NK is a hot mess. She & CW are a match made in hell? Purgatory? She definitely met her match in him. Had CW managed to successfully cover up the murders of Shannan, Nico, Bella, and Celeste, I believe once the shiny newness had been worn off NK she would be dead, too
More than likely but I'd say with certainty if she called off the relationship for some reason...she would have been in a very vulnerable, dangerous position. IMO

This is for gitana 1, I need a lawyers expertise, if you have time please answer a question.

Is the DA's office allowed to remove certain facts in the discovery documents
before being released to the public?
Thank You,
Book-thinker

Well I think they can redact if there's a good reason to. But CO seems to have some pretty strong freedom of information laws. So if there are requests for this info they'd have to probably fight to keep it back.

It's not my state of practice but that's what it seems to me so far from research.

Ironicallly, had this gone to trial, we wouldn't probably see release of all this info because the media would've been saturated with material from the trial itself and a lot of that stuff wouldn't be relevant. Like googling anal sex, for example. Or her convos with a friend about CW.

I agree.

None of you have ever been so overwhelmed with shock, horror, emotion, confusion, fear, and disgust that your mind went blank? Never had a brain freeze? Momentary loss of memory? Lucky you!
I remember finding something horrifying about someone and it was like a scene from a scary movie, only in slow motion. It felt like I was watching myself discover it, and I remember every detail about how it slowly dawned on me. Yet I remember nothing else of that day. It was just a blur.

I'm wondering if CW love bombed Shanann to the same extent as NK when he 1st met her? Shanann did say he pursued her even though she tried to push him away.

Those two investigators that got the confession, they are good at their job! I don't think I want them questioning me if I ever commit a crime. They were able to pretend to care about him, and stroke his ego, and without yelling at him, cursing him, intimidating, etc, they got him talking!

I hear you.

The techniques the investigators use, you are a good father, you pack their bags, holding this in makes you sick, you want to take care of your family, so interesting.

This is called “Love of Family” and “pride and Ego Up”

I didn't hear any of those things when I listened to the interview myself.

Did I hear correctly that CW tried to say the size of the oil tank holes were the size of two plates?

As if he didn't have to force his babies in, scraping their bodies on the way down?

I’ll speak for myself here.

When you are talking about the annihilation of an entire family, the murder of a mother and her children, everything is going to be put under a microscope.

When you are a likely motive for this crime, a witness with incredibly valuable evidence, you had better be completely forthcoming.

The stakes are too high, the cost too great, for anything other than complete cooperation.

It is understandable to want to protect oneself, and downplay your actions. I empathize with her, and the position that she is in.

But I do not condone lying. I do not condone the deletion of evidence. I do not condone anything that is other than complete transparency.

Bella, Cece, and Shanann deserve justice. This woman by only being “mostly forthcoming,” didn’t go the distance.

That is where the criticism lies.

I think it is fair.

He truly did show more emotion and tears at his coworkers finding this out than anything about his family. It really was more startling to hear than to read the words. THAT'S what finally got a real emotional, genuine reaction from him? I know I have read that on this board, but whoa, actually hearing it.

At one point Ronnie just says " Good God Almighty, son".
What else could you say?

Yeah I almost felt bad for him...

Still listening to the NK interview. Abt 1:47 in, how does NK NOT remember what she did on Sunday? That was only 4 days ago NK! o_O She recalled lots of other times from longer ago and recalled Saturday night in detail.

Nichol Kessinger Aug. 16 interview with investigators

ETA: She eventually remembers that CW took the kids to a water balloon fight at a birthday party and she went to a museum and then she either "chilled" at her house or cleaned her house...But it was like pulling teeth to get her day description. She can't remember what she did in the afternoon for sure-- she didn't see him. Saturday was the last day she saw him. Monday they "didn't talk much" and she clocked out of work at 3 PM.
I think she 'recalled' some more later in the interview but that portion was not included in the audio format. (it sort of ended abruptly)

The same interview in written format (Discovery page 572, 573):

"We discussed a phone call between Nichol and Chris between 9 pm and 11 pm on Sunday night. She was not certain what they talked about during this call. She recalled hearing a television on during the call. She said there was not a television in the basement so she did not know where he was and why he was watching television when it was so late. She said this is odd behavior for him. She recalled thinking Chris may have been waiting up for Shanann to get home.
During this call, he told Nichol he had to go to the field, not the office, on Monday morning. He said he had to go check on a valve where there was a "release". He said he would not see her in the morning. She said this is not uncommon, but typically, he goes to the office . She said usually 3 to 4 days a week he goes to the office."

I’m just the type of person who needs facts before I accuse.
There are numerous facts as detailed repeatedly in this thread. I don't think posters are "accusing" anyone - simply noting where factual information is at odds with NK's interview content.

Where did Celeste's measurement come from? And, all reports I've seen have said the tanks were nearly full or almost full. Please provide a link. TIA MOO
I’m 7 pages behind. Do you already have the links? If not, I’ll find them. Within the first responders & autopsy pages

This woman, NK, is a piece of work. She is trying to lead the interview. She is trying to act like she is some kind of heroine but she is very arrogant. I imagine the FBI agent needed a few beers after this one!

Excellent points. I would go one step further myself, perhaps I am too judgmental. But I did not hear any true empathy, devastation, nor concern for SW nor the girls from the one interview I listened to completely. I expected too much I guess. I really thought I would hear it.

I agree. I have specific criticisms that are derived from the case facts.

Coupled with that train wreck of an interview though, I am deeply disturbed.
