He must have been going out of his mind knowing that his free time was going to be severely limited now that SW was back from NC. Just reading that amazing timeline that was constructed of his phone behavior on a few days - things like SW called 4x and it went unanswered, then he picked up and they spoke for 11 minutes, followed by 8 minutes later (or whatever) he was moving photos of NK to his secret calculator app, then 15 min later another SW call. Sheesh.

IIRC He went to school for it, but never had the ability, drive, etc., to make it. All of his success in life was because of Shanann; buying a house, having a family, getting in shape. traveling. Even meeting NK! Without Shanann he would NOT have been in shape, noticeable, or in a position to meet her. Actually, without Shanann he would still be a chubby, unnoticeable mechanic in N.C.

I wonder if CW ever thinks about the amazing, positive impact Shanann had on his life and the gifts she gave him? Shanann wasn't the boat anchor in that relationship, he was!

Didn’t CW move to Colorado for a job and then she moved there and got a job at that dealership as well?

When NK did tbe search in 2017, was he buff then?

I read a very academic article, years ago, theorizing how some killer who killed his parents was motivated by survival of self. His parents forced him to do everything they wanted him to do without taking into consideration who he was, what he liked, or what he wanted to do. As a result he totally lost himself, and the only way he thought he could survive was to kill them. I think that explanation works for what CW did. He came from a home where he did everything his parents wanted him to do, and he moved into a marriage where he did everything his wife wanted him to do. He never learned the life skill of speaking up for himself, and since he spent his entire life doing what others expected of him, he probably had no clue who he was, anyway. I’m thinking of his interest in NASCAR, that was really his Dad’s passion, they went all the time together when he was growing up, but CW left the profession as soon as he got far away from his parents. As for SW, the happy family lifestyle and the roles each partner must play was her dream, not CW’s. He always did what he was told, but none of it was his idea. I think NK represented breaking free from it all for him, and he liked the freedom. I think SW was his first serious relationship, and when he met NK, he realized how much he had missed. I think he thought SW was never going to let him go, or at least not until after a really big ugly fight to keep him, and he felt like the most expedient way to break free was to kill her and his children.
THIS! And if she did let him go, she would make his life a living hell, esp if she learned of a mistress or mistresses.

I live in Canada, that house would easily be $750,000+ Canadian in my small city of 20,000 and well over a million in places like Vancouver. If that’s how the average American is living then I’m moving. ;)

Lol. The housing prices are elevated there in CA because so many wealthy people from China are moving there.

Look in a different location in CA. People in the US are struggling,

Could very well be the truth. He felt suffocated and had no way to communicate it productively due to his toxic childhood.

I’m wondering if there is a connection between any of these behaviors;

1. Trying to get Shanann to instigate the divorce that he wanted by telling her he didn’t love her anymore.

2. Planning the murders to be a disappearance, rather than murder - staging an intruder sex attack and murder of the children as witnesses which would be easier to stage if he just left the back sliding door open. This way he has no problem with cameras not picking up her exit out front, the car being in the garage, possessions in the house etc.

3. Murdering them all (most likely) in their sleep so they don’t see him as the attacker.

4. Hiding their bodies. Rather than leaving them somewhere to be discovered, like gassed in the car. This way (assuming they’re not found) he gets to not have to deal with them again, no funerals.

I think it all looks like hiding and diversion. Is it passive-aggressiveness? He described himself to the FBI agent as being non-confrontational and I think that was the general consensus of everyone who knew him too. The shouting his neighbor talked about could have been him starting to leak aggression, producing an internal crisis and destructive or rebellious behaviour such as starting an affair, because the alternative might mean facing the death of easy-going Chris. Forbidden feelings surfacing from childhood maybe, so blame it on current circumstances, wife, marriage and kids, all lumped in together as one - his current life. The threat of facing the repressed rage he felt at his mother was maybe surfacing and he re-packaged it.

I think everything he did was about protecting his image. I think he only feels rage when he thinks he is exposed as a liar and a fraud. When someone catches him in a lie it angers him. I imagine the loud arguing between SW and CW was because she caught him in his lies all the time. SW called him out on his BS and that was the worst thing to him-- to be unmasked.

I think most of his actions leading up to the crime were about trying to make himself look better:

1. Trying to get SW to start the divorce proceedings would mean CW wasn't to blame for the ending of their marriage (he was responsible for it but in his mind he could deny all wrongdoing on his part and blame it on her). This also would have set up a situation where he could claim she left him when she disappeared.

2. He didn't go right to the "somebody broke in and took them" story because that could potentially reflect bad on him for not protecting his family. Also, they had the alarm system that meant no one would be able to break in without his getting alerts on his phone about it. Plus, that story put would give more sympathy and attention to his victims. SW taking the kids and leaving him gave CW all the attention and sympathy in his mind. He had to make SW out to be the "bad guy" in the marriage in order to protect his fragile self-image.

