Come on. . One can be mature at 30 without having kids or a spouse. She had an apt, truck, supported herself, had A job. That’s an average mature adult.

She made a dumb mistake picking an evil married man. She made a dumber mistake by not being honest with LE. She has to live with this shame and hopefully regret for the rest of her life.

I’m no fan of NK and wouldn’t want to befriend her. But I don’t think she should be considered immature due to her marital status.

I’m not saying all 30 year olds that haven’t been married or have kids behave that way. I know many that age and younger that act more mature than she did. However, IMO she behaves like an early 20 year old and having never been married with no kids could contribute to her behavior.

This is really good advice. I have only heard about these types of people in recent years, I think it's good that as a society we are becoming more educated about how brains work. It's scary how well Chris pretended to have real feelings. Sometimes I wonder if there was any way Shan'ann could have figured out who he really was beforehand - she did seem to have a slight clue, she texted him that he was a one way street, etc.- but for most of the marriage he seemed so caring and he was such a convincing liar, I don't see that there was any way she could have figured it out. I can understand her decision to return to Colorado, I would have gone back too if I was her.

We could see his lies, even after being told, he failed the polygraph.
This sewer slime even stated, he "did not lie. I PROMISE".:rolleyes:

With Shan'ann she probably understood he continually lied, as these would become obvious, but she continued with him, due to her love for her family, I would think.
Perhaps, CW's lies to Shan'ann did not seem to be a great issue to her.
Not enough to leave.

(I’d be lying if I said there was no rebelliousness going on during those years, LOL)

My Dad hated the t-shirts more than the music ;)

I just think it’s them showing their true nature.

Denial is understandable.

A coordinated effort to destroy a victim and cast doubt on the truth, is not normal.
Oh man, it was waaaaaay over the top. Vicious statements by Mama Watts.:eek:

It makes me angry the way CW used SW's willingness to sell the house, lying to Nikki that selling the house was part of the divorce.
And in the video when he walked into the bedroom and came straight out holding the ring out towards NAU as if to say, " See, she left me." Dummy.

In regards to CW moved to Wisconsin prison, radaronline reported the following:

The source noted that Watts was flown to an airport in Madison, Wisconsin by authorities who transported him to the maximum-security prison.

BBM, how does that work with prisoners? do they fly them on commercial planes or they have different planes and airports? One time I hard from a military veteran that they fly suspects hand cuffed at the back of the plane with few military personal around. Ever since I heard that I freaked out! I wonder if they did fly CW on a commercial plane and if any general public recognized him.
I had read somewhere, and I do not recall where, that there are US Marshall planes used to transport prisoners. They are chained and cuffed to the seats. They would never put someone like CW on a commercial flight, IMO. And I doubt there are drink and snack carts coming down the aisle :)

Yes, what pages? There are over 2,000.

Moreover, what's the point? Are we now going through it with a fine tooth comb to find examples of SW's "controlling" nature? And for what point. If we are heading back around to bashing SW again then you guys have fun with that. Not my thing. She's dead. Chris did it.
Bravo. The SW bashing is beginning again, but it's subtle. I find it sickening.

So true! Shanann was often apologizing for her 'flaws' because CW would point them out, even if they weren't true because he's perfect and she's not! It's implied even if he never said those actual words, he's the saintly husband/father and Shanann bought it and she transferred this onto her darling daughters, she just wanted a normal loving family. :( If they'd all lived on and together, I think the girls would've grown to hate him and see him for what he truly is and Shanann would remain trying to improve herself.

The narc I know told the whole street his wife is controlling, yep, let's see, she's the main breadwinner, makes the adult decisions, handles the finances, makes things happen and is basically the parent in their relationship. She's helped him win an award for his 'hobby' at 55 yrs of age, he couldn't achieve it on his own before they married! He throws huge tantrums whenever she questions him about his shady behaviour or his weird decisions. Then, he badgers her on and on with, 'why are you upset? He's like a child in a man suit and is most definitely the one in control.

I agree. A spoiled man-child. I think Shanann was a very positive person who was always trying to be the best that she could be and I think she was tough on herself in setting big goals, and working her rear-end off to reach and exceed those goals. She wasn't doing it for herself, IMO. She was doing it to take care of her family. Did CW even have any goals other than his narcissistic goal of dieting and body building so he could be sexy to a new affair partner?

