I don't think we got a transcript of that in the doc dump (?)
I don’t remember seeing a transcript of the RW interview, but with 1960 pages I could have missed it.

BBM. When watching the CBI interviews with CW did anyone notice how many times he said: I don't know. I was so scared. I didn't know what to do. This was in response to the investigators asking why he did a certain thing. It was many times. As if to say 'Oh poor me'. He just didn't know what to do even though he created a plan to kill his wife and children.

I have a feeling he has successfully used that line many times in the past when he messed up or did something a little unusual. The difference is that his past mistakes or lies were probably all minor ones. I can see it now--

Officer pulls CW over for speeding: Sir, do you know how fast you were going?
CW: I don't know.
Officer: You were 15 miles over the speed limit; What was your hurry and why didn't you pull over right away when I flashed my lights at you?
CW: I was so scared. I didn't know what to do.
Officer: Here's your ticket. Next time, slow down.

*CW drives home and gives ticket to his mom and gives family the same spiel as the officer about why he got a ticket (I don't know. I was so scared. I didn't know what to do.) And additionally CW blames the officer who pulled him over for not liking him for some reason.
*CW's mom thinks "My poor picked-on son" and pays the ticket.
*CW learns he doesn't have to deal with problems if he says the above lines.

*Above is an imaginary scenario for illustrative purposes only. I realize his mom said something about paying his ticket without him knowing about it but we don't really know how that went down. MOO.

So what do you think Chris had to clean up in the house, that it smelled so strong of chemicals when LE came in?

I think the pressure of Monday’s Gender Reveal and it’s inevitable posting onto FB was also a factor in the timing.

NK claimed that she didn’t know (?, although I think we know she DID know) and others would know that CW wasn’t ”truly” separated or taking concrete steps to divorce, sell the house, whatever other lies he had made up to please NK.

THAT was going to force issues with SW and with NK.

He had options, but they would take time and money:
1. Go to a counselor
2. Go to a lawyer
3. Confide in a friend and get their advice.
Instead of acting in a reponsible manner, which would involve money, possibly losing NK, or losing face with his co-worders, especially those who knew about the affair, and maybe his family, he looked for instant relief by coming up with this pathetically cruel act

I 100% agree. He was trying to put the genie back into the bottle to save the relationship with NK.

Also - why would he watch the video of himself leaving?

If innocent, he knew what happened then so he'd be interested in all the other videos

I noticed that too- he was giving himself away. His focus is always on himself, maybe that's why he wasn't able to anticipate that other people would care where his family went. It's easy to tell he's shocked in this video. When his neighbor can show Shanann never left the house, he should have known he was busted right then and there. I struggle to understand why, when the officer let him walk out of the door, he didn't try to go on the run with some plan of how to commit suicide if caught -I guess he was so used to tricking people with lies he really thought everyone would believe him eventually.

Yes NUA what a wonderful friend. And the neighbor. They didn't stay quiet. They both trusted their gut and spoke out. Lesson to all. Go with your instincts. As far as the covered doll goes I think it part of his enjoyment. He loved torturing poor Shanann. Evident by his coldness, constantly keeping her off balance as to what the problem was. Then just when she thinks there is hope he goes in for the kill. Literally. IMO the girls were killed before Shanann got home. Her plane was late. He was on a timeline. Why would he wait?? I wonder if we will even find out where the strong cleaning smell came from. What part of the house and what testing showed. All my opinion of course.

Am I the only one who can't understand a word of that?

I can't listen to it, I can't decipher what's being said. Oh for a transcript lol

If you're really bored, put on the CC and watch the bizarre translation. I did that for a couple of minutes. I guess I'll have to pass on Ronnie for now.

Wow! That neighbor picked up on him immediately. CW didn't even give it the old college try to look at the videos and try to see if any cars had driven by or footage of SW "leaving." All he did was ramble multiple times why he was loading up his truck. And look so, so guilty.

So strange how he stands there with his hands on his head. You can see how stressed he is. Maybe he was practicing his arrest stance

Has NK's lack of social media been discussed? I find it so odd that she has NOTHING. She's about the same age as me, and I really feel like it's rare to not have ANY form of social media, at least one account between Twitter, Insta, or FB. Even from years ago, you would think she had something. Especially if she's in the narcissistic cluster, right?