3. He didn't want his family to see who he really was (a murderer) even for a second. He was most affected in court when the DA said Bella fought for her life and bit her tongue. IMO he was not upset because he felt empathy for Bella. He was upset because he knew Bella knew what he was and what he was doing to her before she died. Bella knew her daddy was murdering her. He killed them in their sleep because he thought that way they would never know he did it. Even though he killed them, what they thought of him was most important in his mind.

4. He hid the bodies because he didn't want to be unmasked as a murderer of his family. He didn't want his family and friends to know SW was actually dead at all. He wanted everyone to think bad of her-- that she left him. That she was keeping his girls away from him out of spite. It's the same as the answer to why he didn't stage a break in. That would mean the victims got more sympathy than CW. He was all about what he thought put him in the best light possible.

MOO.

Do you think any news organizations will have interviews with NK? Like 20/20? Do you think there would be a way for the Rzuceks to block that from happening or ensure she doesn't profit from the deaths of their family?

ETA- IMO SW's family probably wouldn't want a potential catalyst to all this horror to profit...but I could be wrong (it happens from time to time)
Dr Phil will have anyone on. He paid the Anthony's $60 K if I recall . They have made a steady living off blood money.

From what I recall, I think he was still at work and just trying to put everyone off from calling the police. I think as soon as he heard they were there and trying to get in the house, he booked it home as fast as he could. But, I am not positive on that timeline and my brain i turning to mush on this case.

And in NK's interview, she mentioned that he was basically venting to her about how NUA and her son were running through his house and up and down stairs.

Or we will be reading your published hate mail on here! ;)

You could certainly tell that was really get under his skin, them all over the house like that. I cringed because they could be destroying evidence or if a trial, the defense could have used that. That policeman was in a bad position, he knew CW was responsible, but had to act like he didn't know that.

Did chris actually search the exact words Mount Colima, or just erupting volcano (in general). Maybe he was looking at specific vacation spots? To have a name of a specific volcano like that is odd. Maybe just googled erupting volcano because he was going to send the image to NK as a sexual thing.

  • #1,470
I am not sure that he even is a narc. Every shallow self obsessed person is not necessarily a narcissist. I think he is just a low intellect man who thought that his lies would be believed. Because he is of low, very low intellect.

Agree with this 100%, I am betting CW has a very low IQ.

I immediately zoned in on the sexual motive to search erupting volcanoes.

Yeah... but if they do bust in and find something it will not be able to be used against CW. No warrant.

Not true. There are exigency circumstances that would allow for its use.

(Ummm, I’ve been a huge Metallica fan since the early 80s and I’m not an angry boy or disaffected man living a boring life in the burbs??)

(Angry woman maybe...haha)
I'm picturing you in your giraffe mask headbanging to Metallica.

I agree, without Shannan he was a nobody, he didn’t even have his own friends. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.

Lindstrom was his friend. He had a couple of other friends.

I have friends from elementary, junior and senior high, college, and work.

People move away.

He had a “special” friend at work.

The problem I have had is that because my sociopath is so popular and manipulative, few will believe me about his true abusive nature.

Indeed the only people who believe it are the ones I confided in down the years when i sought support. Indeed one of those people had their own sociopath and gave me a lot of advice.

Everyone else believes that only if we could sit down and talk about everything it could be worked out.

But that is the last thing I can do because that simply allows sociopath to do emotional hoovering back into my life!

When I found out a “friend” I knew for forty years was a sociopath ( she stayed with us for three months where I live now) , I contacted my friends and asked about her to make sure what I figured out was true and not a product of my imagination.

It was mind blowing to find out no one really knew her and thought everyone else was really good friends with her.

I would talk to people about your sociopath. You might be pleasantly surprised

There are, but none at that time.

Not true. If they believed there was a life at risk they would have been justified.

Excellent
THIS! And if she did let him go, she would make his life a living hell, esp if she learned of a mistress or mistresses.
this is what I’ve tried to convey regarding his urgency to begin his murderous spree upon S returning home. I’ll always believe NK was starting to not believe his fake divorce & was urging him to get out on his own. We know she googled S in ‘17 so how long had she waited, really? Was he afraid S would find something to lead her to believe a woman had been in her home?

CW probably felt he’d never be rid of S w/o being “rid” of her. I agree, his life would have been a living hell, just as it is now, had he started a divorce. I’m not even certain one can divorce a pregnant spouse in CO. In my state one cannot.

I often wonder if some of these guys are so exasperated with their situation they don’t care if they end up in prison. Like Scott P., Maybe afraid to grow up & really be an adult, finding the thought of being responsible for another frightening.

We will never know. There’s so many mental illnesses.

I tried unsuccessfully to find a commissary list for Dodge. Evidently someone deposited funds if Radar found it.

Do they not have the video from Shanann’s house doorbell camera showing her getting home at 1:48am? Or LE just doesn’t want to share it? And did Chris turn off their doorbell camera sometime after that?
