You're in my wheelhouse now! I just wrote an article for Huff Post about the war on pain pills and how it affects the chronically sick.

Good for you! It does affect those with chronic health problems and we are forced to suffer because others abused them.

CW doesn’t seem like the type of person to take the initiative around the house, or in most areas of his life.

Unless he has a vested interest in something, he’s willing to take a backseat and go with the flow.

This is made pretty clear in the discovery document.

He only cleaned the house after “they vanished,” because he was covering up a crime.

I highly doubt he did many household chores prior to that, without being asked.

We had a VI claim that he did a great deal around the house, but we all know that we were likely being lied to.
Well, he said himself that Shanann took care of all the finances, cooked the meals, and took care of the girls when they were not in daycare. He did mow the lawn though!

Really? They should give up!
They will never give up. “Evil” Shanann will forever be responsible for CW’s actions.

There are people out there that want to believe Jamie’s lies, and are somehow starstruck by her.

It’s truly bizarre.

JMO, he was in control from day one. He pretended to be someone he wasn't and he was living a secret life. SW was not in control - he just led her to believe that she was.
So true! Shanann was often apologizing for her 'flaws' because CW would point them out, even if they weren't true because he's perfect and she's not! It's implied even if he never said those actual words, he's the saintly husband/father and Shanann bought it and she transferred this onto her darling daughters, she just wanted a normal loving family. :( If they'd all lived on and together, I think the girls would've grown to hate him and see him for what he truly is and Shanann would remain trying to improve herself.

The narc I know told the whole street his wife is controlling, yep, let's see, she's the main breadwinner, makes the adult decisions, handles the finances, makes things happen and is basically the parent in their relationship. She's helped him win an award for his 'hobby' at 55 yrs of age, he couldn't achieve it on his own before they married! He throws huge tantrums whenever she questions him about his shady behaviour or his weird decisions. Then, he badgers her on and on with, 'why are you upset? He's like a child in a man suit and is most definitely the one in control.

See post 1677, direct quote from discovery.
We know nothing of his upbringing, we have only speculated.
Your last statement stumps me. We know neither well enough to know either way.
We did see his mother's interviews and we did hear her self serving statement at the sentencing.

Does anyone know about OCD? I have a question to something thats been niggling at me.
Hopefully I can answer your question.

Its probably to comfort themselves. Early days and all that.

Thank you, very informative. So, would 80mg be a fatal dose? and why google that, any ideas?
I originally thought maybe he had medicated the girls before killing them, but that was ruled out.

[UPDATED] Chris Watts girlfriend searched for Shanann Watts online nearly a year before the murders and long before her affair with Chris Watts began: Report
The records supervisor at the Frederick Police Department told CrimeOnline on Thursday that the entry in the discovery report showing that Nichol Kessinger performed a Google search for Shanann Watts on September 1, 2017 is a typo.

CrimeOnline reached records supervisor Amanda Purcell on Thursday after repeated inquiries made to multiple Colorado law enforcement agencies to confirm the accuracy of an entry in the Phone Data Review included in the discovery documents connected to the Chris Watts murder case, released by the Weld County District Attorney’s office late last month.

Asked if the entry in the Phone Data Review showing that Kessinger, who was involved in an affair with Chris Watts when he murdered his wife Shanann Watts and two young daughters, showing that Kessinger performed an internet search for “Shanann Watts” on her cell phone on September 1, 2017, was typographically correct, Purcell said it was a typo in the report.

Purcell was not able to provide additional clarification about another section of the phone data review that indicates Kessinger searched for Chris and/or Shanann Watts prior to beginning her relationship with Chris Watts in the spring of 2018, and referred our inquiry to the Weld County District Attorney’s office. CrimeOnline will provide further updates when more information is available.

There's no immunity deal. Guys she wasn't involved. She just wasn't. There would be interrogations of her and accusations during questioning. It just is not there.

That's a good point actually.

Her interview is definitely in witness mode. There are no accusations.

Really? They should give up!
in a word; YES! The Watts family should give up, shut up, and go away. They stopped being victims the minute they attacked and trashed the real victims; Shanann, Bella, Celeste, and Nico.

They should give up because they don't have a just cause and they are only hurting themselves and others. They raised a monster and they should accept some responsibility!

Psychopathy can run in the family. What are the chances he got a double dose in the genetic department?
I wish the entire Watts family would agree to be interviews with psychologists and have brain scans. Too bad the law cannot make it mandatory.

But as these criminals are convicted of murder, you would think this may become an issue, and in time, written into the conviction.
In this particular case, the Watts family, I would imagine, they feel they are just great, and would not permit such scans.
MOO.

I just think it’s them showing their true nature.

Denial is understandable.

A coordinated effort to destroy a victim and cast doubt on the truth, is not normal.

It’s so interesting how we can listen to the same interview and hear something entirely different! I thought NK said Charlotte’s father just died, and she was so deeply in grief she didn’t have the capacity to take on NK’s problems, as well. However, I did read somewhere that someone said NK called Charlotte, “retarded.” I didn’t hear that. Did you hear that? I need to go back and listen. But 2 hours, ugh, but if NK did say that in a demeaning manner, that might change how I feel.

No I didn't hear her say "retarded". What I was saying is that the officer kept asking her about texts regarding CW and his kids and she just kept going back to talking about her friend Charlotte's grief. Rambling when he was trying to get specific answers from her. She also kept saying Charlotte didn't make the connection that murderer Chris was NK's Chris when there was a text that clearly stated she did realize it was the same man. None of it matters in the grand scheme of this case. I don't think she was involved. It was just an observation regarding her personality which I find self serving and off putting.

SW had NO control issues! Nowhere in discovery does it say she had control issues.
Once again you use "discovery document", like there is only one. Which one, saying; what?

Yes, what pages? There are over 2,000.

Moreover, what's the point? Are we now going through it with a fine tooth comb to find examples of SW's "controlling" nature? And for what point. If we are heading back around to bashing SW again then you guys have fun with that. Not my thing. She's dead. Chris did it.

Jeez, I wonder whether there are other 'errors'?

Does anybody think it was possible that he dug the shallow grave prior to the murders?

Don't think so as I believe a colleague was at CERVI 319 on friday

Social media viciously went after her and the running theme became she was superficial and fake all based on her videos that were marketing tools to sell her Thrive. We see from her text with her friends that she was very real and not superficial, she was not afraid to discuss the weaknesses in her marriage, ask for their help and support. IDK, I think she gets a bad rap as being the one that supposedly put them in some financial stress but I think Chris was a very willing participant. In the discovery we found out it was her who contacted the realtor about selling the house, she was OK with letting go of that house. We also found out that Chris was googling Audi’s because he knew her Lexus would go back to thrive when she was no longer around to keep the car bonus. Yes, she seemed to like nice things but I don’t think that ruled her life. She was used to working hard and making things happen. I think if a divorce had happened she would’ve tightened up her bootstraps and got busy doing what she needed to do to support her family. I don’t think she would be having a pity party about losing the material things.
It makes me angry the way CW used SW's willingness to sell the house, lying to Nikki that selling the house was part of the divorce.

He did not have a very low IQ. After all, he was able to hold a stable job, always.
As to school, yes you can, on a special IEP program.
I don't think he was a special ed student though. At least not that we know. His roomate did say he was always studying and was serious about his work. There were a couple of people who commented on his great memory so that may have compensated for any language disorders he may have had.