Bodies do not smell until they start to decompose or bodily fluids are leaking. Nurses deal with death just about every day and they don't carry a smell of death on them.
I would've thought that the bodies wouldn't be detectable so soon either, but apparently they can be detected by trained dogs within hours of death...

Here's a section from an article about it: The CSI death dogs: Sniffing out the truth behind the crime-scene

Several squares had been placed beneath a clothed corpse within three hours of death, when some organs and many cells of the human body are still functioning. Over the next month, the dogs did hundreds of trials in which they signalled the contaminated square with 98 per cent accuracy, falling to 94 per cent when the square had been in contact with the corpse for only two minutes.

Thanks for that. Very helpful. I lean toward second-degree for Shan'ann, followed by first degree for the girls. I think it would be out of character for someone like CW to plot the murder of his (presumably beloved) children in order to punish SW. I'm not sure why CW would be so angry with SW to punish her in that way. SW seemed earnest in her attempts to save the marriage, and there were no texts of threats or other potential motives for such an anger by CW toward her. Furthermore, it doesn't seem like CW thought through his crime at all. Anyway you slice it, all suspicion would fall on him almost immediately. While he is obviously no genius, I would think any forethought would have presented only one outcome: his getting busted. I suspect there may have been fantasies of eliminating his 'problem' with direct action, and then CW came home late and she said something to trigger a fit of anger in Chris. Maybe it was something that directly threatened his continued relationship with NK, which he wanted to preserve at all costs. Whatever it was, he choked her unconscious (doesn't take that long to do), then continued choking her until she was dead. Taking stock--and in a machine-like dissociated state--he made some even worse choices. Knowing SW would never leave her children (the 'disappearing wife' scenario), the only way he could make her disappearance seem even remotely plausible would be to have the girls disappear also, as though SW left with the girls. So he did the unthinkable.

But there is so much he didn't consider, such as leaving her cell phone & shoes behind (how dumb was that), or how and where he disposed of the bodies (obviously the cops would converge on well #319 after a single interview, or after interrogating GPS data from the truck). He didn't even give himself any time to dispose of the bodies properly: if he was thinking about the truck GPS giving away his movements, he had to know there would be risk of co-workers arriving at well 319 while he was up on a tank stuffing a body through that small hole. This murder was simply a no-way out scenario for him from the get-go. Even someone as stupid as Chris Watts must have been able to foresee these things if he had pre-planned the whole thing...!?

Dave

Somethings I think should be kept in mind;

1. The charges the DA brought against CW, all First Degree/premeditated.

2. The "posed doll photo", by CW, which was done BEFORE the murders! Very ominous.

3. His plans may have been better than we know, because they were altered by the delayed flight and NUA's intervention. He was rushed and had less time.

4. He blamed Shanann (wrongly, but in his mind) for all his problems and for keeping him from NK. We know his mother fed that resentment!

5. There were no wounds, bruising, nothing, on SW, likewise with CW. Impossible in an argument that escalated!

There's more, supported by the records, testimony, etc.

You can search youTube now for Radar released police body cam footage: [non-msm link deleted by me] Watts driveway early morning Monday August 13, 2018. Neighbor discusses concerns with police at the end.

Radar locked up my computer trying to view their link, they must have so many embedded ads. Sorry if this is already a repost.

She did but deleted it. I’ve found a couple deactivated accounts.

I don't have the ability to look now, but I believe it was a general summary recap that was paraphrased, not verbatim - but not an actual transcript. I'm having a hard time making out the words in the video as well.

Being a foreigner, I simply thought she had an unpleasant tone of voice, but also that maybe it was a part of a local dialect? Both she and the detective show some nazalization of the sounds.

Interestingly, the person who I definitely remember having something similar to vocal fry was from another country. Catherine Millet, the Frenchwoman, author of a very provoking book. (You can Google her, she is in Wikipedia). What is interesting is that a) it is another language, and Ms. Millet, a 70-year old editor of Art-Press, is not a Kardashian fan. B) I looked at several of her interviews to understand what it takes to produce such a bold book and I noticed she has very poor eye contact, but speaks very well, except for this tone, the vocal fry, and C) it is a totally different language so the vocal fry is not solely about culture, or language per se.

