The dog showed interest in an unmade bed in the basement and an area 'just below the stairs'.
Have we thought about whether Chris might have killed at least one of the girls in the basement instead of her bed upstairs?

Anybody watch the 6th polygraph video?

Close to the end he is watching videos of the girls on his phone while he is alone in the room. How can he just act normal like he cares about the girls after he just killed them? I just don’t understand it.

I do wonder if the did that on purpose since he knew they were watching and it was what he was supposed to do.
I thought that was so weird. Hearing the little squeaky voices of his kids and their laughter. No response. He tried to tell them it didn't mean anything that he wasn't crying, yet he made the mistake of telling them he was balling his eyes out when they were discussing separation. Ok. So the thought of separating from his wife upset him, but the thought of his wife and kids being harmed or even killed did not phase him?

I hope that NUA telling him that she had called the police caused that!
Exactly. Nua had him almost crapping in his pants very early on.

So I'm not surprised he had to use the bathroom during that time.

My stomach turns everytime I lie to my wife about not eating the last cookie.

So imagine having to explain your families disappearance to her nosy friend just hours after you dumped their bodies.

I noticed CW was wearing a dark/black long sleeved shirt in the neighbor's cam on the morning he disposed of his family's bodies. Later in the day, he arrives home wearing a light grey long sleeved shirt. Wonder why he changed clothes?

ETA: Best part of this video is right at the end. Chris in handcuffs!

I noticed this, too, but wondered if the dark shirt was just an overshirt or uniform. I saw a glimpse of the “whoops, we didi it again Nico reveal SW posted where she shows Inmate Watts (thanks, PommyMommy, that just rolls off my keyboard!) on the HLN feature where a crime reporter and psychologist analyze videos of him and he is wearing a similar, if not same shirt. (My iPad does not screenshot off of my Sling app or I would share one in this post.)

I felt the same about seeing him cuffed and starting out his perp walk. One of the very best vid clips in the discovery!

Also, notice he has his garage door opener in his hand. Is it normal for him to carry it in and out with him? Or was it his way of controlling access so he could enter first?

Found the video on YouTube. Now I see it is a slightly different shirt. I am guessing he just wore light-colored long sleeve shirts to work under his regular work clothes. JMO.

I don't think he would have taken her or any of them down there to kill them. I think he killed them in their beds and then put them in the basement. Especially if he killed them earlier. I don't think he waited until 4:00. I think he killed Shanann soon after she fell asleep. Then he moved the bodies so he wouldn't have the discomfort of having to look at them. Imo

That would have been way too soon for me. I wonder if he gets to read all the things in the news about him. I hope he knows about the Discovery Document. Maybe he will be allowed to read it himself.
Can’t believe someone won’t tell him. He’ll find out, if he doesn’t know already.

In one of the discovery pages a coworker said he was dressed in really old raggedy clothes and his old boots the day he hid the bodies. Said it was out of character. He asked inmate watts if he was slumming that day. Made me wonder if he planned on throwing those clothes out?

Can anyone explain to me how he smothered the children? I always asssumed he used a pillow but that seems to have been ruled out by autopsy showing no fibers. If he used his hands, wouldn’t his hands have bite marks especially from the child who struggled? This is bad enough without him actually using bare hands. I can’t even
This is so sad to type out. Could he have held their faces down into their beds? Most babies sleep on their stomachs. Based on Bella's injuries, it seems like he was shoving her face downward but maybe I misunderstood.

Why was the bean bag taken into evidence? I've seen people speculate he placed the bean bag on their head and sat on it. I can't figure out if that would even be efficient but the evidence is very puzzling.

I thought the fitted sheet came from the bed in the master bedroom. Maybe he wrapped her in it right away and then carried her to the basement. I doubt he would have wanted the bodies anywhere near him until he had to load them up. Imo
The sheet situation is really really confusing. After reading the Discovery document, I'm no longer sure if the sheet that was found in oil field is the one from the master bedroom.

For example on discovery page 51 : Officer Coonrod - The master bed had the comforter, sheets and pillow removed. The fitted sheet was next to the comforter on the floor and the pillow were on the other side of the bed on the floor. I did not observe the top sheet anywhere.

Also on discovery page 57: Officer James - The basement was unfinished and very well organized. There was a bed in the basement that had pillow and a blanket on it. The bed was not made. (so this means no sheets on bed)

Then later they found a top sheet and matching pillow cases under a kitchen trash can. And they matched a bed sheet (doesn't say top or fitted) found in the field. (affidavit)

It's hard to know which sheet CW used to wrap poor Shanann.

They have to have a judgement to prevent Chris from making any money off of these crimes. John Wayne Gasy sold his paintings from prison, you never know

Awhile back, I read about another case (I'm trying to remember which one) where a wrongful death was filed because they didn't want the inmate to have or to make any money that could be used for protection in prison. Such as bribing someone for protection by putting money in their commissary account to giving money to their family. They said they wanted him to serve his time with no perks. Makes sense.

I have to wonder, if this photo was of the very wildflowers where he buried his wife, could this have been a sign to NK the deed was done? Hard to prove I guess, but if I were LE, I would be asking her about it! And him!

I don't think she was in on the murder plan mostly because I think the DA would have charged her in a heartbeat. He really wanted justice for this family. If they had anything solid on her, I think she would be charged. However, that pic Chris sent to NK did give me pause.

Agree. He probably just hid her wedding ring or something down there and wanted to grab it before acting like he found it in the room upstairs.

Btw. NK acted like she never wanted to visit him in his home so she just supposedly stopped by to help him with a app or something.

But meanwhile. She knew the basement layout better than Dieter and all other family members and friends. Hmmmm

This guy was able to dump his kids bodies in tanks of oil and show no emotion after doing so.

I don’t think he would have been the least bit disturbed by looking at them. If he was, he could have just covered them up with their blankets.

He did say something in his confession about carrying SW’s body back to her bed after strangling her. So could be a little truth in that theory?

I think that they would have fibres in their airways if he held their heads down in their beds.

So was NK dating another man (JG) at the same tine she was dating Chris?

  • #218
Why would he have done that though?
Perhaps he brought the first girl in the basement so if there was any noise, it wouldn't arouse the other and then he would have to manage both girls awake.

Once one child was gone, it didn't matter if the other one made noise while struggling.

I think they were killed in their beds, but the dog alerting the basement does make it seem that something happened down there....so maybe it was one of the girls?

It doesn't follow that CW would carry SW two levels down, and minutes later back upstairs again to exit to the garage. MOO
I didn't realize it was 2 floors down. I thought it would just be one flight of stairs. I definitely don't think he brought her down minutes later. If he killed the girls earlier, I just thought the dogs may have alerted there because he brought them down there because it was close to the garage and he wouldn't want them anywhere around him. There must be some reason the cadaver dogs smelled something down there. Unless they were the search dogs. Then why would he have brought them down there while they were alive? I don't know. We will probably never know.

Why would he have done that though?
I was wondering if the dog hit in or near the basement ... maybe Chris and one of the girls were down there earlier in the evening Sunday, and he killed one of them down there so that the other girl wouldn’t hear. Maybe that’s too far fetched.