I think if Shanann had been a narcissistic and entitled woman, she would have gotten sick of him years ago. JMO, her lack of narcissism and her lack of an exaggerated sense of entitlement is what made her the perfect victim for someone like CW.

All JMO.

Sorry, I was getting fed up with speculation, when the discovery document says otherwise.

I would talk to people about your sociopath. You might be pleasantly surprised

One of the most interesting aspects was working out who the other targets were

It's pretty darn sad that Inmate Watts pled guilty and has been sentenced and people still want to disparage a murder victim. I'm with you...off to make dinner... :) MOO

Respectfully disagree 100%. His plan was so bad, it didn't seem like a plan at all. At every turn he had a problem. As for putting the children's bodies in the oil tanks, sooner or later they would have been discovered. Then what? The bodies would have immediately been tied to Chris. Any way you slice it, he was completely trapped by his actions that night. His work truck movements could be tracked, so he was severely limited in his body disposal options. If he took out SW's car in the middle of the night, his neighbor's camera would have caught him (hell, he probably would have forgotten to turn off his cell phone in any case). If he tried to give himself more time to dispose of the bodies at site 319, he would have had to explain why he uncharacteristically left for work much earlier than usual. It was no-win for him. I can't think of a single scenario where he could have gotten away with this crime given the constraints he was under.

When I think of this case and Chris Watts, the movie Body Heat comes to mind. Remember the scene with a young Mickey Rourke explaining to William Hurt how to plant an incendiary bomb in a boathouse to help stage/dispose of the body of his lover's husband (Kathleen Turner)? Upon questioning Hurt why the hell he is contemplating this crime, Rourke says:

"Any time you try a decent crime, there are 50 ways you can f*ck up. If you can think of 25 of them, you are a genius. And you ain't no genius."

:) Dave
I so agree with this. In fact, other than the text he sent from the bday party, I wouldn’t consider his crimes premeditated. Every aspect, the most obvious details were overlooked.
That’s why I wonder, as I posted earlier, if he intended to kill only S, leave the girls in bed, dispose of S, race home, clean up, etc. he still would’ve had a lot of ‘splainin to do.

That was amongst his worst acting moments IMO

I missed that - interesting. Maybe he was truly conflicted on some level. Stay with the wife and kids, leave and try to be with NK. His pattern of phone use must have been making him crazy. Calls from the wife, many unanswered, then a call or text to the mistress, then looking and nude pics of NK and moving them to his secret app followed by more calls from SW begging him to talk to her. That last weekend must have created the volcano in his head.
I think he just wasn't interested because he knew he wouldn't be in such a rush to find a place after his family "left him." I don't believe he was conflicted at all. Or maybe he thought he could just move right in with her. He kept dropping hints to her about how expensive the apartments were. Imo

What a dumb headline for the article - "Chris Watt's In-Laws Speak Out After Their Daughter's Tragic Murder" ??

How about "Shanann Watts' Parents Speak Out After Their Daughter's Tragic Murder"

Who wants to be known as Chris Watts' In-Laws?? Blech.

Unrelated, it struck me as really interesting that SW's password for everything was her ex-mother-in-law's phone number. CW told Agent Tammy that in the interviews. Tammy expressed surprise about that, but Chris was like, "Nah, they were just really good friends and stayed friends."

Imagine that. SW was really good friends with her former mother-in-law! Even after she and the MIL's son got divorced! Enough to keep her phone number as her password. Look at that, SW wasn't the horrible, shady, bipolar daughter-in-law after all. I think it says tons about her that even her FORMER mother-in-law liked her even after the divorce. Sorry Cindy and most unpleasant Watts family.
That's a terrible headline, I didn't know anyone else was noticing. Why say the "good side" of Shan'ann?

I dont think pointing out that speculation is incorrect when discovery says otherwise is disparaging. Facts aren't disparaging and pointing them out in no way makes it OK for CW to do what he did. As I stated earlier, speculation changes the narrative and the danger in that is that people will think that they will be able to protect themselves from something that they can't see.