The detective's voice bothered me a lot too. I get nervous from certain sounds. Usually eating sounds. Chewing swallowing. Slurping. But vocal fry and also voices that have a lot of fluid in them- I can't explain it- make me feel weird.

He told SW he would go to counseling, would go on a trip the next weekend with her (that he, IIRC, actually planned to take his girlfriend on) and that he would read a book about marriage she gave him. This was told just a couple days before the murders. At the same time he was frantically obsessing over his new girlfriend. No way was he going to do all those things. So why did he tell SW he would if he didn't know he planned on killing her?

He also told her he would go with her to take Bella to her first day of school that Monday. Yet after that, the Friday before the murders, he told a co-worker HE was going to the CERVI site and would check on it. The Sunday before the murders he again told the co-worker and said the co-worker did not have to go. So on Sunday before Shanann came home, he knew he was not going to be there to drop off Bella at her first day of Kindergarten.

He made sure that he would be the only one at the CERVI site where he disposed of the bodies, but he made sure of that prior to the murders.

He did and said a lot of ludicrous things that made no sense. Things that showed, IMO, that he was cocky about his ability to lie and be believed, as most of these annihilator types are - like casey anthony, scott peterson, chris coleman, neil entwistle, etc. I don't think that shows nothing was pre-planned I think it shows how delusional and manipulative he is.

Like many, I think the delay in the return of his wife threw him. he thought he would have more time to stage. I also think he was shocked and did not anticipate NUA's response. Or anyone's. I think he didn't realize how many people cared about and were concerned for Shanann and how freaked they would be when they couldn't contact her. I think he felt he would have days to stage and feign concern, that no one would be in his house right away and that he would be better able to present a case of her leaving with the kids, that he ultimately did.

Things went wrong. I don't think that negates premeditation.

Finally, his reactions are not typical of second degree murder scenarios from what I've seen over the many years. People who attack in a rage don't calm down as quickly as he did. He was seen very calmly loading his truck after the murders. Like he was throwing out the trash. These were silent murders. We now know unequivocally that the neighbors can and have heard loud, shrieking fights from the house. If it was a sudden rage, why so quiet? And many second degree murderers react by calling 911, whether they lie about what happened or not. They aren't able to quickly and calmly dispose of the bodies. A lot of them confess right away too. Sometimes claiming self defense.
I think he promised SW he’d work on their marriage in order to pacify and shut her up, but the clock was running out. Shanann would be coming home for a long spell that night. There would be no more free and unaccounted for hours for sex and games with NK, and NK would very quickly discover that his divorce wasn’t as finalized as he told her it was. The game was over, it was all coming to a head, and he chose NK, and annilihated his family to get her. I don’t think he anticipated NK would betray him by going to the police, or that she wasn’t as infatuated with him as he was with her. Remember, the night before NK texted to her friend, Charlotte Nelson, “Don’t tell nobody. I haven’t made up my mind on him yet. Like he seems too good to be true.” (Discovery page 715) Once he realized NK had turned on him, he realized it was all over, they were never going to be together, he might as well confess and plead guilty because there was too much damning evidence against him, why fight it? He cared so much about his image, if people hated him already, imagine how much they would have hated him when everything he did came out at the trial. He didn’t want that. I won’t be surprised, however, if he does an interview later down the road, saying Shanann killed the girls, he only plead guilty to protect her because he’s really a good guy.

I agree, it is so unbelievably obvious and damning. Once his "part" is over, he has no interest in watching any more video. Weren't they trying to see if the camera picked up SW and babies leaving or if anyone strange approached their house? But nope,he just wanted to watch himself, and to see if anyone could tell what he was doing, then he was done. So incredibly stupid..MOo?

I think he did not want to get deeper in debt. School tuition. Wow. Then if they got divorced, him having to take care of an infant while she was off on Thrive. That would cut into his sex time with NK.

Child support for three unless they got 50/50 custody and he sure as heck does not want that.

Clean slate is much easier.

And by golly he got it!
