.

I read an article the other day where they believe your brain doesn't immediately switch off when your heart stops so I really hope when you lose consciousness it does actually switch off. I hate to think that she would have been laying there knowing he did that.. Really upsets me thinking about all of their last moments

I am completely unqualified, but read a lot about this because of an unfortunate predicament with my own sociopath.

As I am not a psychologist, I did not find it that helpful to categorise my own mild sociopath exactly. Rather to recognise the kinds of behaviours.

IMO CW doesn't show the typical signs of NPD. Indeed the complete opposite. People describe him as quiet, withdrawn etc.

He is also not your typical abusive personality yet it is clear he was abusive IMO - just very carefully hidden.

I think what is very revealing is the impulsive risk taking, without rational assessment of consequences.

Also his lack of awareness as to his own behaviour, and belief that people would be taken in by his nonsense.

So overall I'd guess he is closer to the APD zone - but he is someone that concealed his nature for a long time.

I do guarantee you there is strange crap in his childhood or teenage years - but likely hidden or never discovered.

That's what one of the guests on one of the podcasts believed. She said he likely had some animal abuse type stuff or other things that were covered up. I don't know.

Initially I thought “no way.” Reading the discovery, I’m “on the fence.” I wouldn’t be surprised either way.

Hopefully these supposed text messages are in the data release. CW has a particular way of communicating, and those screenshots may provide an indication as to if he wrote them.

That's the saddest part of this case for me, even sadder than the kids, which says a lot because they were KIDS. But having seen how hard SW worked to try to salvage her marriage, just knowing that those thoughts had to be going through her head while she was dying, about how much he was betraying her and murdering her unborn baby. I'd like to think the kids, even Bella having fought back, possibly didn't really comprehend the who or what. Maybe that's not true. But I just know SW knew...and knowing how heartbroken she already was, it just stings even more.

I found it interesting that the tip below was called in regarding a different affair with relation to Anadarko and the secret calculator app was used.

He may have been ready for a change, and his body was simply part of it.

Yikes! I never realized it was so hard to read all bold letters! Any way I think it said there were 12 thousand images. I am very curious to know what else is in there. I wonder if it will be released. I do remember that in between texting Shanann and others, and while he was in NC, he was very busy transferring the images. I wonder if that's what he was doing in the picture of him at the carnival of him right behind Shanann looking down at something.
