Wonder if Mom Watts is planning a trip for Xmas? If he doesn’t put them on his visitor list, she can’t get in. Same with phone numbers. He’s allowed to call ONLY the numbers on his approved list. I personally doubt he’s eager to see his family.

I don’t think he will want to see his mother. I thought it was interesting that in the discussions about the icream incident it was all directed towards CW talking to his Dad and how it effected his relationship with his dad. There was no concern for the relationship with his mom. Shanann referenced taking up for him to his mom, that she was the first to do that.

Hi all, first time poster. I’m so curious to know if SW’s family or friends saw red flags over the years. We ALL have different public/private personas, but clearly CW’s were abnormal & extreme. When SW’s parents stayed with them for extended periods of time, for example, was he able to hide his ugly? Did they see glimpses of the monster buried inside? Or was this a complete blindside?
I can’t seem to recall reading anything from friends, family, or coworkers until the weeks leading up to these unthinkable acts, that would question CW’s character or abilities as a human, husband or father. I am in no way saying this could have been prevented, I’m simply intrigued by how he could have hidden his true self for so long. It had to have been exhausting being him.
My heart aches for those 4 beautiful souls and their family and friends whose hearts are forever broken.

Welcome, I don’t think her family did. When this first happened I remember them commenting that they thought he was a good dad.

Saw an interesting theory on FB re: the neighbors security camera. Did CW really have tools stolen from his truck? Did he lie about that so he could look at neighbor's security camera to view exactly would be seen?

My understanding is that the neighbour had tools stolen from his truck and thats why he changed the angle. IIRC, CW didn't park on the drive, but around the corner, to save waking the girls when he left for work.

Hi! Bet in retrospect they recall a lot of abnormal behavior. Like you, nothing I’ve read regarding their past waved a red flag. I’m guessing her son media presence had everyone convinced things couldn’t be rosier.
But, remember, her mom immediately thought CW was responsible for SW going missing. So.......

Well, I must have lived a sheltered life.

One of my BFF's is going thru a divorce, we have both been married 17 years, he cheated but that's not why she's leaving, it was the addiction, the hookers, the lying (business trips to Las Vegas on a Friday) and she told me, you know most men and women cheat don't you, and I was like WHAT, no I never heard that before...

Coleman thought he was smarter, but his staging was so elaborate that even if he got it right, it wouldn’t have fooled anyone.

The story he was trying to sell, is one that simply doesn’t happen.

Much like the scenario that CW was trying to sell.

Peterson was probably the smartest of the bunch in regards to actually carrying out the crime.

Of course, he made countless mistakes as well.

Sorry to be grim; but I wonder if Peterson would have killed living children if he had them with Laci or he was just not risking having children and permanent ties with her at all so .. he did what he did before C was born..

90mg of Oxycodone is a huge amount. I've taken it for years for my chronic pain so my tolerance is VERY high. I'm on a break from it right now while I recover from surgery and require something else, but I normally take 30mgs 3 times a day. My husband is 6'3" and at 200 pounds, 5mg of oxycodone knocks him out.

Did we ever find out what three things raised the Thayers' alarms? We can guess and speculate as to what those things were, but have they come right out and said yet? I haven't looked at much from the second docu dump yet.

I'm so sorry you live with chronic pain @mtnlites ! I do as well and completely understand. I think that's one reason I'm so drawn to Shanann.....she also lived with these issues and seemed so bright and happy in the face of it. She was strong and didn't seem to let it get her down. I'm still working on that myself! Prayers for you

Where I’m at, we refer to such houses as “cookie cutter”. They sell because the builder offers creative financing. If not, they linger on the market.

I miss smallish house, huge yard. We had 5 kids with one bath upstairs, and parents with another bath downstairs, one car, lots of bikes and all of this taught us to share, and "go outside and play, kids". I guess people these days have to be worried about having their kids snatched from front yards, but practically no back yard? And lots of "stuff" to clean.

What's really funny, my family members with these McMansions...you should hear them GRIPE about having to pay a cleaning lady.

I just finished listening to a nearly 30 minute video of LE on a phone call to SW's long time friend Christina in Hawaii. She's the one who stayed with them for 2 months to help while SW recovered from surgery. They also spoke 'daily'. She said he was a good husband, great father, and CW even watched her own daughter for a couple days. She said something happened in the 5 weeks this summer that caused SW to be blindsided by the change in CW's behavior. She went into great detail describing SW's personality, her need for routines and schedules. There's also a good video of a conversation with Cindy (from LeVel IIRC). I haven't seen them posted here yet but could've missed them. I won't direct link. Search youtube for 'Phone call to Christina in Hawaii-Chris Watts murder' and 'Chris Watts murder BWC Ofc James phone call with Cindy'. Then select the filter in the upper left corner for "Today". (Videos were uploaded last night.) These women and NUA showed reactions that would be typical when SW and her daughters were missing, creating a stark contrast to CW's behavior. IMO.

Absolutely. He had NO reason to lie or fabricate. He knew immediately CW did something. If he hadn’t seen this extra side of CW, he may not have tuned into CWs behavior as quickly.

On a side note, in one of the videos I saw a For Sale in that neighbor’s yard so I looked it up. It was taken off the market recently. Can’t blame them. Nothing like an international murder story to reduce your selling price or just crazy people wanting to come look at it since it’s next to the Watts. Another collateral victim.

Yes, I understand. I was referring to the investigators "digging in deeper" and finding more information about the case. Once the case is closed, I don't believe they would continue to investigate unless the case was reopened. That is what I was referring to in the OP.
I certainly did not mean to imply that now that it's over the family will no longer suffer the loss or forget about their loved ones. I don't believe I said anything or made any reference to that at all. Ever.
